First Batch of Students of ‘Samsung Innovation Campus’ in Bengaluru Graduate with Certificates in AI and Coding & Programming; Flagship CSR Program Aims to Make Students Job-Ready with Future Tech Skills

• As part of the Samsung Innovation Campus program, a total of 3,000 students will be imparted skills in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming in 8 cities across India in 2023
• First batch of Coding & Programming course in Bengaluru culminated with a Hackathon

BENGALURU, India – May 25, 2023 – Samsung India’s flagship CSR program Samsung Innovation Campus concluded the AI and Coding & Programming courses for its first batch of 196 students in Bengaluru, reiterating Samsung’s commitment to being India’s strong partnerships and working alongside the Government in its mission to empower the country’s youth and #PoweringDigitalIndia.

The students who were mentored and trained at Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Ramanagara, Government Polytechnic College, Channapatna and Sri Jayachamarajendra Polytechnic College, Bangalore were granted certificates of course completion at a felicitation ceremony. The students were felicitated by officials from Samsung and ESSCI, which is executing the program through its nationwide network of approved training and education partners.

The problem statements included topics such as developing a chatbot for e-governance support, an app based identifier for counterfeit currency detection to combat the issue of inflationary trends, development of an AIOT based cloud system to identify parking spots to avoid congestion, a shared platform with multi-lingual setting to enable education imparting in regional languages and healthcare data storage and security.

Through this initiative, we want to empower the youth and create opportunities for them in future tech domains, further boosting India’s growth story and strengthening our commitment to Powering Digital India.”

Samsung India launched its Samsung Innovation Campus program at eight campuses across the country with the aim of upskilling 3,000 less-privileged youth in future tech domains such as AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming and helping them get relevant job placements.

Samsung Innovation Campus aims to upskill youth aged 18-25 years in future technologies and enhance their employability. These are key technology skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

During the program, participants receive instructor-led classroom training through approved training and education partners of ESSCI across the country.

Youth enrolled in the program are undergoing classroom training and will complete their hands-on capstone project work in their selected technology areas from Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data, and Coding & Programming. They will also be imparted soft skills training to enhance their employability and provided job placements in relevant organizations.

Those opting for the AI course will undergo 270 hours of theory training and complete 80 hours of project work while those doing the IoT or the Big Data course will undergo 160 hours of training and complete 80 hours of project work. Participants opting for the Coding & Programming course will do 80 hours of training and be part of a Hackathon.

Dedicated foot care soldiers to get awards

International conference on diabetic foot care will be held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: An international conference – PODOCON – will be held in Bengaluru on May 27, 2023, to discuss topics related to advanced technologies and therapeutics in diabetic foot.

The fifth edition of PODOCON – “DFTech,” will serve as a forum to discuss cutting-edge dressing technologies, stem cell and regenerative therapy, the role of artificial intelligence in wound care, gene therapy, and guidelines for therapeutics and offloading.

PODOCON is also introducing the “Young Achievers Awards” for innovation in patient care, process, product usage, and various other categories for the year 2023. The awards will be presented to the achievers who have effectively used sophisticated wound care treatments in their practice.

AICTE Chairman Confers Degrees Upon 610 Students at 14th Convocation of GITAM Bengaluru

Advising fresh graduates, the AICTE head said the key to success lies in one’s ability to learn life-long, to stay curious, and to be open to new ideas

Bengaluru, May 20, 2023: Awarding degrees to 610 recent graduates from the 2022–2023 Batch, the Bengaluru campus of the prestigious GITAM (Deemed to be University) held its 14th convocation ceremony on Saturday. The chief guest for the event was Prof. (Dr.) T G Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
The degrees were awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students of engineering (509), science (19) and management (82) disciplines. The GITAM President Gold Medals were awarded to 10 students for outstanding academic performance.

Delivering his convocation address, Prof. (Dr.) T G Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE said, “Innovation has always been the lifeblood of education, and today, as we gather to celebrate the accomplishments of these remarkable graduates, we recognize the urgent need for continued innovation in the realm of education.
