JUNE 16, 2021 / March 2, 2021: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham – ranked the 4th Best Overall University in India in the 2020 National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) – has announced it will conduct Phase 3 of Amrita Entrance Examination (AEEE) 2021 for B.Tech admissions from 11th to 14th July. Candidates who attempted AEEE 2021 in Phase 1 and 2 also have the opportunity to improve their marks in Phase 3. Examination will be fully online with remote proctoring.
Foundation Program in Engineering & Career Counselling for Future Engineers
Amrita varsity’s Office of Admissions & Outreach would be conducting a series of sessions under the DISHA platform to educate all prospective engineering students about future possibilities in each B.Tech stream. Faculty from Amrita School of Engineering, Chennai, will be conducting “TechTalk” sessions on technologies of the future and how various engineering branches are synced with these.
This Foundation Programme is designed to ensure smoother transition from +2 to engineering stream, keeping in mind that no physical classes have been held for the +2 students since Feb 2020. The objective is to build a strong foundation of core fundamentals of science and technology among the engineering aspirants and relate it with technologies of the future and real-time applications. The Programme intends to create proper awareness among students and parents about various branches of engineering other than computer science. It is essential to educate future engineers about all the possibilities and job opportunities that will arise in the coming years with technological advancement.
Centralised Seat Allotment & Admissions
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will start the B.Tech Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) for 2021admissions in the first week of August. CSAP for the B.Tech programmes, offered at Amritapuri (Kerala), Bengaluru, Chennai and Coimbatore campuses of the varsity, will be fully online. Futuristic programmes like Automation & Robotics, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence are offered at all four of these campuses. Interested candidates can register for the CSAP by paying the registration fee. A minimum of three rounds of seat allotment will be conducted so that the candidates can exercise the sliding option.
50% seats are reserved with scholarship fees for top-ranked students.
Those who register for CSAP are allotted the branch most preferred by the candidate. Meritorious candidates will get the seats with scholarship fees. Candidates with good rank can avail the scholarship.
Placements
Amrita varsity also trains its students through the four-year B.Tech course in soft skills and encourages them to undergo various certification programmes. Around 90 to 95% of eligible Amrita students get placed every year. The average annual salary for students ranges from Rs 5 to 6 lakhs. The highest salary offered each year has consistently been above Rs 50 lakhs per annum. In the year 2020, the highest salary offered to an Amrita B.Tech student was Rs 56.95 lakhs per annum.
In a first, students can now qualify for admission to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s engineering programmes by acing its international examination called Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE), or any of the four eligibility exams including Remote Proctored Examination (CBT or RPE) or JEE Mains 2021 or SAT or Pearson UG Entrance Examination Score (PUEE). The varsity is adhering to the JEE Mains pattern for AEEE – Engineering 2021 Centre Based Test.
The eligibility for appearing in the AEEE test is 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with not less than 55% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately, and an aggregate minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates seeking admission should be born on or after 1st July 2000.
Once a candidate clears any of the given eligibility examinations, an online counselling session will be conducted individually to discuss the prospective engineering programs available, based on the grade. Over 200 students from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham get the opportunity to study abroad each year under various programs.

Embassy REIT, India’s first listed REIT and the largest office REIT in Asia by area together with ANZ Banking Group, one of the world’s largest multi-national banks and an occupier at Embassy Manyata Business Park, have strengthened their collaboration with the construction of a second school building, in Hegde Nagar, Bengaluru. The handover of the primary school building for Government Urdu Model Primary School will benefit over 600+ pupils. The new building, delivered under Embassy REIT’s Corporate Connect Program, was inaugurated today in the presence of Shri V Anbukumar, Commissioner for Public Instruction, Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, MLA – Byatarayanapura, Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director – Embassy Group and SV Venkatraman, Managing Director – ANZ Bengaluru Service Centre.
The new school building spread over 15,000 sq. ft., was constructed with an investment of INR 4.50 crores. It houses 19 classrooms, a staff room, a library-cum-computer lab, a multipurpose hall, toilet blocks, a handwash, clean drinking water, rainwater harvesting, solar power and a fully equipped playground. The construction of the school began in October 2019 and continued through the pandemic over the course of 16 months.
This is the second school building by Embassy REIT and ANZ under the Embassy REIT Corporate Connect Programme; the adjoining Government Kannada Higher Primary School was completed in June 2019 with an investment of INR 2.86 crores and benefits 650+ students. This partnership has seen a combined contribution of INR. 7 crores. Both the school builds were project managed by Embassy REIT. In addition to the financial contributions, Embassy REIT will continue to provide daily school maintenance, full-time security, holistic health and educational interventions throughout the academic year to both schools.

To produce the rankings for this year, QS analysed close to 14 million unique scholarly papers, producing more than 80 million citations. 1453 institutions were ranked across 51 subjects in 5 broad subject areas (including social sciences which includes law), resulting in over 16,981 published entries. These figures reflect the scale behind this huge undertaking that QS carried out in order to produce the 2021 Subject Rankings, and the magnitude of global competition.

This remarkable achievement of rising from the 101-150 rank band last year to 76th position this year in the coveted QS World University Rankings by Subject (Law) 2021 is a landmark development in our relatively short institutional journey.”
Dr Raj Kumar added that “Our continuous efforts will be to further deepen our classroom instruction, instructional methods, global cooperation and quality of research, and elevate the quality of legal education in India. Being recognized as an ‘Institution of Eminence’ by the Government of India this academic year, along with the global lead rankings, only strengthens our faith in our ability to contribute positively to the higher education landscape of India”.
Established in 2009, JGU is private, non-profit university that is committed to promoting social sciences, arts and the humanities. Entering the elite top 100 of the world in the competitive discipline of law breaks longstanding stereotypes and prejudices about the ability of private universities to become world-class to place India on the world map.
Reminiscing over JGLS’ short journey since establishment in 2009, Professor Raj Kumar said, “JGLS being the first school at JGU makes this a very special moment. Particularly, as we started 2020 with one of the most unprecedented crises of our times, to imagine that we would use this as an opportunity to not just overcome the challenges, but take a leap forward to achieve this is truly very humbling, and fills me with a great sense of gratitude today I am grateful to the founding Chancellor and benefactor, Mr. Naveen Jindal for his vision, leadership and philanthropic support that brought us to where we are today. I deeply appreciate the outstanding contributions of my colleagues and the leadership team of JGLS, as well as the faculty for bringing a world-class learning experience to the students, and of course our students who have demonstrated a deep sense of dedication and commitment to their education.”
Furthermore, JGU scored in 9 out of 51 subjects within two broad areas of social science & management (7 out of 9) and arts & humanities (2 out of 9). These subjects include Business & Management Studies, Economics, Law, Social Policy, Sociology, Art & Design and Performing Arts. Overall, JGU’s score in academic reputation in ‘Social Sciences’ increased by 10%, which is a testament to the phenomenal academic achievement and scholarly impact of the work of JGU’s faculty.
On this monumental accomplishment, Professor (Dr.) S.G. Sreejith, Executive Dean, JGLS said, “JGLS started with 100 students and we have grown to over 4000 students in about a decade. During this period, we remain committed to our vision to bring world-class legal education to Indian students, and to provide them with a global perspective on law and legal developments. Today, JGLS being ranked alongside highly reputable law schools from where several of our own faculty members have graduated. In fact, it is very humbling for us to see that this JGLS has been able to surge ahead of some leading law schools of the world. This is humbling and it gives our vision a greater impetus to continue to enhance the experience of students and faculty members.”

The news of JGLS being ranked as the 76th best law school in the world is an important milestone for us.
