ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಫೆ.26– ಮಣಿಪಾಲ್ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಆಫ್ ಹೈಯರ್ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್ (MAHE) ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹಣಕಾಸು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಬ್ರಾಡ್ರಿಡ್ಜ್ ಫೈನಾನ್ಷಿಯಲ್ ಸೊಲ್ಯೂಶನ್ಸ್ ನಡುವೆ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ–ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ (MoU)ಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುಭವಾಧಾರಿತ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವತ್ತ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಸಹಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಾಡ್ರಿಡ್ಜ್ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಾಗಿ ರಿತು ರಾಖ್ರಾ, ಅಕ್ತಾ ಜೈನ್, ಶರತ್ ಗೊಲ್ಲಪಳ್ಳಿ, ರಾಶಿ ಛಾಬ್ರಾ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಧಿಕಾ ಲೋಹಿಯಾ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. MAHE ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಮಧು ವೀರರಾಘವನ್, ಪ್ರೊ. ಐವನ್ ಜೋಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ. ದಯಾನಂದ ಪಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧಿವೇಶನಗಳು ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಹಣಕಾಸು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು.
ಒಪ್ಪಂದದಡಿ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ ಆಧಾರಿತ ತರಬೇತಿ, ಅತಿಥಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು, ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಗಳು, ಮೆಂಟರ್ಶಿಪ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಟರ್ನ್ಶಿಪ್ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ BR ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ರೂಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಎರಡೂ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಲಿವೆ.
ಈ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾರ್ಹತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅನ್ವಯಿಕ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನವೀನತೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರಿ ಆಗಲಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಅನುಭವದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಭವಿಷ್ಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಎರಡೂ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿವೆ.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಸಂತಕವಿ ಕನಕದಾಸ ಅವರ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾನತೆಯ ಸಂದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಕನಕಶ್ರೀ ಚಾರಿಟೆಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್, ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ‘ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ’, ಬಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಶಕ್ತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ‘ಸಹಾಯಧನ’, ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ‘ಅಭಿನಂದನೆ’ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ‘ಸನ್ಮಾನ’ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಾ ಧೋರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದೆ.
ನಗರದ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ‘ಕನಕ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣ’ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಮುದಾಯ ಭವನಗಳು, ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶಾಲ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಮುದಾಯ ಭವನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಅತಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಉನ್ನತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ವಸತಿ, ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟೋಪಹಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಇದೀಗ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಸೇವೆಯ ಕನಸು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಯುವಜನತೆಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ KAS ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ತರಬೇತಿ ಶಿಬಿರ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ತರಬೇತಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ Insights IAS ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವ ನೀಡಿದೆ.

Rohini Nilekani Unveils “The Playbook of Play”, Calling on India to Reimagine Childhood
An inspiring provocation that urges society to trust children’s innate instinct to play
Bengaluru, 17 January 2026: At a vibrant and thought-provoking gathering during Makkala Habba, renowned philanthropist and children’s author Rohini Nilekani launched The Playbook of Play—a bold, first-of-its-kind concept book that challenges deeply held assumptions about early childhood. The book delivers a simple yet radical message: children don’t need to be taught how to play—they need the freedom to do it.
Conceived as part of EkStep Foundation’s Bachpan Manao initiative, the book speaks to parents, educators, policymakers and communities alike, urging them to rethink adult-led control over childhood. Bachpan Manao is a growing collective of over 100 collaborators working to ensure that every child in India, from birth to eight years, experiences a joyful, nurturing and play-rich early childhood.
The launch itself was intentionally symbolic—set amid the energy of children at play. The message was clear: play is instinctive, joyful, and central to how children understand the world—and excessive adult interference can quietly erode this natural process.
“Play is a child’s language,”Rohini Nilekani shared. “It’s how children form relationships—with people, with nature, and with possibility. When we respect this language, children flourish. Creating space for play is not a luxury; it is a shared responsibility we owe every child in this country.”
The Science Is Settled: Play Is Fundamental, Not Optional
Backed by decades of neuroscience and child development research, The Playbook of Play reinforces what children intuitively know. Free, self-directed play strengthens brain architecture, builds critical executive functions such as focus, self-regulation and problem-solving, and supports holistic growth across cognitive, physical, social and emotional domains.
Research published in the Indian Journal of Neurology echoes this, noting that learning through play offers a powerful foundation for hands-on, meaningful early learning. What may appear chaotic or unstructured to adults is, in fact, the brain actively making sense of the world—experimenting, imagining, questioning and building confidence for lifelong learning.
Revealing the book at Makkala Habba felt especially fitting. “We’re having this conversation surrounded by children who are quite literally bringing childhood to life,” said Deepika Mogilishetty, Chief of Policy and Partnerships at EkStep Foundation. “Makkala Habba is where imagination, care and intent meet real-world practice. There could be no better space to talk about the future of childhood and play.”
With The Playbook of Play, Rohini Nilekani doesn’t offer a manual—she offers a mindset shift. One that invites India to pause, step back, and trust children to do what they do best: play their way into becoming whole, curious and capable human beings.
Bengaluru, January 8, 2026: GITAM (Deemed to be University) hosted the 13th International Conference on Transformations in Engineering Education (ICTIEE 2026) at its Bengaluru campus, bringing together global academic and industry leaders to reimagine the future of engineering education in an AI-driven world.
Organised in collaboration with the Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE Foundation), the conference was themed “Transforming Teaching and Learning Ecosystems in the AI-Driven World.” Over 500 delegates participated in the two-day forum, which focused on building interactive, resilient and student-centric learning environments. The conference also witnessed the presentation of 76 research papers by faculty members, which will be published in the Journal of Engineering Education Transformations (JEET).
The event was graced by Dr. S. Vidyashankar, Vice Chancellor, Visvesvaraya Technological University; Dr. Ashok S. Shettar, Pro Chancellor, KLE Technological University; and Prof. Basavaraj Gundappa K, Pro Vice Chancellor, GITAM University, Bengaluru and Conference General Chair, along with other dignitaries, faculty members and students.
Dr. Vidyashankar stressed that transformation in engineering education is no longer optional, stressing the need to adopt global best practices to keep Indian graduates globally competitive. Dr. Shettar highlighted that classrooms must evolve into centres of innovation, supported by strong multidisciplinary collaboration.
Prof. Basavaraj Gundappa K said, the focus of ICTIEE 2026 was to integrate AI while keeping students at the heart of the learning process. Keynote sessions explored AI-enabled classrooms, gamified curricula and emerging teaching models, reinforcing the view that AI should act as an enabler, not a replacement, for educators.
The conference also featured a panel discussion on leadership in the age of AI and hosted the IUCEE Annual Student Forum 2026, offering students a platform to showcase innovation, collaboration and leadership.
University of Liverpool Breaks Ground for Bengaluru Campus, Strengthening India–UK Education Ties
Bengaluru, December 15, 2025: The University of Liverpool on Monday marked a key milestone in its India expansion with a ground-breaking ceremony for its upcoming Bengaluru campus at Alembic City, reinforcing growing India–UK collaboration in higher education and research.
The event was attended by senior leadership from the University of Liverpool, UK government representatives, academic partners and industry leaders, reflecting the university’s focus on building a future-ready education ecosystem aligned with India’s talent and innovation needs.
Among the prominent guests was Chandru Iyer, Deputy British High Commissioner to Karnataka and Kerala, who had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the university at its launch event in May this year. Students from The School of Raya, Bengaluru, added a cultural dimension to the ceremony with a special performance.
The Bengaluru campus, scheduled to begin academic operations in 2026, will be designed as a next-generation learning and research hub combining global academic standards with India’s higher education ambitions. The campus will feature smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, research and innovation spaces, collaboration hubs and access to Bloomberg terminals, creating an integrated environment for academic learning and industry engagement.
Professor Tim Jones, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, said Karnataka’s reputation as a knowledge and technology hub made Bengaluru an ideal location for the university’s India campus. He added that the ground-breaking marked the first step towards creating a world-class learning environment for future students.
Campus architect Ram Joshi said the design draws inspiration from Liverpool’s maritime heritage and Bengaluru’s intellectual energy, transforming the former glass factory site into a space where industry evolves into knowledge.
A member of the prestigious Russell Group, the University of Liverpool will offer UK-accredited degree programmes in Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Biomedical Sciences and Game Design. The Game Design programme, a first for UK universities in India, will focus on coding, creativity and critical theory to prepare students for the global gaming and interactive media industry.
The University of Liverpool, ranked among the top 150 universities globally in the QS World University Rankings, received approval from the Union Ministry of Education in May 2025 under the UGC’s 2023 regulations, in line with the National Education Policy 2020. Applications for the 2026 academic year are now open.
