
The “Explore Maldives” roadshow, which was conducted on June 26, 2024, at the upscale Shangri-La Bengaluru, was effectively wrapped up by Visit Maldives and Manta Air in collaboration with important resort and guest house partners. More than 130 agents and members of the media attended the event. Major Maldivian hospitality chains, such as resorts, guest houses, DMCs, travel agencies, tour operators, and Indian MICE trip organizers, were represented. Leaders in the travel industry from the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) Karnataka Chapter and the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) Karnataka Chapter were present, which encouraged Indian tourists to once again think about the Maldives as their ideal vacation spot.

The full-day event was opened by the Deputy Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC), Zihuny Rasheed, and featured presentations by key resort partners and multiple networking sessions. These sessions provided invaluable opportunities for the partner resorts/guest houses to engage with the attending travel agents and tour operators. The event also included numerous raffles and giveaways provided by the esteemed resort partners exclusively for the occasion.

In order to improve connection and accessibility and make it simpler for Indian tourists to travel to the Maldives and vice versa, Zihuny Rasheed emphasized the importance of Manta Air’s regular direct flights between Bengaluru and the Maldives. In addition, he emphasized how crucial it is to create cultural connections between the Maldives and India because they are still close friends and neighbors.
