Yaticorp India Announces 1,020 AI-Based Job Opportunities Across Karnataka

Caste Survey Committee Urged to Record ‘Holeya’ as Caste Identifier for Subgroup in Karnataka

Bengaluru, May 10, 2025:
In line with the Supreme Court’s directives, Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah has constituted a committee under the leadership of retired Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das to conduct a scientific, comprehensive, and transparent caste census of the Scheduled Castes (SC) in the state.

The Scheduled Castes in Karnataka consist of 101 sub-castes. One such sub-caste, whose members predominantly speak a mix of Tamil and Kannada, is mainly concentrated in districts such as Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Mandya, and Mysuru. This community does not have a distinct script for its language and has historically been categorized under names such as Adi Karnataka, Adi Dravida, and Adi Andhra.

In a special executive committee meeting held on May 10, 2025, the Shri Renuka Yellamma Balaga Development Association (Registered) resolved that during the upcoming caste enumeration for internal reservation, members of this sub-caste should be registered under the caste name ‘Holeya’.

This resolution was announced by Association President M. Nagendra during a press conference at the Press Club of Bangalore, held in the presence of other community leaders. The organization emphasized the importance of correctly identifying the community in the caste census to ensure accurate representation and access to social justice measures under the internal reservation framework.

KASSIA to Celebrate Platinum Jubilee on May 17, 2025

Bengaluru, May 13, 2025 — The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) is all set to mark a historic milestone as it celebrates its Platinum Jubilee, commemorating 75 years of dedicated service to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Karnataka.

The grand celebration will take place on May 17, 2025, at the Gnana Jyothi Auditorium, Palace Road, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru. The event will be inaugurated by Sri Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka. He will be joined by several dignitaries including Sri D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, Sri Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, Hon’ble Minister for Small Scale Industries, and Sri T. Raghu Murthy, MLA, Challakere & Chairman, KSSIDC, as Guests of Honour. Sri Priya Krishna, MLA, Govindarajanagar will also grace the occasion.

Top bureaucrats from the Government of Karnataka, including Dr. S. Selvakumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Sri Ramandeep Chowdhary, IAS, Secretary (MSME & Mines), Smt. Gunjan Krishna, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development, and Sri Nitesh Patil, IAS, Director, MSME, are among the invited special guests. Sri A.L. Ravindran, CGM & Chief Business Officer, SIDBI, will also participate along with other departmental heads.

The celebration will commence at 5:00 PM, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister launching the Platinum Jubilee Logo, KASSIA’s 75-Year Journey, and several key digital initiatives including the B2B Portal, Udyog Portal, and e-Commerce Portal. He will also release the KASSIA Platinum Jubilee Industrial Directory and felicitate past presidents of the organization.

Established in 1949 by freedom fighter Sri R.S. Aradhya, who served as Founder President for 18 years, KASSIA has been a cornerstone in the development of MSMEs across Karnataka. Over the last seven decades, 54 Presidents have helmed the organization, guiding it through phases of growth and transformation.

Today, with over 13,000 direct members and 132 affiliated associations, KASSIA stands as one of the most influential voices for MSMEs in the region. The association continues to champion policies and initiatives that foster innovation, generate employment, and contribute to the state’s industrial progress. Karnataka’s MSME sector currently contributes 2.2% to India’s GDP, underscoring its national significance.

ಮೇ 5ರಿಂದ ಮೇ 17ರ ವರೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಾಂತ ಕೊರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮನೆ ಮನೆ ಗಣತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಈ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ನಿಖರ ದತ್ತಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಾಧಾರಿತ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಈ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕೊರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳು ಶತಮಾನದ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿರುವ ಪೈಕಿ. ಇಂತಹ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಜನತೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಜಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಇಂದು ಕೂಡ ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿದೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಈ ಗಣತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಂಘಟಕರು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

“ಜಾತಿ ಕಾಲಂನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ‘ಕೊರಮ’ ಅಥವಾ ‘ಕೊರಚ’ ಎಂದು ನಮೂದಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಎಚ್. ಟಿ. ಜಯಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎನ್. ಹರೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಈ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ ಕೊರಮ-ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಬುನಾದಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕೊರಮ-ಕೊರಚ ನಿಗಮ ರಚನೆಗೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯ:
ಸಂಘದ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಕೊರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ನಿಗಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಿಖರ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಬೆಳಗಿದ ನಂತರ, ಈ ನಿಗಮದ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯು ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘದ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊರಮ-ಕೊರಚ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಗಣತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸಂಘದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
