Sri Aurobindo’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations . ( 1872-2022 )

Sri Aurobindo Society State Committee , Karnataka and Sri Aurobindo Complex Trust , Bangalore are jointly organising a One – Day National Seminar with a theme ” The Renaissance of India and Indian Nationalism in the light of Sri Aurobindo ” on the occasion of commemorating 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo on Sunday , the 7th August , 2022 at NIMHANS Convention Centre , Bangalore . The program will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in three parts .. Part I : Inaugural Ceremony with the Key note address and Releasing of Souvenir . Talks on the Theme of the Seminar . Part II : Part III : Cultural Program by Professional Artists . Sri L.S. Tejasvi Surya , Hon’ble Member of Parliament , Bangalore South will be the Chief Guest . Dr. Ajit Sabnis , Chairman , Sri Aurobindo Society State Committee , Karnataka will preside over the Program . About Sri Aurobindo : Sri Aurobindo ( born Aurobindo Ghose ; 15th August , 1872 – 5th December , 1950 ) was an Indian Philosopher , Yogi , Maharishi , Poet , and Indian Nationalist . He was also a Journalist , editing newspapers like Bande Mataram . He joined the Indian movement for Independence from British colonial rule , till 1910 was one of its influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer , introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution .

He passed the Indian Civil Service examination . As he did not want to serve the British Government , he refused to join ICS . But in 1893 , he accepted the appointment in the Baroda State Service . He worked for 13 years and rose to the post of principal of the Baroda State College . He learned Sanskrit ; read the Vedas , the Upanishads , Epics , Marathi , Gujarati , and his native language Bengali . Sri Aurobindo involved in nationalist politics in the Indian National Congress . He was arrested in Alipore bomb blast conspiracy . However Sri Aurobindo was be convicted and imprisoned for writing articles against British colonial rule in India . He was released when no evidence could be provided . During his stay in the jail , he had mystical and spiritual experiences , after which he moved to Pondicherry , leaving politics for spiritual work . At Pondicherry , Sri Aurobindo developed a spiritual practice he called Integral Yoga . The central theme of his vision was the evolution of human life into a divine life in divine body . He believed in a spiritual realisation that not only liberated but transformed human nature , enabling a divine life on earth . In 1926 , he established Sri Aurobindo Ashram that has witnessed tremendous growth over the years . His important works at glance : – The Divine Life his major works includes Essays on the Gita ( 1922 ) – Collected Poems and Plays ( 1942 ) – The Synthesis of Yoga ( 1948 ) – The Human Cycle ( 1949 ) -The ideal of Human Unity ( 1949 ) – Savitri : A Legend and a Symbol ( 1950 ) – On the Veda ( 1956 ) This year long Birth Anniversary program of Sri Aurobindo will be concluded on 15th August , 2022 ( 1872-2022 ) at Pondicherry .

National Gold Medal for Chennais DNB Student of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital

Dr. Jayanthi, an MBBS student and a mother of two children, joined the DNB program at Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital in 2017 and graduated in 2020.
The Gold Medal of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in Medical Sciences was awarded at its 21st convocation ceremony, held in New Delhi, recently.

Chennai, 04 August 2022:. Dr. T. Jayanthi, a student of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) – Ophthalmology of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, Chennai, was awarded the Gold Medal by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in Medical Sciences, in her specialty at the recently held 21st convocation ceremony of NBE in Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
Dr. Jayanthi, an MBBS student and a mother of two children, joined the DNB program at Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital in 2017 and graduated in 2020. Currently, she is pursuing a medical retina fellowship in Dr. Agarwals Centre of Excellence, Chennai.
In her comments, Dr. Preethi Naveen, Academic Director- Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, said, We are elated to know that Dr Jayanthi has bagged the Gold Medal in her specialization. Despite the pandemic and shouldering the responsibilities of a mother of two children, she focused on her studies and made our institution proud. Her faculties say that her humble manner and keen medical observations made her a favorite among patients. We are happy that Dr Jayanthi chose to be with us as a research fellow. We are proud to be a part of the remarkable journeys of achievers like Dr Jayanthi and are committed to mentor them through our various educational initiatives.
In her comments, Dr Jayanthi said, It gives me great pleasure to receive the Gold Medal from NBE in Medical Sciences. This would not have been possible without the support of my family and the encouragement of my teachers at the institute. Though Covid pandemic had disrupted normalcy, my institution acted swiftly to ensure the continuation of training. I would like to thank the management of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, where I am pursuing a fellowship now for their continued support and good wishes.
