SPARSH Hospitals Launches Advanced Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Hennur Road

Bengaluru, January 22, 2026: Reinforcing its stature as one of Bengaluru’s leading multi-specialty hospital networks, SPARSH Group of Hospitals has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit at its Hennur Road facility. With a steady rise in cancer and complex blood disorder cases across Karnataka, the new unit significantly enhances access to advanced, life-saving treatments for patients from Bengaluru, South India, and international destinations.
The dedicated BMT facility will offer comprehensive care for a wide spectrum of haematological conditions, including leukemia, thalassemia, lymphoma, aplastic anemia, and other complex blood disorders, bringing world-class expertise closer to patients’ homes.

The unit was inaugurated by Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, SPARSH Group of Hospitals, in the presence of Mr. Jasdeep Singh, Group CEO, along with senior clinicians and healthcare leaders. The event was further marked by the presence of bone marrow transplant survivors who shared inspiring stories of resilience, recovery, and renewed life following successful treatment at SPARSH Hospitals.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil said, “Every life deserves a stronger second chance. The launch of this Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is a deeply meaningful milestone for SPARSH. For patients and families confronting some of the most challenging medical conditions, this unit represents renewed hope—supported by clinical excellence, advanced technology, and compassionate, end-to-end care.”
The BMT Unit forms a core component of the SPARSH Institute of Cancer Care, the group’s integrated oncology platform that delivers comprehensive cancer care—from early diagnosis and precision treatment to advanced therapies and long-term survivorship—through multidisciplinary expertise and patient-centric care pathways.
The advanced BMT wing is equipped with HEPA-filtered isolation rooms, a dedicated blood bank, stem cell processing laboratories, and in-house testing facilities for HLA typing, infection screening, and drug-level monitoring. Care is delivered by a highly experienced multidisciplinary team comprising haemato-oncologists, BMT physicians, intensivists, and specially trained nursing staff. In addition to conventional transplant procedures, the unit is also equipped to offer CAR-T Cell Therapy and advanced immunotherapies, further strengthening SPARSH Hospitals’ oncology and haematology ecosystem.
With this launch, SPARSH Group of Hospitals continues to expand its advanced clinical capabilities, reaffirming its commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality, and patient-centric healthcare.
