ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಸ್. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರು  ‘ಚಾರಿತ್ರಿಕ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಪುಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ತಾಣಗಳತ್ತ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಯಣ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ  ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಯು.ಆರ್. ಅನಂತಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದಾಗ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗದು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯಿಕರಣಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಿಂದ ಪರಿಸರ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದರು. 25 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅನಂತಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಘಂಟೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಮ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಒಂದು ಉದ್ಯಮವಾಗಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಒಂದು ಜ್ಞಾನಶಿಸ್ತು. ಈ ಉದ್ಯಮಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯು ನೈತಿಕ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. ಚರಿತ್ರೆಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ದೊರಕುತ್ತದೆ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಚಾರಿತ್ರಿಕ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟರು.

ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿಯೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಇತಿಹಾಸಕಾರ ಎಸ್. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೈತಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ತರುವಂತೆಯೇ ಚಾರಿತ್ರಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲಾ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮದು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಮೊಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.

ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಆಕರ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಗುವುದು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬದುಕಲು ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಸಾಧನವಾಗಬೇಕೇ ವಿನಃ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ಸಾಧನವಾಗಬಾರದು. ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ವಂಸಕವಾದ ವಿಚಾರಗಳೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ, ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ವಿಚಾರಗಳೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜ ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಬೇಕೇ ವಿನಃ ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಬಾರದೆಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸಕಾರರನ್ನು ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಟೀಕಿಸಿದರು. ಸಂಕುಚಿತ ಮತ್ತು ನೇತ್ಯಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮುನ್ನೆಲೆಗೆ ತಂದು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾವೋದ್ವೇಗವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡದೆ, ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯದ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನೆಲೆಗೆ ತರಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.


ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮಹಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ  ಆರ್. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಪ್ರತೀವರ್ಷ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ
28 ಕೋಟಿ ಜನ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 4,10,000 ವಿದೇಶಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ 319 ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣಗಳಿವೆ. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟರು.


ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದಲ್ಲಿ
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕೌತುಕಗಳು ವಿಷಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಡಾ ಹಂ.ಗು. ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕದಂಬರ ಚಿನ್ನದ ನಾಣ್ಯ ಪದ್ಮಟಂಕಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ರೋಮನ್ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಟರ ಚಿನ್ನದ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳು ಚಲಾವಣೆಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು.  ಅಬ್ರಾಹಂ ಬಿನ್ ಯೀಯೂ ಎಂಬ ಯಹೂದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿ 12ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಮ್ರದ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆ ತೆರೆದು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ  ಗುಲಾಮ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಗಳನ್ನು ಗುಲಾಮ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೈರೋದ ಗಿನಿಜಾ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಎಸ್.ಕೆ. ಅರುಣಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅಸಮಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಭವ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕವಾದ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ತುರ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಶನಿವಾರ, ನವೆಂಬರ್ 23, 2024: ದೇಶದ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್ ಕಂಪನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ‘ಲೈಫ್ ಈಸ್ ಕಾಲಿಂಗ್’ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ತನ್ನ 11ನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ‘ಥಂಪ್!’ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಹಾಫ್ ಮ್ಯಾರಥಾನ್ ಮತ್ತು 10ಕೆ ಓಟವನ್ನು ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 1, 2024ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದೆ. ನಾಯಂಡಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ರಿಂಗ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹಿಂಭಾಗ ನೈಸ್ ಟೋಲ್ ಪ್ಲಾಜಾ ಬಳಿ ಓಟ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಫಿಟ್‌ನೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ನೀಡಲು ‘ಸೆಲೆಬ್ರೇಶನ್ ರನ್ ಸೀರೀಸ್’ ಅಡಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಓಟವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದೆ.

ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 5.30ಕ್ಕೆ ಓಟ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ 32ಕೆ ರನ್, 21.1 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಹಾಫ್ ಮ್ಯಾರಥಾನ್, 10 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಓಟಗಳು ಇರಲಿವೆ. 16 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರು ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬಹುದು. ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆರಹಿತ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ 5 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಓಟ/ನಡಿಗೆ ಇರಲಿದೆ. 11 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬಹುದು.

ಡಿ.1ರಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ವಿಶ್ವ ಏಡ್ಸ್ ದಿನದಂದೇ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ‘5ಕೆ ಅಡ್ವಕೆಸಿ ರನ್’ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ಸ್ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಇನ್ ಮಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಓಟದ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಚ್‌ ಐವಿ/ಏಡ್ಸ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

61-Year-Old African Doctor morbidly Obese successfully treated for End-Stage Renal Disease via Robot-Assisted Kidney Transplant at Fortis Hospital Cunningham Road

Bengaluru, 22 November, 2024: Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road successfully performed a life- enhancing robot-assisted kidney transplant on 61-year-old African doctor suffering from End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The patient recovered remarkably well and was discharged just six days post-surgery.

Dr Benson, the patient had been battling End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) for over 6-7 months, relying on regular haemodialysis to manage his failing kidney function. His condition was further complicated by morbid obesity, and a long-standing history of hypertension, both of which significantly increased the risks associated with surgery. Despite seeking treatment at multiple hospitals across several countries, Dr Benson was refused treatment due to the complexity of his condition, compounded by obesity and co-morbid condition.

Desperate for a solution, Dr. Benson and his family turned to Fortis Cunningham Road for help.
