Kottayam family races against time to save their children battling a tough blood disorder
THIRUVALLA, January 17, 2025: In a difficult battle for survival, three young siblings from Kottayam – Faizy (11), Faiha (10), and Faiz (4.5) – are urgently seeking blood stem cell donors. Diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia Major, a genetic blood disorder, their childhood is marred with frequent blood transfusions and weakness as their family fights to give them a chance at a healthy future.
Despite their condition, the siblings continue to dream big. Faizy, a lively and determined sixth-grader, dreams of becoming a pilot and businessman. Faiha, a bright and curious fourth grader, aspires to become an oncology doctor and help children like herself. Little Faiz, the youngest, captivates everyone with his playful energy and ambition to become a captain pilot. Their resilience and positivity in the face of such a challenging condition inspire everyone around them.
Emphasizing the critical importance of blood stem cell transplantation in the management of thalassemia patients, Dr. Chepsy C Philip, Professor & Program Director, Regional Advanced Center for Transplantation (RACTHAM), Haemato-Lymphoid Oncology & Marrow Diseases, Believers Church Medical College Hospital stated, “India faces a substantial burden of thalassemia, with over 10,000 children diagnosed with this condition annually. Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that compromises the body’s capacity to produce hemoglobin. Beta-thalassemia major, a severe manifestation of the disease, necessitates regular blood transfusions and, ultimately, may necessitate a stem cell transplant for a definitive cure. Consequently, the demand for transplants among children is exceptionally high.”

“Donating blood stem cells is a voluntary act of solidarity with a seriously ill person. The availability of matching blood stem cell donors remains a significant challenge for Indian patients in need of life-saving transplants. India has a young population, so it is crucial to encourage more people to register as stem cell donors. Their continued participation in the registry significantly improves the chances of finding matching donors for patients requiring assistance,” says Patrick Paul, CEO, DKMS BMST Foundation India.
“However, finding a matching donor is a challenge; only 30% of patients diagnosed with blood cancer or a blood disorder find a matching donor within their family, while the remaining 70% of the patients rely on the generosity of voluntary, unrelated stem cell donors. Ethnicity plays a significant role in finding a matching donor,” he added.
The siblings’ father, who works far from home to support the family, urges citizens to come forward and register as blood stem cell donors to help out his kids. He says, “Watching my children suffer is unbearable. A matching stem cell donor is their only chance to survive. I urge everyone to register as donors – you could be the reason my children live to see their dreams come true.”

A successful transplant can completely eliminate the need for lifelong blood transfusions and improve the patient’s quality of life significantly. Bengaluru: There have been allegations of irregularities in bank transactions in KEB Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Class Welfare Organization (R.466).
While important posts are vacant in the organization, some self-proclaimed office bearers have held illegal meetings and taken decisions. Despite the High Court issuing a temporary stay order in this regard, it is said that transactions worth crores of rupees have been made from bank accounts.
The Chief Manager of State Bank of India, Kaveri Bhavan branch is also accused of being involved in this irregularity. A special government investigation and appointment of an administrative officer have been demanded in this regard, said Muniraju (N), Joint Secretary, K.E.B.sc/st Welfare Organization, Central Committee, Bengaluru, at a press conference held at the Press Club of Bangalore.

2. ಅದರಂತೆ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್, ಕಾವೇರಿ ಭವನ ಶಾಖೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-09ರವರು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ.ಎಸ್. ರವರನ್ನು ದಿನಾಂಕ 10.06.2024ರಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ವಹಿವಾಟು ಮಾಡಲು ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
3. ಮುಂದುವರೆದಂತೆ, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪಿ.ಆರ್.ಗವಿಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ.ಎಸ್. ಬೆವಿಕಂ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ರವರನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ ದಾವೆ ಹೂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ [ದಾವೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ WP 16832/2024 (ಅನುಬಂಧ-2) ] ಈ ದಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಉಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸದರಿ ದಾವೆಯ ಅಂತಿಮ ಆದೇಶವು ಬಾಕಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ವಹಿವಾಟು ಮಾಡಲು ಯಾವುದೇ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
4. ಆದರೆ, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ರವರು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎಂದು ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪಿ.ಆರ್.ಗವಿಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಪ್ರಭಾರ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎಂದು ದಿನಾಂಕ 27.06.2024ರಂದು ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ದುರ್ಬಳಸಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 01.07.2024ರಂದು ಸಭೆ ಕರೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸದರಿ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕೇವಲ 05 ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದು, ಅಂದರೆ, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್(ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ), ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪಿ.ಆರ್.ಗವಿಕುಮಾರ್(ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಪ್ರಭಾರ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ), ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ (ಸೆಸ್ಕ್ ನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು), ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಗುಂಜಿಕರ್ (ಹೆಸ್ಕಾಂನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು) ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಬಿ.ಆರ್. ಬುದ್ಧ (ಜೆಸ್ಕಾಂನ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು) ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದು, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬೈಲಾ ನಿಯಮ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ನಿರ್ಣಯ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಭೆಯ ನಡವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
5. ದಿನಾಂಕ 01.07.2024 ರಂದು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಭೆಯ ನಡಾವಳಿಗಳು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬೈಲಾ ನಿಯಮಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ದವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸದರಿ ನಡಾವಳಿಗಳು ಊರ್ಜಿತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯರಾಮ್ ಸಂಘಟನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿರವರನ್ನು ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವುದೂ ಸಹ ಬೈಲಾ ನಿಯಮ ವಿರುದ್ದವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆಂದು ದಿನಾಂಕ 16.07.2024 ರಂದು ಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಹಕಾರ ಸಂಘಗಳ ಉಪ ನಿಬಂಧಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಘಗಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಂದಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, 4ನೇ ವಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ರವರು ಹಿಂಬರಹ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ (ಅನುಬಂಧ-3).
6. ಆದರೂ ಸಹ, ಈ ಅನಧೀಕೃತ/ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರ ಸಭೆಯ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಜಯರಾಮ್, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪಿ.ಆರ್.ಗವಿಕುಮಾರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಊರ್ಜಿತವಲ್ಲದ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು (ದಿನಾಂಕ 01.07.2024ರಂದು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕೇವಲ 05 ಜನ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ನಿರ್ಣಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ) ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ, ಸದರಿ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳ ಸತ್ಯಸತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸದೇ ಶ್ರೀ ರಮಾನಾಯ್ಡು, ಮುಖ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್, ಕಾವೇರಿ ಭವನ ಶಾಖೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-09ರವರು ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ(ರಿ.466)ಯ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ಖಾತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಹಿವಾಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ (ಅನುಬಂಧ-4 ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆಗಳ ವಿವರಣ ಪಟ್ಟಿ).
7. ಆದೂದರಿಂದ, ಊರ್ಜಿತವಲ್ಲದ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಚೆಕ್ನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ, ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ವಹಿವಾಟಿನಿಂದ ಆಗಿರುವ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಅವ್ಯವಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿರುವ ಕಾವೇರಿಭವನ ಶಾಖೆಯ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಮಾನಾಯ್ಡುರವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ನೀಡಿ ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (ರಿ.466)ಯ ಸುಮಾರು 10,000 ಸಾವಿರ ಜನ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಲಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು, ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯ (ಆಡಳಿತ ಶಾಖೆ), ಆರ್.ಬಿ.ಓ-5, ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ರಸ್ತೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ರವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಸಾರಿ ಮೌಖಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪತ್ರದ ಮುಖೇನ ಕೋರಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ (ಅನುಬಂಧ-5) ಆದರೆ ಈ ವಿಷಯ ಕುರಿತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನ ಉನ್ನತಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
8. ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ(ರಿ.466)ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾಲಿಯಿರುವ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಹುದ್ದೆ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ಹುದ್ದೆ, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಹುದ್ದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉಪ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಭರ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಶ್ರೀ ಎನ್. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ರಿಟರ್ನಿಂಗ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯವರು ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ (ಅನುಬಂಧ-6).
9. ಉಪ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಸ್ವಯಂ ಘೋಷಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಕವಿಮಂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಾಹಕ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಕುರಿತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಉಚ್ಛ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೆ (ದಾವೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ WP 20689/2024) ಹೂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ದಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಉಚ್ಛ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ದಿನಾಂಕ 23.08.2024 ರಂದು “the petitioner shall not take any major policy decision” ಎಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಂತರ ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ದಿನಾಂಕ 09.09.2024ರಂದು “The petitioner is permitted to operate the Bank Accounts only for the purpose of payment of salary and statutory payments. Howeveŗ the petitioner is restrained from utilizing the funds for any other purposes” ಎಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಂತರ ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ (ಅನುಬಂಧ-7).

CPRI is the forerunner as well as the Nodal Agency of Ministry of Power, Government of India for undertaking research schemes in generation, transmission and distribution sectors of power in India. Progressive developments in projects on innovative technologies like superconducting cables, LED devices, light weight polymer insulators, smart meters, renewables, energy storage devices, smart grids, cyber security, solar photo voltaic are being undertaken in CPRI, catering to the latest developments in the power sector.
CPRI has also singed MoUs with IISc, IITs and other academic organizations in India for collaborative research and development and demonstration of technologies. The Institute has significantly contributed to the Government of India programmes like, “Restructured Accelerated Power Development & Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) and the prestigious “Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyuthikaran Yojana” (RGGVY), Integrated power Development Scheme (IPDS) and other schemes of the Power Ministry The Institute is regularly offering consultancy services, third party inspection and training programmes for electrical utilities and manufacturers both in India and abroad.
CPRI celebrated its 65th Institute Day on 16th January 2025. Shri Srikant Nagulapali IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest for the function. Prof Govindan Rangarajan, Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru graced the occasion as Guest of Honor. During the occasion, the 35% Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Lecture titled “Airborne Radars- Indian Scenario” was delivered by Dr. D. Seshagiri, Outstanding Scientist and Director of Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), DRDO, Kochi Shri BA Sawale, Director General CPRI presided over the function. Sri Swaraj Kumar Das and Sri Sudhakar Reddy. Directors, were present during the function.
A cultural programme was later organized during the function.
