TOYO, MODEC Launch Global Engineering Hub in Bengaluru; 750 Jobs to be Created

Bengaluru, June 13 – Japanese engineering giants TOYO Engineering Corporation and MODEC, Inc. have inaugurated their new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, strengthening their global operations and reinforcing India’s position as a strategic engineering talent hub.

The newly established entity, TOYO MODEC OFS India Pvt. Ltd. (OFS India), is a joint venture between Toyo Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. – a subsidiary of TOYO Japan – and Offshore Frontier Solutions Pte. Ltd., part of the MODEC Group. Spread across 100,000 square feet in Godrej Centre, Indiranagar, the facility will support engineering, procurement, and project execution for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) systems.

Currently staffed with 200 professionals, OFS India aims to expand its workforce to 750 employees within three years, offering high-value job opportunities in offshore energy engineering and support services.

Speaking at the launch, Eiji Hosoi, President & CEO of TOYO Japan, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation and delivering value through global partnerships. MODEC’s President & CEO, Hirohiko Miyata, emphasized Bengaluru’s strategic importance in driving scalable, high-quality project delivery in a fast-evolving offshore industry.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Nakane Tsutomu, Consul General of Japan in Bengaluru, who hailed the initiative as a milestone in Indo-Japanese cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
“This investment underscores Japan’s confidence in India’s engineering prowess. Bengaluru, with its deep talent pool, is the ideal launchpad for such high-tech, globally integrated ventures,” said Mr. Tsutomu.



The new center is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting FPSO projects worldwide, with a focus on efficiency, innovation, and sustainable project execution. Senior leaders from both companies and industry representatives were present at the ceremony.
