Brutal Sexual Assault Allegations Against Aides of MP Shreyas Patel Spark Outrage; Victim Alleges Police Inaction and Misuse of Power

Bengaluru, May 2 — In a shocking revelation, a young woman from Holenarasipura in Hassan district has accused two close aides of Hassan MP Shreyas Patel — Gangadhar and Girish — of repeated sexual assault under the pretext of resolving a property dispute. The allegations, brought to light by H.D. Prakhyat Gowda, President of Nirbhaya Foundation, were disclosed during a press conference held at the Press Club of Bengaluru.

According to the victim, the accused not only assaulted her multiple times but also recorded videos of the act and threatened to throw acid on her if she disclosed the matter to the police. When she attempted to file a complaint at the Holenarasipura Town Police Station, Sub-Inspector Abhijith allegedly refused to register an FIR, citing pressure from the MP. The victim further claims that Abhijith verbally abused her and coerced her into signing a false letter with the help of PSI Basavaraju and Woman Constable Mangala.

The situation worsened when the victim was allegedly forced to meet another close associate of MP Shreyas Patel, Puttaraju, who warned her to withdraw the complaint or face serious consequences, including being ostracized in Holenarasipura. Puttaraju is said to have insisted that the FIR could not be filed without MP Patel’s approval.

Disturbed by the lack of support from the police, the victim approached Superintendent of Police Mohammed Sujeet in Hassan. The SP reportedly directed SI Abhijith to register the complaint immediately. However, the officer defied the SP.
