Bangalore, April 5, 2025:
In a landmark spiritual initiative, the global Jain community will observe Navkar Mantra Divas on April 9, 2025, with synchronized events planned across 108 countries. The central celebration will be held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, and will be graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who is expected to address the gathering and highlight the significance of the event.

The core objective of the observance is to promote peace, non-violence, and spiritual harmony through the collective chanting of the Navkar Maha Mantra, one of Jainism’s most revered and ancient spiritual hymns. The chanting is scheduled to take place globally from 8:01 AM to 9:36 AM IST, uniting participants in a synchronized spiritual practice aimed at fostering universal goodwill and unity.

In India alone, over 6,000 locations will participate in the initiative. In Bangalore, the main event will be held at Freedom Park, Gandhinagar, with several additional venues including:

Mahaveer Dharamshala, VV Puram

Ganesh Bagh, Bhagwan Mahaveer Road

Mewar Bhavan, Yeshwantpura

These locations are expected to draw thousands of participants, as the city prepares to be part of this global spiritual movement.

At a press conference held at the Press Club of Bangalore, event organizers emphasized the universal nature of the initiative. “Navkar Mantra Divas is a spiritual movement beyond religious boundaries. It is a call for global peace, and a moment of unity for all of humanity,” said the convener. “The collective chanting aims to generate a powerful wave of positive energy that transcends borders and beliefs.”

In light of the initiative’s growing global significance, the Jain community has also appealed to the Government of India to officially declare April 9th as ‘Navkar Divas’, recognizing it as a national observance dedicated to peace and harmony.
