IMTEX FORMING 2026: Asia’s Largest Metal Forming Show to Position Bengaluru as Global Manufacturing Hub

Bengaluru, 8 January 2026:
Asia’s largest exhibition on metal forming and manufacturing technologies, IMTEX FORMING 2026, is set to bring the global manufacturing fraternity to Bengaluru from 21 to 25 January 2026. Organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the event will showcase the scale, strength, and future of metal forming technologies.

The five-day mega exhibition will feature over 600 exhibitors from 20 countries, spread across four exhibition halls covering a massive 46,000 square metres. Industry leaders, innovators, and technology providers from across the world are expected to converge, making it one of the most influential manufacturing platforms in Asia.

IMTEX FORMING 2026 will host several concurrent shows, including Tooltech, spotlighting machine tool accessories, metrology, CAD/CAM tools and advanced tooling systems; Digital Manufacturing, showcasing additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions; and Weldexpo, organised in association with the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India), featuring cutting-edge welding technologies. Moldex India and Fastenex India, organised by Messe Stuttgart, will also be co-located, focusing on moulding, fasteners, and fixing technologies.

The exhibition will also feature high-impact parallel events such as the 9th International Seminar on Forming Technology (22–23 January), i2 Academia Square for industry-academia collaboration, and the Jagruti–IMTMA Youth Programme aimed at engaging young manufacturing professionals.

With strong group participation from Germany, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan, IMTEX FORMING 2026 is expected to attract visitors from sectors including automotive, aerospace, defence, medical equipment, railways, power, construction equipment, capital goods, electronics, and heavy engineering.

Highlighting industry trends, Ms. Mohini Kelkar, President, IMTMA, noted that metal forming currently accounts for 29% of India’s machine tool market and is poised for strong growth. In FY25, consumption stood at ₹9,139 crore, with exports registering a 6% year-on-year increase.

Mr. Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO, IMTMA, added that laser-based technologies are gaining rapid acceptance across sectors. Exhibitors will showcase fibre laser machines, servo presses, production monitoring systems, welding solutions, and 3D printing technologies, driving indigenous manufacturing and exports.

IMTEX FORMING 2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in accelerating digital transformation, productivity, and global competitiveness of India’s manufacturing ecosystem.
