Sri Aurobindo Society State Committee , Karnataka and Sri Aurobindo Complex Trust , Bangalore are jointly organising a One – Day National Seminar with a theme ” The Renaissance of India and Indian Nationalism in the light of Sri Aurobindo ” on the occasion of commemorating 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo on Sunday , the 7th August , 2022 at NIMHANS Convention Centre , Bangalore . The program will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in three parts .. Part I : Inaugural Ceremony with the Key note address and Releasing of Souvenir . Talks on the Theme of the Seminar . Part II : Part III : Cultural Program by Professional Artists . Sri L.S. Tejasvi Surya , Hon’ble Member of Parliament , Bangalore South will be the Chief Guest . Dr. Ajit Sabnis , Chairman , Sri Aurobindo Society State Committee , Karnataka will preside over the Program . About Sri Aurobindo : Sri Aurobindo ( born Aurobindo Ghose ; 15th August , 1872 – 5th December , 1950 ) was an Indian Philosopher , Yogi , Maharishi , Poet , and Indian Nationalist . He was also a Journalist , editing newspapers like Bande Mataram . He joined the Indian movement for Independence from British colonial rule , till 1910 was one of its influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer , introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution .

He passed the Indian Civil Service examination . As he did not want to serve the British Government , he refused to join ICS . But in 1893 , he accepted the appointment in the Baroda State Service . He worked for 13 years and rose to the post of principal of the Baroda State College . He learned Sanskrit ; read the Vedas , the Upanishads , Epics , Marathi , Gujarati , and his native language Bengali . Sri Aurobindo involved in nationalist politics in the Indian National Congress . He was arrested in Alipore bomb blast conspiracy . However Sri Aurobindo was be convicted and imprisoned for writing articles against British colonial rule in India . He was released when no evidence could be provided . During his stay in the jail , he had mystical and spiritual experiences , after which he moved to Pondicherry , leaving politics for spiritual work . At Pondicherry , Sri Aurobindo developed a spiritual practice he called Integral Yoga . The central theme of his vision was the evolution of human life into a divine life in divine body . He believed in a spiritual realisation that not only liberated but transformed human nature , enabling a divine life on earth . In 1926 , he established Sri Aurobindo Ashram that has witnessed tremendous growth over the years . His important works at glance : – The Divine Life his major works includes Essays on the Gita ( 1922 ) – Collected Poems and Plays ( 1942 ) – The Synthesis of Yoga ( 1948 ) – The Human Cycle ( 1949 ) -The ideal of Human Unity ( 1949 ) – Savitri : A Legend and a Symbol ( 1950 ) – On the Veda ( 1956 ) This year long Birth Anniversary program of Sri Aurobindo will be concluded on 15th August , 2022 ( 1872-2022 ) at Pondicherry .

Mumbai, July 21, 2022 – Hot on the heels of a record-breaking June and H1 2022, ŠKODA AUTO India has introduced a host of updates and changes to its game-changing KUSHAQ SUV as part of the car’s first anniversary celebrations in India and the world.

Commenting on the revolutionary KUSHAQ, Mr. Zac Hollis, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India said, “The KUSHAQ is the hero of INDIA 2.0 and one year on, it has been instrumental in ŠKODA AUTO India climbing one sales peak after another, with a legion of happy and satisfied customers. In line with our customer-centric approach, we use this landmark occasion in the KUSHAQ’s life cycle to introduce a host of updates that further enhance the user experience and all-new variants providing more value to our fans and users.”

The KUSHAQ range gets a new Headliner in the cabin and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as standard across the range. Moreover, all variants powered by the 1.0 TSI are equipped with the Start-Stop Recuperation system as standard. This has improved fuel efficiency by 7-9%. The interiors now get a 20.32cm ŠKODA Infotainment System with knobs and buttons for select functions increasing ergonomics and ease of use for the driver.

Another addition is the Non-Sunroof (NSR) Style trim. It sits between the current Ambition and Style variants. The NSR Style variant is based on the 1.0 TSI Style. It will offer a 4-dial medium analogue instrument cluster and will be exclusive with the 6-speed manual transmission, thus offering one more value price-point for the customer. The top-of-the-line Style variant with the Sunroof is now upgraded with a 20.32cm ŠKODA Virtual Cockpit for the driver’s instrument console in place of analogue dials.

The celebrations continue with the engines being the tried and tested 1.0 TSI with the choice of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The performance-oriented 1.5 TSI EVO engine will also continue with the familiar 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic.

The KUSHAQ range is now available in 5 variants, starting from ACTIVE, AMBITION, STYLE (NSR), STYLE and the recently launched KUSHAQ MONTE CARLO.

25 YEARS JOURNEY OF VIJAYA COMPOSITE PU COLLEGE

Vijaya Education Institute was founded by Sri K S Chandrasekhariah on January 30th 1956. He started with one student and today , it has grown to be a very well known and reputed Institution , offering education to thousands of students from kindergarten to bachelor’s degree classes . After successfully running primary , secondary and high school for the first 42 years , in 1998 , Vijaya Composite Pre University College was started under the umbrella of VEIT . It was inaugurated by his holiness Sri Sri Sri Vishvesha Theertha Sripadangalavaru of the Pejawar Mutt . Under the guidance of Sri K S Chandrasekhariah , the leadership of the first Principal , Senior Retired professors and young lecturers , the college grew and progressed without compromising on its ideals , quality of education , ethics and culture . There were only two sections with 70 students in each with PCMB combination . With time , the number of classes and sections increased . In 2018 , we started the commerce sections for students interested in that field .

Our college has a number of well – equipped laboratories for practical subjects and boasts a well stocked and referenced library . It also has a PE unit , a Yoga training centre , a botanical garden and a student counselling unit . A full – fledged academic hall is another significant unit of the college which , was inaugurated by late prof . UR Rao , Chairman , ISRO . Staff meetings , Orientation programs and faculty development programs are conducted here regularly . Our institution is known for facilitating all round development of students . Many guest lectures are arranged to give exposure to students across various fields . Students are given opportunities to present seminars on the topic of their interest . The seminars conducted by the students are selectively published in the form of articles in our newsletter ( Antarvani ) , In order to encourage and improve the writing abilities of the student on their topics of interest , their write ups are allowed to be published in the monthly newsletter . This monthly magazine is now running in the name of ‘ Voice of Vijaya ‘ . VCPUC is proud to know that the first student member of the editorial team has made her place and recognition at the international level . With the best academic facilities in its class and inspiring atmosphere , many students have scored centums each year . We have several students scoring top ranks in professional courses like CET , NEET and JEE . In the year 2011 , our student Chi Aaditya Goankar secured I rank in Karnataka CET . Every year , students are taken to Engineering and medical colleges , industrial visits , IISc , Vocational Training Centers , Science and research centers and educational tours to multinational companies . Here , learning is not merely mastering the syllabus but exploring the subjects . A strong emphasis is laid on overall development of students and the importance of life skills is stressed upon .

Students are provided with an opportunity to participate in inter and intra collegiate competitions , fests , sport events , science talks , etc. They have bagged many prizes over the years . The institution is broadly providing these students to utilize the educational benefits provided based on their awards and accolades . It is an honour that our NCC cadets have participated several times in the National Parade on the Republic Day . To encourage the Literary and cultural activities , several competitions are organized by the institution . Our students are award winners in all the co – curricular activities conducted by the PU Education Board . It is also a pride that these activities are conducted in our esteemed premises . In addition to these , the cultural department has been organizing special events such as Janapada Sourabha , Natya Samarpanam Bhavayana , etc. The Annual Day celebrations has been a colourful cultural festival to the students every year . A well thought out plan is in place and is adhered to . As a result , our students get into highly competitive and professional courses in IIT , NIT , IISC , AIIMS , Engineering , Medicine , Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences . We are proud to claim that Alumni from our college are currently working as Scientists , IPS , IAS & KAS officers , Doctors , Engineers , IIT Professors , Entrepreneurs , etc. On the whole , our institution has grown to be one of the best in Bengaluru under the leadership and guidance of our founder , Sri K S Chandrasekhariah . His successor , Sri K C Raghunandan , who has a corporate background for about 2 decades , is also implementing innovative teaching methodologies to reach and inspire students of the present generation . By all its enigmatic form , VCPUC is rolling on to its 25th year by celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year .
