
Bengaluru, April 10: Sapna Book House, one of India’s most iconic names in the book retail industry, has further expanded its presence in Bengaluru with the opening of its 11th showroom in the city, located at M5 Mall, Electronic City Phase 2. This marks the company’s 24th retail outlet in India.
Established in 1967 by Founder Chairman Sri Suresh Shah, Sapna Book House has grown from a modest 40 sq. ft store into the country’s largest book mall, now operating over 5.5 lakh sq. ft of retail space. The new Electronic City outlet, spread across 9,000 sq. ft, offers an extensive collection of English and Kannada books, along with more than 250 categories of non-book items such as stationery, gifts, toys, art and craft supplies, office essentials, food products, and back-to-school materials.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director Mr. Nitin Shah stated, “A customer walking into the store will surely not be disappointed. The variety of products we offer ensures there is something for everyone.”
Sapna Book House is not only a leader in retail but also a significant contributor to Indian publishing, having published over 7,000 Kannada titles and more than 900 textbooks and competitive exam books. The company manufactures premium stationery under its in-house brands “Store67” and “Beekraft” and operates a strong B2B vertical, supplying books and materials to over 7,500 institutions including universities, schools, corporates, and public libraries.
Recognized by the Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records as India’s largest book showroom, Sapna has received numerous accolades including the Rajyotsava Award for Kannada publication, Best Publisher Awards from the Karnataka Government, FPBAI, FEPI, the Chanakya Award for Best Publisher in 2017, and the Golden Award from FBPAI in 2024.
The new store will also promote Sapna’s additional verticals such as Sapna Ink, a self-publishing platform, and MagicSkool, a school supply division. Customers can also access Sapna’s virtual bookstore “Sapna Kiosk” with over 20 million titles, and its e-commerce platform SapnaOnline.com, which has been recognized as a leading player in the online retail space.
Sapna Book House continues to engage in various community initiatives including book donations, educational scholarships, storytelling sessions, competitions, and healthcare support through its charitable trust.
The company’s Board of Directors includes Mr. Deepak Shah, Mr. Paresh Shah, and Mr. Nijesh Shah.
