Oroboro Apparels, a thriving startup incubated with NSRCEL IIM Bangaloreand FIELD IIM Vishakhapatnam, in collaboration with Unnati Foundation,proudlyannounces its upcomingwomen empowerment extravaganza”FemmeFest: Celebrating and Empowering Her Dreams.” This multifacetedmega event is set toa dynamic platform, amplifying a diverse array ofwomen’s dreams, from startups to micro-businesses, family enterprises, aspiringartists, influencers, and women navigating the journey of motherhood oraspiring to step onto the fashion runway.

The FemmeFest website was officially launched by Ms. Susan Thomas, IndianRevenue Service (IRS) officer currently working with the Income TaxDepartment as Commissioner, CBDT in New Delhi. and former Director of theNational Institute of Fashion Technology (Bangalore), at a virtual event heldon December 21, 2023. Inaugurating the website, she expressed sincereenthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to be part of FemmeFest and eagerlyanticipate the upcoming March event. This outstanding initiative not onlyrecognizes but actively supports women in their journey to achieve their dreams,challenging the traditional perception of women primarily as caregivers.”

Women encounter systemic hurdles such as gender discrimination, limitedfinancial and educational opportunities, societal expectations, violence, andworkplace challenges. FemmeFest emerges as a crucial initiative addressingthese issues, providing essential support for women to overcome thesechallenges. The event aims to be a launchpad, offering aspiring vwomen a trifectalof support – voice validation, venture opportunities, and increased visibility.

FemmeFest comprises seven carefully curated programs, including five contestsfor aspiring women and two hybrid conclaves on the event day. The contestsinclude:
Startup Spark Challenge: An opportunity for women-led startups to win andraise capital.
Innvote MicroBiz Challenge: A platform for urban and rural women to pitchtheir micro-business concepts, with selected participants receiving mentorshipsand grants.
