ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಿಷಮರ್ಧಿನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆ ಶ್ರೀ ರೇಣುಕಾ ಯಲ್ಲಮ್ಮ ದೇವಿಯ 15ನೇ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28 ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 1ರಂದು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ. ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಯಾಭ್ಯುದಯ ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕ 1947ರ ವಿಶ್ವಾವಸು ನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರ, ಕುಂಭ ಮಾಸದ ಪಾಲ್ಗುಣ ಶುಕ್ಲ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಶ್ರೀ ಸೀತಾರಾಮ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಂತಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ತಂತ್ರಿಗಳ ಆಚಾರ್ಯತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜರುಗಲಿವೆ.

ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 28ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ರೇಣುಕಾ ಯಲ್ಲಮ್ಮ ದೇವಿಗೆ ವಾಸ್ತು ಹೋಮ, ವಾಸ್ತು ಪೂಜೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಕ್ಷೆಘ್ನ ಹೋಮ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಪೂಜಾ ವಿಧಿಗಳು ನೆರವೇರಲಿವೆ. ಅದೇ ದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ 7.30ಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟಸ್ವಾಮಿರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರೇ ರಾಮ ಹರೇ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಭಜನಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೋಲಾಟ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಭಜನೆ–ಕೋಲಾಟ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.

ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 1ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 8.30ರಿಂದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಪೂಜಾ ವಿಧಿಗಳು ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಕಳಶಾಧಿವಾಸ ಹೋಮ, ಕಳಶಾಭಿಷೇಕ, ಚಂಡಿಕಾ ಹೋಮ, 11 ಕೈ ಪೂರ್ಣಾಹುತಿ, ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ಪೂಜೆ, ಮಹಾಮಂಗಳಾರತಿ ಮತ್ತು ತೀರ್ಥ ಪ್ರಸಾದ ವಿತರಣೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 11 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ರತ್ನಾಕರ ವೀರಗಾಸೆ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ವೀರಗಾಸೆ ಕುಣಿತ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಇರಲಿದೆ. ಸಂಜೆ 6ಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರಳೂರು ಶ್ರೀಪಾಲ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಜನಪದ ನಾಟಿ ಕೋಲಾಟ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ರಾತ್ರಿ 8ಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧನಾ ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್‌ನ ಭಾವನಾ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರ ಹಾಗೂ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಭರತನಾಟ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ರಾತ್ರಿ 9ಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಬಡಿಗೇರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹನ ಬನ್ನಿಗಿಡದ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ‘ಶ್ರೀ ರೇಣುಕಾ ದೇವಿ ಮಹಾತ್ಮೆ’ ನೃತ್ಯ ರೂಪಕ ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 2.30ಕ್ಕೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಗಣ್ಯರ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸಾನಿಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವಚನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಶಿವಸುಜ್ಞಾನ ತೀರ್ಥ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು, ನಿಶ್ಚಲಾನಂದನಾಥ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು, ಕಾಳಹಸ್ತೇಂದ್ರ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು, ಅಭಿನವ ಯಕ್ಷರ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿದ್ವಾನ್ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಬಾಯಲ, ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷ್ಯ–ವಾಸ್ತು ತಜ್ಞ ಉಮೇಶಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ಮಠ–ಪೀಠಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿರುವರು.

India Eats Less Protein Than Needed-Experts Call for Egg and Poultry Push

Highlighting the growing burden of protein deficiency in India, Dr.Krishnamurthy T. N., Professor and Head, Department of Poultry Science, Veterinary College, Hebbal, Bengaluru, under the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, along with departmental experts, noted that nearly 70–80% of Indians do not meet recommended daily protein requirements. They observed that cereal-dominated dietary patterns often lack essential amino acids and show lower digestibility, thereby contributing to widespread nutritional gaps.

Speaking at a press interaction, Dr. Krishnamurthy emphasised that eggs and chicken serve as complete protein sources containing all nine essential amino acids necessary for growth, immunity and tissue repair. Eggs, he said, function as affordable “protein capsules” in addressing malnutrition, offering 6–7 grams of high-quality protein per egg along with vitamin D, vitamin B12, iron, zinc and choline. Nutritionists, he added, strongly advocate egg consumption among children and pregnant women to support brain development and prevent stunting, while eggs also played a supportive dietary role in immunity during the Covid-19 period. Despite the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition recommending an annual intake of about 180 eggs per person, current per-capita consumption remains around 106 eggs.

The department further highlighted the importance of chicken meat as a concentrated lean protein source beneficial for muscle maintenance and metabolic health. Lean chicken breast provides approximately 25–31 grams of protein per 100 grams, making it more protein-dense than many dairy products and pulses. As a healthier alternative to red meat, chicken also supplies essential B-vitamins such as niacin and vitamin B6, along with minerals including phosphorus and selenium.

However, annual per-capita consumption in India stands at roughly 3.5 kg, significantly below the recommended 11 kg.
Reiterating dietary guidance, Dr. Krishnamurthy noted that the National Institute of Nutrition prescribes a daily protein intake of one gram per kilogram of body weight for a healthy adult, underscoring the need for greater awareness and inclusion of affordable, high-quality protein sources such as eggs and poultry in routine diets.

NITKonnect’26 Unites 1,200 Alumni to Chart India’s Innovation-Led Future

Bengaluru, February 23, 2026: The fifth edition of NITKonnect’26, the flagship global alumni meet of National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal, drew more than 1,200 alumni from across industries, including founders, CXOs, investors and startup leaders, to deliberate on the theme “Bharat Unbound” and India’s innovation-driven growth.

Organised by the institute’s alumni association, the summit featured keynote addresses by industry leaders and hosted 37 CXO panel discussions involving over 110 speakers. A dedicated Inspiring Founders’ Panel spotlighted more than 60 startups, with conversations centred on innovation, artificial intelligence and strategies for global scaling.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between NITK Surathkal, BHIVE Workspace and the NITK Alumni Association to offer complimentary co-working facilities to student entrepreneurs from the institute. The association also unveiled its Vision 2035 roadmap, presented by Director Prof. Ravi B and Prof. Prasanna Belur, Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations. The programme concluded with the NITK Awards recognising outstanding achievements and innovation among alumni.

Participation included over 350 founders, 200 senior executives, 100 angel investors and representatives from 60 startups, positioning the gathering among the largest innovation-focused alumni events hosted by an Indian global network.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ravi B said the accomplishments of NITK alumni across sectors such as manufacturing, sports, defence and public service continue to inspire students and strengthen the institution’s legacy. Global President of the NITK Alumni Association Niranjan Mahabalappa described NITKonnect’26 as a strategic platform that enables alumni founders, investors and technology leaders to collaborate and contribute to India’s next growth phase.

The day-long summit featured keynote sessions by Ajay Prabhu, Vice Chairman of Quest Global, and Saumya Swain, Chairman of RT Energy. Under the theme “Innovate in Bharat, Scale for the World,” discussions explored India’s emergence as a global force in AI, clean energy and self-reliant space technologies.

Sessions spanning electric mobility, FinTech transformation and advanced manufacturing examined how investment momentum and technological ambition are repositioning India as a primary growth engine rather than a secondary alternative. By connecting enterprise software, digital infrastructure and evolving consumer ecosystems, the event aimed to outline pathways for the coming decade, culminating in a founders’ dialogue on scaling responsibly and shaping the future of work.

Grand Floral Tribute Offered at Jayanagar Mutt for Raghavendra Swamy Jayanti

A grand floral offering was conducted at the Nanjanagudu Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bengaluru, as part of the 431st birth anniversary celebrations of Raghavendra Swamy.

The Laksha Pushparchane (offering of one lakh flowers) to the Brindavana of the saint was performed in accordance with the directive of His Holiness Subudhendra Tirtha. The ritual was carried out under the leadership of senior mutt administrator R.K. Vadheendra Acharya, with the sacred offering ceremonially completed by His Holiness Vishwaprasanna Tirtha, who blessed devotees on the occasion.

The programme witnessed the participation of scholar and preacher Agnihotri Venugopalacharya, news presenter Shripad Patil of Republic Kannada and Republic National Network, devotional singer Sheshagiridas of Raichur, Lakshmi Narayanaswamy, Tejas Gowda of Bajrang Dal, and members of the Jay Samruddhi Developers team led by Ravikumar. Kannada film personalities including actor Deepak and actress Prema were also present, along with senior editor Sudheendra and several volunteers and devotees.

According to Nandakishoracharya, attendees received darshan and sought the blessings of Sri Hari, Vayu and Guru during the spiritually significant ceremony.
