Rotary Gurudakshine Award

Gurudakshine is a joint project of four rotary clubs in Rotary International District 3190 .

Gurudakshine has two objectives:One–‘Gurudakshine Awards’ for outstanding teachers in 8 categories and Two-to build a corpus to help the Teachers at their time of need.

Pleased to release the details of much awaited `Gurudakshine Award,. They are pleased to invite nominations for the Gurudakshine Award from the Educators. Following are the categories of Awards for the excellence in Teaching by Teachers/ Educators working in the respective areas.Nomination can be done by self/anyone or Institution or organisation or Rotary Clubs. Documentation requirements are same in both cases.

Requirements for Nomination

Other Awards received if anyb)Submission of a Portfolio:A teaching portfolio is usually a document that describes and documents different aspects of theirprofessionalachievements. Teaching portfolios are usually 6–10 pages in length, and maycontain supplementary material in appendices.A teaching portfolio is similar to an artist’s portfolio: it is a material record of things developed in practising your profession. It contains both primary material –
documents produced in the course of teaching and
secondary material – documents produced in reflection upon teaching. Creating portfolios allows teachers to think seriously about their teaching
goals and strategies, and to present those thoughts to others.

For these Gurudakshine Awards create a portfolio to:

  1. Showcase 3 innovative ideas in teaching, learning or assessment that teachers have recently tried out with their students.
  2. Each of these ideas must be described in about 300 words and accompanied by at least 2 samples of evidence of the idea having been implemented in class – in the form of 2 photographs, 2 min video clips, student feedback, school head’s or peer feedback and a self-reflection on what makes the idea
    innovative for you.
    c) Service above Self :
    Please describe instances of service extending beyond self (Selfless Service) involving you in your past.
    This shall be a pdf file.
    Additional requirements for nomination for category 5 and 6 : Please provide details of your 3 students with their contact details who have achieved in their respective
    field under your guidance

    Phase 1 – Nomination and Submission of Entries :

    Phase 2 – Shortlisting and Panel Interview
    Shortlisted candidates will be intimated and will be required to attend a panel interview at Bengaluru

Samarthanam’s comprehensive help and awareness campaign applauded by the government

Smarthanam Trust for the Disabled has been honoured with Rajyotsava Covid Warriors award by Belagavi district administration. Veeresh Kivadasannavar, director of Samarthanam, who did ground level work of providing help to the needy, received the award today (Nov 1, 2020) at Rajyostava function in Belagavi. District in-charge and Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi was the chief guest.

Hailed as silent warrior, Veeresh, who is also director of Samruddhi Service Society, Belagavi,

supplied food packets, dry rations, medicines, PPEs and thousands of liters of sanitizers in Belagavi city and rural areas along with BJP and RSS members.

“We began this movement despite health risks of pandemic because the differently abled need help and authorities cannot reach everyone. The campaign is about awareness and as well as material help to all sections of society. These awards strengthen our resolve to enlarge the scope of our efforts,” said Mahantesh GK, chairman of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.

Veeresh Kivadasannavar said that “we could do much as we have database of differently abled in the district and we keep in touch with them. Our Covid help campaign went beyond the differently abled. We have given materials and all kinds of help to doctors, police staff and ASHA workers. This is an ongoing work, and these awards will pump energy into our campaign.”
