With world’s prominent education leaders as speakers talking about future evolution of education for K-12 and frameworks of 21st Century Skills Unconference unveiled the future of learning for students, educators as well as future of learning spaces. Kidovators also felicitated 21st century schools, educators and education organizations with ‘World 100 – 21st Century Educators Awards’.

Unconference facilitated as a platform for Educators from around the world to discuss and propose best practices in 21st century education and create a blueprint for 21st-century learning spaces and environments across India and the world. The keynote speeches at Unconference by Mr. Anil Swarup (Former Secretary – School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD, GoI) Ms. Cecilia Carnefeldt (CEO & President, Kunskapsskolan Education, Swden) and Ms. Kathleen Naglee (Head of School, International School of Helsinki, Finland) signified the necessity of structural changes in education to instill students with skills and learning required for future. Following the awards ceremony, the Unconference was concluded with the closing note of Mr. Pulak Kumar Sinha (Board Member, Kidovators).

ECHO by Titan Company Limited to support education of underprivileged girl children

· Mr. Rana Uppalapati completes his journey across the Golden Quadrilateral (6000kms) after 99 days of skating

· ECHO which stands for ‘Educate to carry her onwards’ is an initiative to raise funds for the education of underprivileged girl children

Bangalore, December 19, 2018: Titan Company Limited in collaboration with the Tata Group proudly associated with Rana Uppalapati, Titan’s business associate and international skater who kick started his journey on skates aimed to cover the Indian Golden Quadrilateral (all of 6000kms). The flag off was at Hosur, Titan’s 1st watch factory on 5th September and he has covered Tumakuru, Sira, Chitradurga., Hubli and Belgaum in Karnataka; Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai in Maharashtra , Bharuch and Vadodara in Gujarat , Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Dhanbad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Chennai, Hosur and now completes his journey. Rana has achieved his goal of skating 6000 kms and has raised funds to support the education of over 18,000 girl children and is likely to increase in the next few days. As part of the journey, the program has raised funds for the education of underprivileged girl children and created awareness among close to 6 lakh children on child safety, especially on ‘good touch and bad touch’.

On Rana’s successful journey, Mr Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Company Limited said “This was an exciting adventure that Titan has chosen to be a part of, staying true to our nature of being innovative, disruptive and making a difference along the way. A man skating for over 3 months to cover the golden quadrilateral was something that was unheard of, until now. However we are humbled to have made this possible for Rana. Having seen Rana’s journey so closely, we know it was a challenging one. However, the grit and determination with which he set out to achieve this and make a difference kept him going“

At the start of the journey, Rana did face some roadblocks, he overcame every difficulty like a true warrior. Sharing his viewpoint on the occasion,Rana Uppalapati, Titan’s Business Associate, said that

Additionally, this campaign also witnessed organisations like K.C Mahindra Educational Trust Mumbai and IIMPact, Delhi coming together as partners towards whom the funds raised will be disbursed. Both organizations have already partnered with Titan in their ongoing program of remedial education of the girl child. “International Day of People with disabilities” – Seva-in-Action.

To celebrate International Day of People with disabilities, Seva-in-Action (SiA) organizes annually Quizabled 2018 – special quiz competition exclusively for children with disabilities, powered by LTI.

Seva-in-Action (SiA), a voluntary organization been working in the field of disability from the past 3 decades (since 1985) with the vision of empowering persons with disabilities through inclusive education, skills development & livelihood. It has been providing many platforms for children & adults with disabilities to evolve their capacities and opportunities for their overall development.

Larsen and Toubro Infotech ltd (LTD is a global technology consulting and digital solutions Company helping more than 312 clients succeed in a converging world. At LTI, through its Corporate Social Responsibility endeavor to make a difference, with all their employees making meaningful contributions to the community through CSR initiative named IStep. LTI has been supporting Quizabled for the past 3 years. Close to 100 + employees volunteer for this annual event.

This special quiz competition is exclusively for children with disabilities in special and regular schools across Bengaluru District. It is a pioneering initiative in the country where differently abled participants (cross disability) are given an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and intellectual capabilides.

In order to reach out to more children, the Prelims of Quizabled 2018′ will be conducted division wise across Bengaluru in advance/ prior to the final event of 24th Nov ’18 to select children for semi-finals & finals. The prelims will be conducted in the nodal schools centres of each division on 14th Nov 2018 from 11.00 am to 1.00pm. The participation certificate will be awarded to all the children who shall be parddpating in the prelims. The selected children from prelims in Group A will be invited to participate in the semi finals & then finals and in Group B, C & D will be invited to participate directly in the FINALS on 24th November 2018 at BMS college of Engineering/ Bull temple road/ Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. The quiz would be conducted by Mindcogs quizzing solutions.

The Quiz would comprise of general knowledge topics like – Current Affairs, National & International Affairs, History & Culture, Science, Business, Sports, Entertainment,

Karnataka State, etc., and different themes like food, Fruits/Vegetables, cartoon, etc for children with intellectual disabilities.

The medium of the quiz will be in Kannada & English.

There would be four final quiz events.

1. Children with Intellechial disability (Group A)

2. Children with Autism & Cerebral Palsy (Group B)

3. Children with Visual Impairment (Group C)

4. Children with Hearing impairment (Group D)

The Participants will get goodies with participation certificate and winners will be getting good prizes with certificate.

Newcastle University launches latest round of scholarships for Indian students

Newcastle University, UK, is offering scholarship support to exceptional students from India.

Bengaluru: The scholarships offer for 2019/20 entry includes thirteen 50% tuition fee discounts and two full tuition fee discounts as well as partial tuition fee scholarships with a value of £1,500 to £5,000. Scholarships are available to applicants applying to study at undergraduate and Master’s level for almost all subject areas.
Professor Richard Davies, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Engagement and Internationalisation, Newcastle University, UK, said: “We are privileged to continue welcoming the brightest and best students from India. They are incredibly important to Newcastle University in the way they enrich University life culturally and socially, and they make our campus a more vibrant place to be.
“Our scholars are recognised for their academic excellence and for their potential to perform well in their studies. Newcastle University scholarships have been offered in India for many years. This announcement builds on increased activity in a range of areas, including partnership with universities and institutions, such as IIT-Delhi and IIT-Mumbai, research collaboration, corporate engagement, and alumni relations.
The University launched the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships and the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships for the first time in 2018/19 entry to encourage high-quality applicants from around the world, including India.
Indian students at Newcastle University perform well on its programmes and go on to great careers and personal achievements. Scholarship provision for India expanded for the 2018/2019 academic year on these bases.
In the 2018/19 academic year 115 Indian students received international scholarships.
One of these scholars is Niveditha Sankar, a postgraduate Neuroscience student, who received a 50% Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship.
She said: “The scholarship allowed me to make a quick decision without worrying too much about arrangement of alternative funds or delaying my career goal.
“I did my bachelors in biotechnology and my interest in neuroscience made me look into universities that appreciate people from different academic backgrounds. Newcastle University not only does this but also provides various scholarships to aspiring students.
“I am excited to begin this new chapter in my life that allows me to pursue my dream field. I am looking forward to engaging with research experts and motivated peers and work in labs that stimulate critical thinking.”
Undergraduate Manufacturing Engineering student, Rohan Pritish Chandratre, added: “I received Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship at Newcastle University for my first year. It was financially very reassuring. I have decided to utilise that money for my further studies and projects as projects also need financial support and sponsorship.
“The content in my course is very well thought and on point. I feel excited to learn every part of it as I find it very useful for my future. Also, all the lecturers make it a point to explain us the context of everything so that every student can connect with the course.
“The lab sessions are very involving and full of opportunities. As, we can make our custom designs and manufacture it for the given application. As an engineering student, capability to do something like that is everything.”

The scholarships announcement follows on from the latest International Student Barometer results, which shows 93% of respondents stating they were satisfied with the University overall. Satisfaction among Newcastle University’s international students is high across a number of categories, including expert lecturers (95%), learning support (94%) and quality lectures (90%). More than nine out of 10 international students (94%) were satisfied with the Careers Service.
In addition to the scholarships schemes the University participates in the Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarships schemes which are also available to Indian applicants.

ಭಾರತದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಘಟ್ಟ ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ಹೊಸ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಹೊಸ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆದಿದೆ. ಅದು ವಿಕಸನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಗುವಿನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸುವ ಪರಿಸರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವೂ ನಮಗಿದೆ..

ದೀಕ್ಷ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಈ ಆತಿಥೇಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯು ಈ ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಕಾರದ ಚಿಂತನೆಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಒದಗಿಸಿತು. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸೂತ್ರವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡ ತಜ್ಞರು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಹೊತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಂಡಿ ಡಾ. ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಜಿ, “ಇಂದಿನ ಪ್ಯಾನಲ್ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶವು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಯುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು. ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆಯೇ ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಹಾದಿ ಯಾವುದು? ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಿಪಡಿಸದೆ ವಿಕಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಒತ್ತಡಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುವುದು?” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಎತ್ತಿದರು.
ಚರ್ಚೆ ಐದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಸುತ್ತು ಸುತ್ತಿ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು.

ಚರ್ಚೆಯು ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾಗಿ ಮಗುವಿನ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮದತ್ತ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿತು. ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಅಡಿಪಾಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುವುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇತರ ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮತೋಲನ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗಬಹುದು? ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನಾ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ನಡುವಿನ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪಠ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸರಳಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಲಾಯಿತು. ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಒತ್ತಡವನ್ನು ಶಮನಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಿಂಕ್ರೊನೈಸ್ಡ್ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದು ಇಂದಿನ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಎಂಬ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಾಯಿತು.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಟೆಕ್ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಕಲಿಕೆ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಮತೋಲನವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದು ಸುಲಭವಲ್ಲ. ಇಂದು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ, ಹಿಂದೆಂದಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು, ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ ಸಮತೋಲನ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಿದೆ. ಬಳಿಕ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆಯುವ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಲಾಯಿತು.
ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ, ಈ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಮೂಲ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯೆಂದರೆ ‘ಪ್ರತಿ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಹೇಗೆ ನೀಡಬಹುದು ಹಾಗು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನೈಜ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಬಹುದು?’ ಪ್ರತಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳತ್ತ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸದಿಂದ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಹಜ ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದರು.

ಉನ್ನತ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕಾದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾ ಸಿಇಒ ಪ್ರಮೋದ್ ಗುಪ್ತಾ, “ಇಂದು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅನೇಕ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾ ನಿರಂತರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಅರ್ಥ, ಮೌಲ್ಯ-ಆಧಾರಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಬೋಧನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಚರ್ಚಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಅಡಿಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಲು ನೆರವಾಯಿತು” ಎಂದರು.

ದೀಕ್ಷಾ “ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಗುವಿನ ಗೆಲುವಿಗಾಗಿ” ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಮೂಲ ಚಿಂತನೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸಿ ಕಾಳಜಿಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ, ಸಮರ್ಥ ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಭಾವನೆಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.
