Brindavana Adorned with Navaratna Kavacha; Special Shami Puja Draws Thousands of Devotees

Bengaluru: The Sri Raghavendra Swami Matt at Jayanagar 5th Block witnessed a massive turnout of devotees on Vijayadashami, as celebrations were held with grandeur and devotion.
As per the directions of His Holiness Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji, senior administrator Sri R.K. Vadeendra Acharya led the day’s rituals. The proceedings began with a Phala Panchamrita Abhisheka at the Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swami. The deities, including Sri Gururaya and Mukhyaprana Devaru, were adorned with a resplendent Navaratna Kavacha, followed by the Maha Mangalarati. Later, more than 5,000 devotees were served prasada meals.
In the evening, a special Shami Puja was performed. Prahlada Raja was ceremoniously seated before the sacred Shami tree, and prayers were offered for universal welfare. The ritual concluded with the traditional Banni Mudiya ceremony, conducted with Vedic chants and accompanied by special musical instruments.
Priests, devotees, and religious dignitaries participated in large numbers, said purohit Sri Nandakishore Acharya.
The auspicious day also featured a series of festive events including the Rathotsava (Chariot Festival), Gajavahana Seva, Pallakki Utsava, and Cradle Seva. The celebrations were further enriched with a devotional music programme, Dasavani, presented by Kum. Ananya Belawadi and troupe.
