23ನೇ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 2023ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ, ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯಿಂದ “ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತೋತ್ಸವ”

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಎಂದೇ ಸುಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಹರ್ಡೇಕರ್ ಮಂಜಪ್ಪನವರು ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ 1913ನೇ ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಮುರುಘಾಮಠದ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಮೃತ್ಯುಂಜಯಪ್ಪಗಳವರನ್ನು ಒಡಗೂಡಿ, ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ದಾವಣಗೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ, ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೆ, ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಾಚರಣೆಗಳು ವಿಶ್ವದಾದ್ಯಂತ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತಸದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಮಹಾಮಾನವತಾವಾದಿ ವಿಶ್ವಗುರು ಬಸವಣ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಶಿವಶರಣರ ಧೈಯೋದ್ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಡಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ, ದೇಶವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಾರುವ ಸದುದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ 1964ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಜಿ ಹಂಗಾಮಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಬಿ.ಡಿ. ಜತ್ತಿಯವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿ ಕಳೆದ 59 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಹತ್ವಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ ಅನೇಕ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ, ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿ ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು:

• 1965 – ಭಾರತದ ಉಪರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಡಾ. ಜಾಕೀರ್ ಹುಸೇನ್‌ರವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿ ಆಚರಣೆ.

1966 – ಹಂಪಿಯಿಂದ ಬಸವ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣದವರೆಗೆ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪಾದಯಾತ್ರೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಬಸವತತ್ವ ಪ್ರಚಾರ

1967 – ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಅಪಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು.

1979 – ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಅಮೇರಿಕ ದೇಶದ ನ್ಯೂಯಾರ್ಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಷಿಂಗ್‌ಟನ್‌ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿ ಆಚರಣೆ,

1994 – ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ವೃತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಉಪರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ.ಆರ್. ನಾರಾಯಣನ್‌ರವರಿಂದ ಅಶ್ವರೂಢ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಕಂಚಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ ಅನಾವರಣ,

2003 – ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಟಲ್ ಬಿಹಾರಿ ವಾಜಪೇಯಿರವರಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ವೃತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರರ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗೆ ಮಾಲಾರ್ಪಣೆ.

2005 – ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಶರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮಹಾಯಾತ್ರೆ

2006 – ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ ಮನಮೋಹನ ಸಿಂಗ್‌ರವರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ ದಾರ್ಶನಿಕ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಬಸವ ನಾಣ್ಯದ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅರಮನೆ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ

• 2013 – 1913ನೇ ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಶರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮಹಾಯಾತ್ರೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

2017 – ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸುವರ್ಣಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಮತ್ತು ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಯವರಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಿತ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಹುಭಾಷಾ ವಚನ ಅನುವಾದ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 23 ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ವಚನ ಸಂಪುಟಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.

2019 – ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ ಮೆಲ್‌ಬೌರ್ನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

• 2022 – ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಧರ್ಮದ ಖುರೇಷಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಬಾಂಧವರ ಮನವೊಲಿಸಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಏಕೈಕ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಮಾರಕವಾದ ಬಸವ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರುಷ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರದ ಮನರುತ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಾಧನೆ.

ಐದು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಪರಂಪರಾಗತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು ಬಂದಿರುವಂತೆ, ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಸಹ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ವೃತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರರ ಮತ್ಥಳಿಗೆ ಭಾನುವಾರ ದಿನಾಂಕ 23-04-2023ರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9.30 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಪಂಡಿತಾರಾಧ್ಯ ಶಿವಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು, ಪೀಠಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಶ್ರೀ ತರಳಬಾಳು ಜಗದ್ಗುರು ಶಾಖಾ-ಶ್ರೀಮಠ, ಸಾಣೇಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಶಿವಾನುಭವ ಚರಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿವರುದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಬೇಲಿಮಠ ಮಹಾಸಂಸ್ಥಾನ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಲೆಫ್ಟಿನೆಂಟ್ ಜನರಲ್ ಶ್ರೀ ರಮೇಶ್ ಹಲಗಲಿ, PVSM, AVSM,SM, Former General Officer and Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Indian Army ಹಾಗೂ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಂದ ಮಾಲಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೊಳಿಸಿವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿಶ್ವಗುರು ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಅನುಭವ ಮಂಟಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಂತ ಹುಂಬರವಾಡಿ, ಖ್ಯಾತ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು, ಅಶೋಕ ಫೌಂಡ್ರಿ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಇವರಿಗೆ ‘ಕಾಯಕ ರತ್ನ’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ವೀರಣ್ಣ ರಾಜೂರ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ 2023ರ “ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಬಸವ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ” ಭಾಜನರು, ಡಾ. ದಾಮೋದರ ಮೌಜೋ, ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರು, ‘ವಚನ’ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೊ. ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಝಮಾನ್ ಅಜುರ್ದಾ, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ‘ವಚನ’ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ಇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ‘ಬಸವ ವಿಭೂಷಣ’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರೊ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್. ಸಿದ್ಧಲಿಂಗಯ್ಯ ಇವರಿಗೆ ‘ಬಸವ ಭೂಷಣ’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಸಮಾರಂಭದದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕಟಣಾ ವಿಭಾಗ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿರುವ 14 ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಶರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕಿ, ಶರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸೋಣ, ಬೆಳೆಸೋಣ, ರಕ್ಷಿಸೋಣ ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಸವ ಸಮಿತಿ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅರವಿಂದ ಜತ್ತಿ ಯವರು ಪ್ರೆಸ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಆಫ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting consolidates its presence in Foods with the acquisition of Brahmins

Bangalore, April 20, 2023: Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting announced the execution of a definitive agreement to acquire Brahmins, a traditional vegetarian, spice mix and ready-to-cook brand located in Kerala. Followed by its recent acquisition of Nirapara, the company is looking at becoming a sizable player in the packaged foods segment.

To expand and further consolidate its spices, breakfast and Ready to Cook category, Wipro has taken the route towards adding Brahmins, a homegrown legacy brand in Kerala, into its growing Food Business. Established in 1987, Brahmins is one of the most preferred brands in its home market (Kerala), with ethnic breakfast pre-mix powders, spice mixes, straight powders (spices), wheat products such as pickles, dessert mixes, and others. The premium flagship products are Sambar Powder, and Puttu Podi which enjoy market leadership position.

Commenting on the acquisition, Vineet Agrawal, CEO of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting and Managing Director, Wipro Enterprises, said, “We entered the Food category with our first acquisition of Nirapara and within six months, we are happy to share our latest acquisition of Brahmins. This acquisition, which will be our 14th so far for Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, and will be a mutually beneficial partnership that will accelerate expansion of the Brahmins’ portfolio on one hand and embolden Wipro’s foundation into the food business. India is a proud host of 2023 G20 Summit at New Delhi in July this year. The Theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is a symbol of Unity and Learning from India’s rich ancient heritage. Young Indians (Yi), a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is all set to host the G20 YEA India Summit in Delhi from 13-15 July 2023. As India has taken over the G20 Presidency, this is a moment of great pride for Yi to bring together over 800 changemakers from 20+ nations at G20 YEA India Summit in Delhi. The G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance (YEA) is a global network of approximately 500,000 young entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them.
Yi Bengaluru chapter in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports and EntIISC is hosting Y20 dialogues event at prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bangalore on Thursday, the 20th April 2023 at 10:30 AM. Students from educational institutions associated with Yi Bengaluru and IISC will be part of these sessions.
Bhavin Dinesh Pandya, Chapter Chair Yi Bengaluru said that “We are excited to announce the hosting these sessions as they aim to create outcome-based discussions on reimaging business for the future and participatory models of governance. First session: Future of Business – Dialogue between Young Indian achievers towards reimagining business for the future will be led by industry leaders like Ms. Uzma – Director Prestige Group; Mr. Umakant Soni Co- Founder & CEO Art Park, Mr. BR Diwakar CEO and MD CreditAccess Life Insurance Company, Mr. Kiran Sathvik – MD, Growth & Strategy Accenture.
Second session: Participatory Governance – Dialogue between Young Indian achievers and governance institutions of urban and rural bodies on participatory model of governance. It will be a round table discussion with students calling for Policy change recommendations which will be led by Shri MN Anuchet IPS – Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic Bengaluru; Dr. Basavaraju – Executive Director – Graam, Mr. Prateek Khandelwal – Founder – RampMyCity; Ms. Yumana Sastry – Founder – Cabdost & Dvara Money.

Renowned Sanskrit Scholar Dr. Mattur Nandakumara Honoured with Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Bangalore, April 19, 2023 – Dr. Mattur Nandakumara, a highly respected authority on Vedic literature, philosophy, mythology, and rituals, has been appointed as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his services to the teaching, performance, and accessibility of Indian classical arts in the UK. He has actively promoted Sanskrit education and Indian culture in the UK and Europe for over four decades.

Dr. Nandakumara is the current Executive Director of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (also known as The Bhavan) in London, UK and also been identified as one of the UK’s top 100 most influential Asians for his role as an ambassador for India’s art, culture, and philosophy.

Since 1977, Dr. Nandakumara has been associated with The Bhavan in London, where he has been teaching multiple Sanskrit courses ranging from introductory to expert-level courses in grammar, commentary, and discussion on the great literary texts. Over the past five decades, The Bhavan in London has become a dynamic and vibrant cultural hub with help from the numerous well-wishers who have contributed to its success. Notably, Smt. Sudha Murty has been supporting The Bhavan since 2008 and has provided unstinting support to numerous programs and artists.

Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the MBE award, Dr. Mattur Nandakumara said, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from His Majesty The King Charles III. I am committed to continuing my efforts in teaching and making Indian classical arts accessible in the UK and the rest of the world. I am grateful for the support of my family, mentors, colleagues, and students, without whom this would not have been possible.”

Dr. Nandakumara’s outstanding achievements in promoting and preserving Sanskrit education and Indian culture have been recognised with several awards, including the Kannada Rajyotsava Award in 2011, the Samskriti Seva Samman by Hindi Samiti UK for his contribution to Art and Culture, and the Award of Distinction in the field of Art and Culture in 2006, instituted by the India International Foundation and presented by Baroness Usha Prashar.

Apart from teaching, Dr. Nandakumara has also organised and run multiple Conversational Sanskrit courses in London and has lectured extensively on various aspects of Hindu philosophy and mythology across the UK. He has officiated hundreds of Hindu ceremonies in the UK, Europe, and the Far East and is also a writer of multiple poems in both Sanskrit and Kannada languages, with a focus on personal interpretations of key parts of the Vedas, Upanishads, and Gita.

Dr. Nandakumara has contributed to promoting Indian culture in the UK by organizing concerts for the benefit of The Bhavan. These concerts feature eminent artists like Pt Ravi Shankar, Pt Birju Maharaj, Dr. Balamuralikrishna, Pt Jasraj, Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Anoushka Shankar, among others. Since 1984, he has been responsible for presenting over eighty events every year, featuring eminent artists and scholars, many of whom have conducted workshops and lecture demonstrations.

Dr. Nandakumara’s dedication, knowledge, and contribution to the promotion and preservation of Indian culture and Sanskrit education are an inspiration to all.
