Bengaluru: Thousands of devotees gathered to seek the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy on the occasion of the Sankranti festival and Thursday special prayers at the Nanjangud Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, located in Jayanagar 5th Block.

The religious programmes were conducted under the divine guidance and blessings of Paramapoojya Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Theertha Sripadangal, with the arrangements overseen by the senior administrator of the Mutt, Sri R.K. Vadindracharya. Priests performed special abhisheka and pooja rituals throughout the day as part of the Sankranti celebrations.
Devotees offered fragrant cardamom garlands with deep devotion, which were accepted and used for a special decoration of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy’s Brindavana, said head priest Nandakishore Acharya. The Brindavana adorned with cardamom garlands drew special attention from the devotees.
Owing to the combined significance of Sankranti and Thursday, the Mutt premises witnessed an overwhelming turnout. A sea of devotees filled the pooja halls, corridors, and the area surrounding the Mutt. Well-organised arrangements, including a systematic queue management, ensured smooth darshan for all.
Devotees received theertha, phala, mantrakshate, and offered prayers while remembering and seeking the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Special Pongal prasada and anna santarpane (community meal) were distributed to thousands of devotees, who returned spiritually fulfilled.
Several special rituals and festive ceremonies were also conducted as part of the Sankranti celebrations, adding to the spiritual fervour at the Mutt.
