Narayan Seva Sansthan to Host Free Limb Fitment Camp in Bengaluru for Third Consecutive YearOver 700 Differently-Abled Individuals to Benefit from the Initiative

Bengaluru, April 24 – Continuing its commitment to supporting the differently-abled, Udaipur-based NGO Narayan Seva Sansthan will host its third annual Narayan Limb and Caliper Fitment Camp in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 27. The free camp will take place at Maratha Hostel Ground, Bull Temple Road in Basavanagudi, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The event is expected to benefit over 700 pre-registered individuals who have lost limbs due to accidents or other medical conditions. The prosthetic limbs and calipers, developed using advanced German technology, will be fitted free of cost, giving many recipients a renewed sense of mobility and independence.

Branch Head Vinod Jain stated that Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working for more than four decades to bring mobility solutions to the doorsteps of differently-abled individuals across India. A preparatory measurement camp held in the city on February 2 saw the participation of over 1,050 patients, of which 694 were selected for prosthetic limb casting.

“This is not just about mobility; it’s about dignity and inclusion,” Jain said. “Many of these individuals had become dependent on their families. With the support of this initiative, they are being empowered to rejoin mainstream society.”

The official poster for the camp was released during a press conference attended by senior officials including Director Bhagwan Prasad Gaur, In-Charge Khubilal Menaria, and Lalit Lohar.

The camp will also include walking training sessions, led by a 60-member technical team from the Sansthan, to ensure recipients adapt effectively to their new limbs. Additionally, free meals will be provided to all beneficiaries throughout the day.

A number of dignitaries, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, have been invited for the inauguration ceremony, scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Over 500 social workers, community leaders, and other prominent citizens are expected to attend the event.

Narayan Seva Sansthan conducts similar fitment camps every week in various parts of India and internationally in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Meru, and Nepal. On average, the organization fits around 1,800 prosthetic limbs each month.

Founded in 1985 by Padma Shri awardee Kailash Manav, the organization has supported lakhs of differently-abled individuals through medical assistance, education, vocational training, and sports development. Its current president, Prashant Agarwal, was honored with a National Award in 2023 for his contributions to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.

To date, Narayan Seva Sansthan has fitted over 40,000 artificial limbs and continues to expand its efforts with large-scale missions like this one in Karnataka.

The organization has urged citizens and philanthropists to come forward and support the initiative, which it describes as a “movement of compassion, dignity, and social responsibility.”
