Hubli, 17th May 2024: In a significant move to support child nutrition through effective logistical contributions, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility has donated a food delivery van to The Akshaya Patra Foundation in Hubli. The newly donated vehicle shall assist in the delivery of meals by facilitating the distribution of approximately 6,000 daily meals across 28 schools within Hubli. This contribution underscores the hospital’s commitment to community welfare and aligns with Akshaya Patra’s mission to eliminate classroom hunger.

Presently, in the Hubli-Dharwad district alone, the foundation provides over 120,000 meals to students in 800 government and government-aided schools each school day. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is operating the world’s largest NGO-led school meal program, nourishing over 2 million children across 72 locations in 16 States & 2 Union Territories, every day across India.

He emphasized the importance of understanding low vision and blindness, including their causes, and highlighted the significance of early detection. Blindness signifies a complete loss or severe limitation of vision, while low vision denotes persistent visual challenges despite treatment. Optical devices, including hand-held telescopes, spectacles, and magnifiers, along with non-optical aids like reading lamps and guides, have made significant differences. Furthermore, electronic devices such as Closed-Circuit Video Magnification, as well as computer hardware and software providing screen magnification, synthesized speech, and tactile display, offer modern solutions to the challenges of low vision.
“It’s crucial to instill the habit of eye check-ups from a young age, as many vision problems can be effectively managed if detected early. By screening children between 3-5 years old, eye health professionals can identify conditions like amblyopia (lazy eye) or strabismus (crossed eyes), which, if left untreated, can lead to permanent vision impairment. Similarly, adults over 40 are at higher risk for age-related eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Annual eye examinations can catch these conditions in their early stages when treatment is most effective. Moreover, individuals with diabetes and hypertension are susceptible to diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive retinopathy, respectively, which can cause severe vision loss if left unmanaged. Regular eye check-ups for these patients are crucial for detecting signs of retinal damage early and implementing measures to prevent further progression.” added Dr. Nishanth.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ ಸಿಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಬಹುಶಿಸ್ತೀಯ ತಂಡದ ಪರಿಣತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕ್ರೀಡಾ-ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಗಾಯಗಳ ರೋಗನಿರ್ಣಯ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು ಸಮರ್ಪಿತವಾಗಿದೆ.

Hundreds of underprivileged women suffering from gynaecological issues will benefit greatly asthey will receive completely free gynaecological surgery and general surgeries worth of 2 Crores,offered by Kinder Women’s Welfare Trust. In fact, in a first-of-its-kind initiative, the trust is starting”Kinder Maa Jeevana.” This ground-breaking CSR initiative is aimed at providing completely freegynaecological surgery and general surgeries to underprivileged women in MahadevapuraConstituency, Bengaluru who otherwise may find it difficult to afford such quality treatment. ‘KinderMaa Jeevana’ is a unique project to serve the community and address the healthcare needs ofvulnerable women in our society. Through this initiative, the trust aims to provide essentialgynaecological and general surgery services to those who are unable to afford them, ensuring thatevery woman has access to quality healthcare regardless of her socio-economic status.
