
Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Bar Council, in association with the Bangalore Advocates’ Association, organized a silent protest march on April 21, 2025, condemning the brutal assault and attack on Senior Advocate and former President of the Bar Council of India, Shri Sadashiva Reddy, which took place at his office on April 16, 2025.
The protest march commenced at 11:00 AM from the premises of the Karnataka State Bar Council office and concluded at the City Civil Court complex. Hundreds of advocates participated in the march, wearing red bands on their right arms as a symbolic gesture of protest against the inhuman and deplorable act.

The silent protest saw the participation of several dignitaries, including the President of the State Bar Council, Shri Mittalkod S.S., Vice President Shri Vinay B. Mangalekar, and Members Shri Muniyappa, K.B. Naidu, G.M. Anil Kumar, L. Srinivas Babu, H.L. Vishal Raghu, R. Rajanna, B.V. Srinivas, Gowtham Chand S.F., Asif Ali S.H., N. Shivakumar, and N. Madhusudhan.
Office bearers of the Bangalore Advocates’ Association also actively participated, including President Shri Vivek S. Reddy, Secretary Shri Praveen Gowda, Vice President Shri Girish Kumar, and other key members.

Speaking on behalf of the Bar Council, President Shri Mittalkod S.S. expressed deep anguish and strong condemnation of the incident, stating, “The attack on Shri Sadashiva Reddy is absolutely unacceptable. The Council strongly denounces this inhuman act and has submitted a formal representation to the Home Minister and concerned police authorities, demanding strict action against the perpetrators. We have also urged a judicial inquiry to ensure a thorough, impartial investigation and swift justice to prevent recurrence of such incidents.”
The State Bar Council has extended heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, and office bearers of all Bar Associations across the state for their support and participation in the silent protest.
