~Tourism from India to South Africa increases by 43% year-on-year in 2023″~India solidifies its position as one amongst South African Tourism’s top-3 priority markets

Bengaluru, 15th February 2024: Determined to build over the strong travel momentum witnessed in the previous year, South African Tourism wrapped up the penultimate chapter of its 20th Annual India Roadshow at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru. Kickstarted on 12th February in Jaipur along with a panel discussion on 11th February, the trade schedule entered the streets of Delhi on 13th February and Ahmedabad on 14thFebruary. The trade schedule will now move forward and conclude in Mumbai on 16th February.

India is currently one of the fastest growing outbound travel markets, outpacing Asia and may countries around the world. The country is amongst the top-3 focus markets for South African Tourism and holds immense potential in the years to come. The 20th multi-city schedule achieves a vital milestone for Southa African Tourism, marking more than two decades of its growing investments in India. Led by Ms. NeliswaNkani – Hub Head – Middle East, India and Southeast Asia, South African Tourism the event welcomed nearly 350 travel trade partners in Bengaluru and shared critical local market insights enabling them to capitalise on growing demand. In addition, the tourism board partnered with the hotel to offer authentic South African cuisine and a glimpse of its culture to the guests.

Strengthening the relationship between Rainbow Nation’s indigenous businesses and Indian buyers, the roadshow hosted 42 prominent trade exhibitors from South Africa. The congregation allowed Indian trade partners to evaluate their inventory and identify potential future collaborations. It is worth noting.amongst the local businesses were 14 SMMEs who along with their counterparts presented a portfolio comprising of 40% new products showcasing diversified and affordable offerings. Such events present businesses from both the nations a platform to engage and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

Commenting on the occasion Neliswa Nkani, Hub Head – Middle East, India and South East Asia, South African Tourism said “The 20th Annual India Roadshow marks more than two decades of South African Tourism’s commitment to the Indian market. 2023 emerged as another successful year for us and we witnessed 43% increase in travellers from India compared to its previous year. This achievement would not have been possible without relentless efforts from our Indian trade partners and the affection showered upon the Rainbow Nation by India travellers; we are truly grateful.”

She continues “Post resumption of travel activities we have seen India’s outbound tourism market bounceback much stronger compared to rest of the world. Given the immense potential that lies in the Indian market, it continues to remain amongst our top three focus market for 2024 and holds a position of strategic importance. We hope to keep this momentum going and welcome “more & more” Indian travellers to the Rainbow Nation.”

Emerging as one of the fastest markets for South African Tourism in India, Bengaluru displayed a significant growth of 80% in arrivals in 2023. Overall, too, South Africa witnessed a 43% increase in inbound travellers from India on a year-on-year basis. Interestingly, amongst inbound travellers from Bengaluru 53% visited the Rainbow Nation for business purposes. To further propel this momentum, the tourism board will continue with its efforts to improve accessibility and encourage dialogues aimed establishing direct routes to boost tourism and trade between the two nations.

Promoting the destination through the eyes of Indian influencers and entice consumers to explore new provinces, South African Tourism is currently running its flagship “More & More” brand campaign across target cities. The tourism board is also set to host its renown Corporate Think Tank in the coming months to engage with Indian corporates and address their business and MICE travel needs. At present, several stop-over flights fly from India to South Africa, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Air Seychelles.

Child Cancer Experts Stress on Early Identification of Symptoms for Better Outcomes

Over 50,000 children are afflicted by cancer every year in India

BENGALURU / February 14, 2024: The incidence of child cancer in India is approximately 38-124 per million children with over 50,000 children being diagnosed with the dreaded disease each year. This incidence has been increasing over the last two-three decades. This was said by cancer experts of Sammprada Hospital, a leading cancer hospital in Bengaluru.

Said Dr.Intezar Mehdi, Consultant Paediatrics Oncology and Hematalogy, Sammprada Hospital, Bengaluru: “In majority of cancer cases in children, the exact cause is not known. In a few cases, genetic, environmental and infections may play a role. The good news is that paediatric cancers cure rates are much better than cancer in adults as the disease biology is different. In the West, 80-85% of child patients of cancer are fully cured. In India, cure rates have been improving in the last couple of decades. To increase outcomes, it is important that symptoms are recognized early, and treatment begins the earlier possible.”

Talking about the serious signs and symptoms of cancer in children that parents should not ignore, he said: “Generally signs and symptoms of childhood cancer are non-specific and subtle. High index of suspicion is the key to early diagnosis. Parents should watch out for unexplained fever, weight loss and night sweats, glands in the neck, armpit or groin, headaches, vomiting and seizures or neurological problems, swelling in the abdomen or chest and bone pains and swelling, and bleeding or pallor. These symptoms may be early warning signs of cancer in children.”

Leukemia, lymphomas and brain tumors are the most common cancers in children. Wilms tumor, neuroblastoma, bone tumors, soft tissue tumors, and liver and eye tumors are other common ones.

Dr.Suma ,Consultant Paediatrics Oncology, Sammprada Hospital, Bengaluru ,There is a wide care gap between the availability of services in rural areas compared to urban areas. This gap needs to be bridged. Government schemes for treatment of child cancer are essential. Better collaboration between government and the private sector, as well as between state, national and international agencies would go a long way in improving the situation for children with cancer in the country. Philanthropic NGOs can play a big role in ensuring treatment for thousand child patients each year.”

RV ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಆಫ್ ಫಿಸಿಯೋಥೆರಪಿಯು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಬದ್ಧತೆಗೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು BMTC ಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ, ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ MHRD ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅಭಿಯಾನದಂತಹ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆ. ಇದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ನಗರ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು 6 ಔಟ್ ಪೇಷೆಂಟ್ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಫಿಸಿಯೋಥೆರಪಿ ಕ್ಲಿನಿಕಲ್ ಸೇವೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉನ್ನತ ದರ್ಜೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

RV College of Physiotherapy Hosts National Level Post-graduate Convention “RVPGCON 2024”

RV College of Physiotherapy proudly announces the commencement of the RVPGCON 2024, a prestigious National Level Postgraduate Convention scheduled for February 16th and 17th, 2024. This momentous event commemorates 20 years of RVCP’s dedication to excellence in Physiotherapy education and practice.
RVPGCON 2024 aims to convene interns, Postgraduate students, practicing Physiotherapists, Academicians, Entrepreneurs, and Researchers from across the nation. The convention will serve as a platform to delve into current best practices, explore the latest developments, and envision future trends in the field of Physiotherapy.
Scheduled to take place at the esteemed Shivananda Sharma Memorial Auditorium, DAPM RV Dental College, JP Nagar, Bengaluru, the convention invites participants to embrace its tagline, “Unlearn to relearn… Adapting to new realities.”
Pre and post-convention workshops will be conducted at prominent hospitals such as Sakra World Hospital, MS Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital, and RV College of Physiotherapy and Dental College on February 15th and 18th, respectively.
