DKMS Foundation, Bengaluru Traffic Police Launch Stem Cell Awareness Drive

Bengaluru, September 2025 – The DKMS Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to combating blood cancer, joined hands with the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) to raise awareness about blood cancer and the need for stem cell donors. An education session was held at the Traffic Management Centre, where more than 100 traffic police personnel participated.

The session highlighted the life-saving potential of stem cell therapy for patients battling blood cancer and other blood disorders. DKMS representatives demonstrated how a simple cheek swab is the first step towards becoming a donor and dispelled common myths about the donation process, emphasizing its safety and simplicity.

The initiative reflects a unique partnership, combining the public connect of the Bengaluru Traffic Police with DKMS’s expertise in expanding India’s stem cell donor registry.
