ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 23: ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದ ಪಹಲ್ಗಾಂನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 22ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಭೀಕರ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ದಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಉಲೇಮಾಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮುಖಂಡರು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಖಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ದಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಯಾದವರು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯಾವುದೇ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಅಥವಾ ಸೈನಿಕ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದ ಅಮಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ವಲಯವತ್ತಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

“ಈ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರದ ಕೃತ್ಯವು ಅಮಾನವೀಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದೇಶದ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೋಮು ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಧರ್ಮವು ಇಂತಹ ಕ್ರೂರತೆಗೆ ಎಡವಬಲ್ಲದಲ್ಲ. ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕುರಾನ್‌ನ ಸೂರಾ ಅಲ್-ಮಾಇದಾ (5:32) ನಲ್ಲಿ – ‘ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು (ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ) ಕೊಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಇಡೀ ಮನುಕುಲವನ್ನೇ ಕೊಂದಂತೆ’ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ನಾಯಕರ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಕೃತ್ಯವು ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಧರ್ಮದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಅಥವಾ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಸಮರ್ಥನೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭದ್ರತಾ ಪಡೆಗಳು ಈ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿ, ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಯಾತ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ನಿರಂತರ ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭದ್ರತೆ ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ, ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆಯ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. “ಇಂತಹ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾತಿ ಅಥವಾ ಧರ್ಮದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ದ್ವೇಷ ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಬಾರದು. ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ನಾಯಕರು ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಶಾಂತಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅವರು ವಿನಂತಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Narayan Seva Sansthan to Host Free Limb Fitment Camp in Bengaluru for Third Consecutive YearOver 700 Differently-Abled Individuals to Benefit from the Initiative

Bengaluru, April 24 – Continuing its commitment to supporting the differently-abled, Udaipur-based NGO Narayan Seva Sansthan will host its third annual Narayan Limb and Caliper Fitment Camp in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 27. The free camp will take place at Maratha Hostel Ground, Bull Temple Road in Basavanagudi, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The event is expected to benefit over 700 pre-registered individuals who have lost limbs due to accidents or other medical conditions. The prosthetic limbs and calipers, developed using advanced German technology, will be fitted free of cost, giving many recipients a renewed sense of mobility and independence.

Branch Head Vinod Jain stated that Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working for more than four decades to bring mobility solutions to the doorsteps of differently-abled individuals across India. A preparatory measurement camp held in the city on February 2 saw the participation of over 1,050 patients, of which 694 were selected for prosthetic limb casting.

“This is not just about mobility; it’s about dignity and inclusion,” Jain said. “Many of these individuals had become dependent on their families. With the support of this initiative, they are being empowered to rejoin mainstream society.”

The official poster for the camp was released during a press conference attended by senior officials including Director Bhagwan Prasad Gaur, In-Charge Khubilal Menaria, and Lalit Lohar.

The camp will also include walking training sessions, led by a 60-member technical team from the Sansthan, to ensure recipients adapt effectively to their new limbs. Additionally, free meals will be provided to all beneficiaries throughout the day.

A number of dignitaries, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, have been invited for the inauguration ceremony, scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Over 500 social workers, community leaders, and other prominent citizens are expected to attend the event.

Narayan Seva Sansthan conducts similar fitment camps every week in various parts of India and internationally in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Meru, and Nepal. On average, the organization fits around 1,800 prosthetic limbs each month.

Founded in 1985 by Padma Shri awardee Kailash Manav, the organization has supported lakhs of differently-abled individuals through medical assistance, education, vocational training, and sports development. Its current president, Prashant Agarwal, was honored with a National Award in 2023 for his contributions to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.

To date, Narayan Seva Sansthan has fitted over 40,000 artificial limbs and continues to expand its efforts with large-scale missions like this one in Karnataka.

The organization has urged citizens and philanthropists to come forward and support the initiative, which it describes as a “movement of compassion, dignity, and social responsibility.”

Kammavari Sangham Rejects Caste Census 2025 Figures, Demands Reclassification and Accurate Enumeration

Bengaluru, April 24, 2025 — The Kammavari Sangham of Karnataka has raised serious concerns over the recently released Caste Census Report 2025, alleging significant discrepancies in the enumeration of the Kamma and Kammavari communities. At a press conference held at the Press Club of Bengaluru today, the Sangham’s leadership categorically rejected the census findings and called upon the state government to initiate a comprehensive review of the data.

Addressing the media, Sri Rajagopala Naidu, President of the Kammavari Sangham, along with committee members and district-level representatives, stated that the figures published in the report were grossly understated. According to the census, the community populations are listed as follows:

Kamma: 1,11,739

Kamma Naidu: 18,361

Kammavari: 1,745

Naidus: 1,50,601


The Sangham, however, contends that the actual population of the Kamma and Kammavari communities exceeds 20 lakh, spread across more than ten districts in Karnataka.

“The figures presented in the census are not only erroneous but have serious implications for the socio-political standing of our community,” said Sri Rajagopala Naidu. “Such misrepresentation could result in inadequate political representation, reduced access to welfare schemes, and diminished opportunities in education and employment.”

The community is currently classified under Category 3A of the state’s reservation system, as per Government Order No. SWD 255 BCA 2000 dated March 30, 2002, which allots 4% reservation to 35 castes, including the Kamma community. The Sangham argues that within this category, several castes are economically and educationally better placed, making it difficult for the Kammavari community to compete on equal terms.

“Despite repeated appeals over the years, our community continues to face systemic challenges in securing government jobs and educational opportunities,” said a Sangham spokesperson. “We strongly urge the government to consider reclassifying the Kammavari community under Category 1B to ensure equitable access to affirmative action benefits.”

Calling the caste census “unscientific and flawed,” the Sangham has demanded that the Karnataka government undertake a transparent review of the enumeration process and rectify the discrepancies to ensure accurate representation of the community in official records.

The press conference concluded with a collective appeal to the state authorities for justice, proper classification, and inclusion. Senior community leaders, elders, and members of the media were present at the event, which also marked the beginning of a broader campaign for recognition and equitable treatment.

“ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 3 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಜೋಗಿ ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ 25,546 ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಚಿಸಿರುವುದು ಹಾಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಪದವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಒಪ್ಪಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. 1931ರ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜಾತಿಗಣತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 14,909 ಜೋಗಿ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ 94 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರವೂ ಅಂಕಿ ಅಂಶಗಳು ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಅತಿಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗ-1ರ ಅಂತರ್ಗತ ಜೋಗಿ ಜನಾಂಗವು 46 ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅರೆಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಜಾತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು. ಈ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ತಪ್ಪು ಅಂಕಿ ಅಂಶಗಳು ಮಾರಕವಾಗಲಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಮಹಾಸಭೆಯವರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

“ಜಾತಿಗಣತಿ ವರದಿ ತಯಾರಿಸುವಾಗ ಜೋಗಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮುಖಂಡರನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸದೆ, ಅವರಿಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆಯದೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ವರದಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ತಪ್ಪು ಹಾಗೂ ದ್ರೋಹಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್.ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರು “ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ವರದಿಗೊಳಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಎಂತಹ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ. ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮವು ಕೇವಲ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲ, ಅದರ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೂ ಸಹ ಪ್ರೇರಕವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ವರದಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳವರೆಗೂ ತಲುಪಿದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗೆ ದಾರಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ”ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಡಾ.ವೈಷ್ಣವಿ ಅವರು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈಗ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎರಡು ವಿಶೇಷ ನೀರಿನ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕುಗಳು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ನಿರಂತರ ನೀರಿನ ಪೂರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಸೇವಾ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಯ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ನೌಕರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಕಚೇರಿಯ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಕಾರ್ಯಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ಸುಗಮವಾಗಲಿವೆ.
