Ghiloth, December 23rd, 2021: Havells India Ltd, the leading ‘Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG)’ company in the country, today announced its vision to bolster its ‘Make in India’ strategy by showcasing its industry-first‘ Industry 4.0’manufacturing plant for Lloyd ACs in Ghiloth, Rajasthan. Diversifying its manufacturing prowess further, the Company has now also entered Washing Machine (WM) production at the same location in Ghiloth where the AC plant is located.The Washing Machine plant was inaugurated today by Mr. Amitabh Kant,Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog. Spread over 50 acres at Ghiloth, the greenfield WM unit will significantly strengthen Lloyd’sWM production capacity with a targeted output of3 lakh units annually.
With the enhanced manufacturing capacity, Lloyd is poised to have ~20 models of WMs and 50 SKUs of ACs in 2022, aiming to bolsterits presence in the domestic consumer durables segment. Currently manufacturing washing machines, the facility is equipped to expand to over 5 lakh units annually. The manufacturing plant consists of best-in-class machinery from Japan, Korea and Italy and is equipped with cutting-edge technologically advanced10 Robotic machines and AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicle) and a fully integrated material management system. The plant also has Management Execution System – MES from Dassault, France which helps in real time monitoring of processes thereby improving productivity and reducing loss-time & wastage.

On his visit at the most advanced robotic and Industry 4.0 compliant consumer durable manufacturing plant, Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog said, “The state-of-the-art facility for manufacturing Lloyd AC & Washing Machinesat Ghiloth is a testimony of Havells’ commitment towards Government’s aim to build an Atmanirbhar Bharat. Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital launches its new hospital in Indiranagar & plans to invest ₹175 crore in Karnataka over the next two years

Bengaluru, December 11, 2021: India’s leading eyecare specialists, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital plans to invest over ₹ 175 crore in expanding its presence in Karnataka over the next two years. The hospital chain made this announcement at the inauguration of its super-speciality eye care center at Indiranagar in Bengaluru.

The new center is offering free consultations for patients who are 50 years or above till the month end. Karnatakas Honourable Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr K Sudhakar inaugurated the Indiranagar facility in the presence of Dr. Adil Agarwal, CEO, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital. Shri P C Mohan, MP Bangalore Central also attended the event.

In the next two years, Dr Agarwal’s will set up around 25 hospitals in Karnataka at an investment of ₹150 crore. In addition, the Group will set up more than 30 vision centers at an investment of ₹ 25 crore, taking its total investment in the state to ₹ 175 crore over a two year period.

Dr Adil Agarwal, CEO, Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, is optimistic about the Group’s growth prospects in Karnataka. “Karnataka has been a revenue generator for the Group, contributing approximately ₹100 crore to our overall business. Currently, we have 15 centers in the state (11 in Bangalore and 4 outside Bangalore). In the next 36 months, with all the expansion that we have lined up, we expect the state to contribute to ₹ 200 crore to the Groups business. Karnataka is an important state for us and we are committed to expanding our presence here both in Bengaluru and outside the city, he said.

Inaugurating the new facility at Indiranagar, Honourable Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr K Sudhakar, said, I am happy to inaugurate the new center at Indiranagar, which I am sure will offer the best eye care service to people in East Bengaluru and beyond. Vision care can change lives and Dr. Agarwals has been changing lives one at a time. It is good to know that Dr. Agarwals is opening more clinics across the state. The hospital chain is doing exemplary work in the field of eye care and new centers across the state will help more people receive the best eye care, he said.

Dr. Agarwals newest center in Indiranagar will be a refractive hub for the hospital chain, which means that all refractive surgeries from all of Dr. Agarwals branches in Karnataka will be performed out of this center. The center is equipped with advanced technology and the latest equipment to provide comprehensive eyecare in a holistic manner. The hospital is housed in two floors, spread across approximately 5,000 sq ft. The center will provide patients with 360-degree comprehensive eyecare under one roof, offering services such as general ophthalmology, cataract services, laser cataract surgery, retina & cornea services, glaucoma & orbit, refractive surgery and paediatric ophthalmology.

With the inauguration of this center, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospitals now has a total network presence of 102 hospitals spread across India and Africa. The Groups presence spans across 11 countries and over 10 states in India. Its facilities are staffed by a team of over 400 ophthalmologists and 4,000 employees.

Dr. Agarwals has treated over 12 million patients so far and offers not only quality eyecare, but also academic and research programs in ophthalmology and related fields. The chain has been on a growth spree across the country, with more than 60 units added to its network in the past five years alone with latest addition made in Vijayawada in December, 2021.
