DANCEJATHRE 2024-TA-KA-DI-MI-TA
Shambhavi School of Dance, headed by Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi, is back with the 11th edition of its signature dance festival dancejathre, India’s unique dance fair. The two day dance fair is scheduled on 23 and 24th March 2024 at the Shankara Foundation, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru (Next to Doddakallasandra Metro Station) from 10am to 9pm on both days.
After a two-year virtual event mode, we are happy to bring back the glory of live events with a two day celebration offering Dance Competitions, Workshops, Performances and more for all age groups.
Objective:
DanceJathre in Kannada means a fair, a celebration. A gathering of people of celebrate an event, an occasion to come together in exchanging thoughts, ideas, emotions, talent and more. Dance jathre is exactly this, a celebration of dance, a coming together of people to experience, learn and share their art.
Dancejathre is a brainchild of Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi a presidential awardee and Ex-chairperson of Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy.
Dancejathre has never differentiated between dance forms. This is one stage where folk, contemporary, modern, western or classical dance forms meet. This is a platform for all age groups be it beginners, experienced, enthusiasts to meet their idols, learn observe and get inspired picking up the nuances.
So what is special about dancejathre 2024?
• Competitions for Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Category, solo, duet and group. The winners of the senior group category are given an opportunity to present their work on the main stage as part of the performances along with reputed dancers. Cash prize is awarded too
• This edition features performances of dynamic dance exponents of various forms from different parts of India along with their groups.
• A variety of workshops including classical (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Bharatanrithya) folk, African Dance, Dhandiya, Pracheen Garba, Ghoomar and Kalbeliya dance.
