Alliance University Honors Women with Mahila Spandana Awards 2025 on International Women’s Day

Bengaluru, March 8, 2025: Alliance University celebrated International Women’s Day at its Anekal campus with a grand event themed ‘Accelerate Action’, focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The highlight of the celebration was the Mahila Spandana Awards 2025, which recognized 22 outstanding women for their contributions across various industries, including healthcare, arts and literature, media, sports, social impact, and entrepreneurship.

The event also featured social empowerment initiatives such as Mahila Sabalikarana and Kaushalya Spandana, aimed at enhancing women’s education and skill development. Attendees participated in exhibitions and workshops designed to foster learning and networking opportunities.

As part of its commitment to supporting women’s livelihoods, the university distributed 20 sewing machines to rural women, promoting financial independence and self-sufficiency.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Padma Shri awardees Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Dr. C.N. Manjunath. Also present were Alliance University Pro-Chancellor Abhay G. Chebbi, Registrar General Surekha Shetty, Registrar Dr. Viswanath Mattam, Pro-Vice Chancellors Dr. Ray Titus and Dr. Prakash Budur, and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Priestly Shan.

The celebration served as an inspiration for students and attendees, reinforcing the importance of empowering women across all sectors.
