Bengaluru, August 4, 2025: The Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka has issued an order staying the proposed state-wide indefinite strike called by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Trade Unions of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees. The order came in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Sri Sunil J. and others in W.P. No. 23602/2025 (GM-RES-PIL).
The matter was taken up for hearing earlier today, during which the Court took note of the potential disruption to essential public services. Following deliberations, the Hon’ble High Court directed a stay on the strike action planned by the JAC, which has been named as Respondent No. 7 in the case.
In compliance with the Court’s oral direction, legal counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Ms. Deeksha N. Amruthesh, has formally intimated the Joint Action Committee through a written communication. The letter includes a copy of the writ petition, supporting annexures, and the stay order issued by the Court.
The intimation has been made in the broader interest of the public, highlighting the importance of maintaining uninterrupted public transport services in the state. The matter is expected to come up for further hearing in due course.
India’s Largest Office REIT by Asset Value Set for Market Debut
Bengaluru, August 4, 2025: Knowledge Realty Trust, set to become India’s largest and most geographically diverse office REIT, will open its Rs 4,800 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Tuesday, August 5, closing on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The price band is fixed at Rs 95 to Rs 100 per unit.
The Anchor Investor bidding will take place on Monday, August 4. Bids can be placed for a minimum of 150 units, with a minimum investment of approximately Rs 15,000, and in multiples thereafter.
The issue is a fresh issuance of units through the book-building process, in accordance with SEBI REIT Regulations and the REIT Master Circular (July 2025). Up to 75% of the issue (excluding Strategic Investor portion) is reserved for Institutional Investors, and at least 25% for Non-Institutional Investors.

St. Joseph’s University Hosts In-Depth Workshop on Bridging HR Theory with Practical Application
BENGALURU, August 2, 2025: The MSW-HR Forum of the School of Social Work at St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru, organized a thought-provoking and insightful workshop titled “Bridging Theory to Practice: HR Foundations & Human Touch” on August 2, 2025. Held at the university’s PG AV Room, the session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of human resource practices by connecting classroom concepts with real-world challenges in the field.
The resource person for the event was Mr. Manjunatha D.N., HR Business Partner for South India (Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu) at DB Schenker. With over a decade of experience in strategic HR management, Mr. Manjunatha brought a wealth of industry knowledge and practical insights to the session, enriching the academic experience for postgraduate students pursuing a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in Human Resource Management.
The program began with Ms. Samyuktha from the First Year MSW cohort serving as the master of ceremonies. The session opened with a prayer led by Ms. Rita, followed by a warm and engaging welcome address delivered by Ms. Taniya. Mr. Manjunatha was felicitated by Fr. Francis Pinto SJ and Dr. Premajyothi D, faculty coordinators of the HR Forum, who presented him with a shawl and a plant as a gesture of appreciation.
The workshop covered a comprehensive range of topics central to HR practice, including recruitment and selection, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and statutory compliance mechanisms such as ESI, PF, and other salary components. Mr. Manjunatha also highlighted the relevance of various labour laws and HR-related Acts, while addressing practical HR concerns like handling employee grievances and navigating modern workplace dynamics.
With a strong emphasis on soft skills, the session shed light on the critical importance of communication, empathy, and adaptability in the evolving HR landscape. Students were encouraged to ask questions, share views, and participate actively, resulting in a vibrant, interactive session that far exceeded expectations.
Initially scheduled to conclude by noon, the workshop extended until 1:30 p.m., driven by the high level of student enthusiasm and engagement. Attendees from both First and Second Year MSW programs eagerly participated in discussions, seeking clarity on various HR processes and practices. Feedback shared by students Don Boss, Meenakshi, and Shristi reflected a deep appreciation for the practical relevance, clarity, and depth of the session.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Terence from the Second Year MSW class, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the students and faculty.
