ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಾಯಕಿಯರ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಸಂಘದ ನೂತನ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಮಾಮಣಿ ಕೆ.ಎಲ್ (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು) ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ, ಈ ಬಾರಿಯೂ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತಿರುವುದು ಸಂಘದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಉಮಾಮಣಿ, ಸಂಘಟನೆಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದಿಂದ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಿಷ್ಠೆ, ಹೋರಾಟ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಂದ ಏಕಮತದಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗೊಂಡರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅನೇಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಾಯಕಿಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಸಂಘಟನೆಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು.

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ. ಪ್ರೇಮಾ (ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ) ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ –

ನಿರ್ಮಲಾ ಹರಿಹರ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ,

ವಿಶಾಲಾಕ್ಷಿ (ಮಂಗಳೂರು) ಖಜಾಂಚಿ,

ಪ್ರೇಮಾ (ಚನ್ನಪಟ್ಟಣ) ಸಹ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ


ಎಂಬ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೂತನ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದರು.

ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತಿರುವ ಉಮಾಮಣಿ ಕೆ.ಎಲ್ ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ, ವೇತನ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಸೇವಾ ನಿಯಮಾವಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸರ್ಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಚನಾತ್ಮಕ ಮಾತುಕತೆಗಳನ್ನು ವೇಗಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಬದ್ಧರಾಗಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. “ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಂದಿಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ಆದ್ಯತೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾದ ನಿರ್ಣಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮತ್ತು ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ವಿಸ್ತೃತ ತಂಡದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದು, ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆಗೆ ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸಂಘದ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಉಮಾಮಣಿ ಕೆ.ಎಲ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸಂಘಟಿತವಾಗಿ, ಹೋರಾಟಪರವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪೋಷಣಾ ಸೇವೆಗಳು, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪಾತ್ರ ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಇದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಸಭೆಯ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಉಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮತ್ತು ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಸಹ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವರು. ಸಂಘವು ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಹಿತಚಿಂತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಮುದಾಯಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದೆ.

ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಸಂಘದ ಈ ನೂತನ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಮತ್ತು ನಗರ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಹೊಸ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಸಂಘದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

NMIMS Hyderabad Hosts ‘Step Up For Cancer’ Walk to Promote Early Detection and Preventive Healthcare

Hyderabad, December 2025:
Against the backdrop of India’s rapidly rising cancer burden, SVKM’s NMIMS Hyderabad mobilised its student community, faculty and staff for the ‘Step Up For Cancer Walkathon 2025’, an awareness initiative led by the School of Pharmacy and Technology Management (SPTM) with the support of Udaan and XLR8.

The initiative comes at a critical time. As per the National Cancer Registry Programme of the ICMR, the country registered over 14.6 lakh cancer cases in 2022, and one in every nine Indians is now at risk. With cases expected to increase by another 12–13 per cent by 2025, health experts continue to stress the need for widespread awareness and early diagnosis.

Walkathon Highlights Need for Early Awareness

Participants assembled at the NMIMS Hyderabad campus with a common purpose—to advocate for preventive healthcare. The 5-km walk along SEZ Road saw the participation of nearly 60 students, faculty members, volunteers and staff.

Before the walk began, an awareness session was conducted to brief attendees on early symptoms, screening methods and the importance of prompt medical evaluation. Speakers emphasised that self-examination, routine check-ups and attention to bodily changes can significantly improve the chances of early detection. Each participant was handed a purple ribbon to mark solidarity with cancer survivors and those undergoing treatment.

Leaders Emphasise Community Responsibility

Speaking about the impact of the initiative, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Deputy Director and Associate Dean, SPTM, said the walkathon reaffirmed NMIMS Hyderabad’s dedication to health education, social responsibility and community engagement.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Suman Naredla, Director, NMIMS Hyderabad, noted that the event helped strengthen public understanding of preventive healthcare. “Awareness, vigilance and timely check-ups can save lives. The enthusiasm shown by our students motivates us to organise more such programmes,” he said.

Smooth Conduct and Closing Acknowledgements

The event was supported by comprehensive on-ground arrangements, including security personnel, first-aid facilities and hydration stations. Individuals with pre-existing medical conditions were advised against participating to ensure safety.

The walk concluded with a brief closing interaction during which winners were recognised, and volunteers, faculty coordinators and support teams were appreciated for their efforts in making the event a success.

New India–Japan Academic Roadmap to Power Next-Gen Learning & Innovation

India–Japan Conclave Strengthens Global Education and AI Collaboration

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) hosted a senior delegation from the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) at the India–Japan Higher Education Conclave 2025, held on the theme “Future of Global Education in India and Japan: Exchanging Knowledge and Innovation; AI & The Future of Jobs.”

Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr. M. C. Sudhakar inaugurated the event, noting India’s rapid higher education reforms and the strategic importance of deeper academic partnerships with Japan. Mr. Dilip Thakore, Editor of EducationWorld, delivered the Guest of Honour address, followed by remarks from former Additional Chief Secretary Mr. K. Jairaj, IAS (Retd.). Randstad India MD & CEO Mr. Viswanath PS presented the keynote.

The UTokyo delegation, led by Professor (Dr.) Kaori Hayashi and Professor (Dr.) Satsuki Shioyama, discussed expanding joint research, student mobility and long-term collaboration. JGU’s Founding Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, highlighted that JGU is the first Indian university with both a student exchange agreement and a short-term study abroad programme with UTokyo, aligned with India’s NEP 2020 and Japan’s global engagement goals.

Professor Hayashi encouraged more Indian students to study in Japan, noting that UTokyo currently hosts only about 80. She emphasised Japan’s safe environment, equal fee structures and increasing English-medium courses.

A new Short-Term Study Abroad Programme was signed, enabling 40 JGU students to visit UTokyo each summer for academic and cultural immersion.

Discussions throughout the tour focused on dual-degree pathways, faculty exchange, hybrid teaching, co-taught courses and collaborative research. The conclave concluded with commitments to build a long-term roadmap for deeper India–Japan academic partnerships and future-ready innovation ecosystems.

Aakash Educational Services Signs MoU with Indian Army to Extend Scholarships for Soldiers’ Families

Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a leading national institution in test preparation, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to support the educational and welfare needs of Army personnel and their families. The collaboration covers serving soldiers, veterans, gallantry awardees, personnel with disabilities, and the families of soldiers who lost their lives in service.

Under the MoU, AESL will extend a range of fee waivers and scholarships to students from Army families seeking admission at any of its centres across the country. The benefits include:

Full waiver of all fee components (excluding registration charges) for the wards of soldiers who died in the line of duty.

100% tuition fee waiver for children of gallantry awardees and those of personnel with disabilities exceeding 20%.

20% tuition fee waiver for the wards of serving and retired Army personnel, applicable after adjusting other scholarships.

These concessions supplement AESL’s existing scholarship schemes that are open to all students.

Focus on Guidance and Career Support

Beyond financial support, AESL will also provide structured mentoring, academic counselling and career guidance to Army wards throughout the duration of the MoU. These services will be delivered through both online and offline platforms to ensure accessibility for families stationed across diverse regions.
