BENGALURU, 8th October 2022: A marquee event in the capital city of Karnataka, Sublime Life’s carefully curated pop-up, ‘TGIS! Thank God, It’s Sublime!’ goes on to become Bengaluru’s first ever fully carbon neutralized event.

Sublime Life, an e-commerce platform for clean, curated beauty that reigns supreme in building an ecosystem of sustainable, ethical, effective and cruelty-free skincare products that are not only good for the users, but for the planet too, hosted a two-daypop-up event on 8th & 9th October at The Courtyard by onboarding exquisite brands whose synergies ethically align with theirs.

In addition, with a host of insightful and eco-conscious workshops that focusedon clean skincare, zero waste living, wellness cooking and much more, industry experts such as Komal Basith (leading skincare influencer), Sahar Mansoor & Mehul Majeshwar(leads, Bare Necessities), Shreya Gazmer (founder, Hungry Alien) among others took center stage to emphasize on ways to implement the concept of sustainability in one’s day to day lives. A variety of engaging activities also made way for the visitors to win exciting hampers to directly engage with the brand and understand its vision.

Through the aforementioned mindful mix of booths occupied by brands combined with interactive workshops, TGIS was a massive success with visitors flocking in from all over the city.

Himalaya brings back “Ek Nayi Muskaan” – a flagship initiative aimed at spreading awareness on cleft lip and palate in children

Bengaluru, October 8, 2022: Himalaya Wellness Company, one of India’s leading wellness brands, announced the launch of its 7th edition of “Ek Nayi Muskaan” in Bengaluru today. Muskaan is the flagship social impact initiative that aims to create awareness on the condition of cleft lips and palates in children. This initiative has been co-created and implemented in partnership with Smile Train, the world largest cleft-focused NGO dedicated to spreading awareness on cleft deformities and supporting this facial birth difference and supporting 100% free cleft surgeries and comprehensive cleft care for the underprivileged. To commemorate the launch this year, Himalaya, organized an event to address the societal stigma that children face due to cleft and bring about a change in society to recognize that children with clefts can live full and healthy lives. The event saw many engaging activities such as gaming zones, art workshops, and interactive installations for children. They also got an opportunity to engage and interact with various Instagram influencers such as Neha Chatlani, Namrata Kumari, Swati Gandhi, Diksha, and Palak Bhandari at the event.

The event saw speakers who shared their success stories with children, helping them get inspired from some incredible narratives on cleft.

Through this initiative, Himalaya Wellness Company and Smile Train India are working to spread awareness about the birth condition that affects one in 700 births in India, but still faces a shocking lack of awareness among much of the population. This initiative also seeks to support families by providing free cleft treatment for children in need across the country.

ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕದಿಂದ ಮುಸ್ಕಾನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್‌ಫಾರಂನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಳುತುಟಿ ಲಪೇಲ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದ 130 ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜೀವನ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯಂ ಅಪ್ ಬಾಮ್ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಿಮಾಲಯ ವೆಲ್‌ನೆಸ್ ಕಂಪನಿ ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮೊತ್ತದ ದೇಣಿಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.

March to Bellary from Sanduru demanding rehabilitation of Bellary Mining Workers

For the following demands:

  1. Rs. 5 lakh compensation to the mining workers who lost their job in 2011.
  2. 5 acres of land with irrigation facility for the family of mining workers
  3. Re-employment for the workers who lost their job in Class “A” and “B” mines where work has resumed.
  4. A monthly pension of Rs. 5,000/- for workers who have reached superannuation age
  5. Site and houses for mining workers
  6. Establishment of community facilities like Anganwadi, Community Halls, Library, Labor Center and Primary Health Centres
  7. Free medical service for mining workers
  8. Free education for the children of mining workers and financial assistance for higher education. The condition of the workers who had been and are working in the iron ore mines of Bellary district has been deplorable since the beginning. These workers are from the most vulnerable and marginalized communities and were not paid minimum wages and were doing life-threatening work without any basic amenities and proper safety equipment. It is through the exploitation of these workers that mine owners have made and continue to make huge profits. However, the government failed to provide proper support to workers even though the laws for the benefit and welfare of workers were being violated on a large scale in the mines of Bellary. In July, 2011, the Hon’ble Supreme Court ordered the closure of all mines to prevent illegal mining. As a result, more than 25,000 workers lost their jobs and were forced into the streets without compensation or rehabilitation. The mine owners used the Supreme Court order as a pretext to deny the workers compensation and other statutory rights. Due to this, the families of the workers had to face huge hardship and are currently living on the streets without any means of livelihood. The Government has set up the Karnataka Minerals Environment Rehabilitation Corporation (KMERC) to implement a comprehensive environmental plan for mine-affected areas. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the social infrastructure development component under this scheme also includes a scheme to provide livelihood to the workers. However, the Corporation has not implemented a single scheme for the welfare of mine workers till date. Thus the Bellary Mine Workers’ Organization filed a Writ Petition (Civil) no. 448/2018 before the Supreme Court. So far, the Government has collected over Rs. 19,000 Crores as fines from the mining companies. However, no amount has been allotted to the welfare of the workers. The Union has also approached all the concerned authorities seeking for a plan to be made for the rehabilitation of the workers, and the KMERC has also sought that the Deputy Commissioner, Ballari to prepare the same. However, the same is still to be done. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ 75ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಅಮೃತಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾತಿ, ಕುಲ, ಮತ್ತು ಮತ ಬೇಧವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿರುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ವಿಷಯ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿರವರು, ಸರ್ದಾರ್ ವಲ್ಲಭಾಯಿ ಪಟೇಲರು, ಸುಭಾಷ್‌ ಚಂದ್ರ ಬೋಸ್‌ರವರು, ಭಗತ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ರವರು, ಮಂಗಲ್‌ ಪಾಂಡೆರವರು, ಲಾಲಾ ರಜಪತ್ರಾಯ್‌, ಜವಹರಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರುರವರು, ಮೌಲಾನಾ ಆಜಾದ್ ರವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಸ್ವಾತ್ರಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಬಲಿದಾನವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಇತಿಹಾಸ.

ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರು ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರಲ್ಲದೆ ಅನೇಕರು ಪ್ರಾಣ ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮದನ್ನೋಹನ್ ಮಾಲ್ವಿಯ, ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗೋಖಲೆ, ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖ‌ ಆಜಾದ್, ಬಾಲಗಂಗಾಧರ ತಿಲಕ್, ಬಂಕಿಮ್ ಚಂದ್ರ ಚಟರ್ಜೀ ಮಂಗಲ್ ಪಾಂಡೆ, ವಾಸುದೇವ ಬಲವಂತ ಘಡಕೆ, ವೀರಸೇನಾಪತಿ, ಚಾಪೇಕರ್, ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ ಭಾರತಿ, ಸೇನಾಪತಿ ಬಾಪಟ್, ಹೆಚ್‌.ಎಸ್. ದೊರೆಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಜಮಖಂಡಿ ಭೀಮರಾವ್, ಮುಂಡರಗಿ ಭೀಮರಾವ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಮುಖಂಡರುಗಳು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಸುವರ್ಣ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಆದ್ಯ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರುಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಉಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎನ್. ಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಹೆಚ್. ಎಸ್. ಸಚ್ಚಿದಾನಂದ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಯೋಗಿ ನಾರೇಯೇಣ ಇಂಡೋಲಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಶ್ರೀ ಬಾಬು ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ ರವರು ದಿನಾಂಕ 09.10.2022 ರಂದು ಭಾನುವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ ದೇವಿ ಪಾರ್ಕ ಬಡಾವಣೆ, ವೈಯಾಲಿಕಾವಲ್ ಚೌಡಯ್ಯ ಹಾಲ್‌ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತೆಲುಗು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣದೇವರಾಯ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ರಘುನಾಥ್. ಎಸ್ – ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು
