Bengaluru, November 15, 2022: Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, a renowned eyecare chain spread across India and abroad, today unveiled its upgraded eye care center at Padmanabhanagar in Bengaluru. Shri. R. Ashok, Revenue Minister, Government of Karnataka and MLA – Padmanabhanagar inaugurated the Padmanabhanagar facility in the presence of Shri Anjanappa and Smt. Shobha Anjanappa, Ex BBMP Corporator – Padmanabhanagar Ward, Dr Ravi, Regional Medical Director, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, and Dr Neelima, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital.

The objective of the new upgraded center is to offer one-stop-solution for all kinds of eye ailments to the people of southern part of Bengaluru. The new center will offer free consultations for patients till November end.

Congratulating stakeholders on the launch of its a new facility, Shri. R. Ashok, Revenue Minister Govt of Karnataka, MLA – Padmanabhanagar said, “I am delighted and honoured to be part of this new center launch which I am sure will offer the best eye care service to people in south Bengaluru and beyond. L&T Financial Services inaugurates Digital Sakhi Project in Karnataka

Bengaluru, August 09, 2022 : L&T Financial Services (LTFS), a leading non-banking financial company, today announced the inauguration of its Digital Sakhi project in Karnataka. The flagship CSR project of the Company – ‘Digital Sakhi’ – trains and nurtures rural women, who in turn promote women entrepreneurship and Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) in their communities.

The inauguration of the project in Karnataka follows the success of the Digital Sakhi projects implemented in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and West Bengal. Since its inception in 2017, Digital Sakhi projects have created a cadre of 960 Digital Sakhis who have helped upskill over 5,500 women entrepreneurs. In FY22 alone, Digital Sakhis trained and empowered more than 8.60 Lakh people across 5 states on DFL.

Through, the project in Karnataka, LTFS endeavors to create a cadre of over 300 Digital Sakhis as digital enablers, who, in turn, will impart DFL trainings to over 9 Lakh community members covering topics like digital modes of payments, access to government entitlements, goal-based savings, etc. In addition, the project aims to support over 3,000 women entrepreneurs in establishing and scaling their micro-enterprises through upskilling and enterprise-development trainings.

The Digital Sakhi project in Karnataka will be implemented in partnership with Access Livelihoods Foundation– a social enterprise that works with marginalized communities to reimagine their livelihoods. Access Livelihoods Foundation is also an AIM-NITI Aayog recognized Established Incubation Centre, primarily incubating women-owned producer enterprises across primary sectors to create equitable and lasting livelihood opportunities.

New Congress office Inaugurated in Munnekolala Ward

Bengaluru: Congress leader and former Corporator S. Udaykumar has taken an initiative to establish a Congress party office to redress the pubic grievances in the Munnekolala Ward of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The office was formerly inaugurated on Friday jointly by folk expert Dr. Bananduru Kempiah, Kannada Sahitya Parishad Mahadevapura unit President T. Veerabhadraiah and political strategist and communication specialist MJ Srikant. 

Dr. Bananduru Kempiah, in his inaugural speech, wished that Udaykumar helped the poor and the oppressed in Munnekolala. He wished the ward turning to a model one the folk singer also rendered a song on the occasion.

T. Veerabhadraiah said that government has increased the wards from 198 to 243 accordingly, the no of wards in the Mahadevapura assembly constituency has gone up from 8 to 13 “Udaykumar, who had been my friend for last 25 years has won from the Munnekolala ward twice, he is a gentleman who is friendly and fair to all being an undefeated leader, he is working for the poor and the oppressed. By winning next time he should convert the Munnekolala ward in to a model one for the entire Mahadevapura assembly constituency” Veerabhadraia while extending support to Udaykumar, wished him to get more responsibilities with status.

S. Udaykumar lamented that it is increasingly difficult to get public work done by the present government, it is too much to expect from the present government its ministers and MLA’s to respond to grievances of the public because they are busy in 40% commission business. The new office of the Congress party which has been inaugurated on Friday will be open to public always, the residents of the ward can walk into the office or approach him to explain their problem and get them resolved.  Exuding confidence that he would get Congress party ticket for the 3rd consecutive time, Udaykumar said the presence of BBMP councilor are very important to respond to public issues.  He recalled that he, Senior Congress leader and MLA Ramalinga Reddy and others had repeatedly urged the government to hold the much-delayed election to the BBMP council at the earliest.  If the present government has faith in democracy it should accelerate the process of election.

On the occasion of Varamahalakshmi festival Friday, Mr. Udaykumar distributed sarees to 300 members of Streeshakti Sangh of Munnekolala Ward.  Recently the Congress leader has distributed sarees to another 150 women.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to inaugurate Amrita Hospital, Faridabad

NEW DELHI/FARIDABAD – August 5, 2022: Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, will inaugurate Amrita Hospital, Faridabad on August 24, 2022.  The 2,400-bed healthcare institution will be India’s largest private sector hospital and opens under the auspices of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Shri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), a world-renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader of millions, will grace the occasion with her presence.  Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Bandaru Dattatreya,  Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar will attend the function along with other dignitaries.  

On August 19, an auspicious ceremony of 108 homas will be held by 80 women priests and 28 male priests at the hospital premises. This will open a new chapter of compassionate and inclusive care by the Math. 

The hospital’s benefits will go beyond providing access to the latest in healthcare technology and high-quality patient care in the Delhi NCR. Amrita Hospital, Faridabad has a vision to deliver its services to a patient catchment area extending all over North and North-East India.  And then from an economic perspective, the hospital will bring immediate support to the Faridabad area with direct employment for approximately 2,000 people and indirect staff opportunities for 2,000 more. The sprawling facility in Faridabad Sector – 88 will have a total built-up area of one crore sq. ft. with a 14-floor tower that will encompass the key medical facilities and patient areas. It will be home to 81 specialities and eight Centres of Excellence, including oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, gastro-sciences, renal sciences, bone diseases & trauma, transplants, and mother & child care. The hospital will also have India’s largest facility to tackle infectious diseases.
