Fortis Launches Four Specialised Clinics in Bengaluru to Tackle Under-Discussed Health Issues

Fortis launches four specialised clinics in Bengaluru to address sensitive health concerns

Bengaluru, March 11: Fortis Healthcare on Wednesday announced the launch of four specialised clinics across its hospital network in Bengaluru, aimed at addressing several sensitive and often under-discussed health issues.
The clinics – Man Clinic, Incontinence Clinic, Restorative Gynaecology Clinic, and Mobile Lithotripsy Services – were inaugurated by Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, Government of Karnataka, in the presence of doctors, hospital leadership, staff and patients. Around 150 people attended the event.

According to the hospital group, the newly introduced services aim to provide focused and patient-centric care while encouraging people to seek treatment for conditions that are often neglected due to social stigma or lack of awareness.
The Man Clinic will focus on men’s health issues such as sexual wellness, prostate-related problems, infertility, hormonal imbalances and lifestyle-related conditions. The facility will provide multidisciplinary care with an emphasis on privacy and specialised treatment.

The Incontinence Clinic will cater to patients suffering from urinary or bowel incontinence across different age groups and genders. The clinic will combine expertise from urology, gynaecology and physiotherapy to offer advanced diagnostic and minimally invasive treatment options.

The Restorative Gynaecology Clinic will provide care for women facing intimate health concerns, functional issues and certain aesthetic gynaecological conditions, using evidence-based treatment approaches delivered with discretion.

The hospital group also introduced Mobile Lithotripsy Services, a minimally invasive technology designed to treat kidney stones more efficiently while reducing hospital stay and improving patient comfort.

Speaking at the inauguration, Patil said healthcare must evolve not only through technology but also by addressing sensitive health concerns with openness and dignity. Initiatives like these, he said, can help break social stigma and encourage people to seek timely medical consultation.

Dr. Mohan Keshavamurthy, Principal Director – Renal Sciences at Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, said conditions such as male sexual health issues, incontinence and kidney stones are more common than generally acknowledged, but many patients delay treatment due to hesitation in discussing them.
“Through these clinics, we hope to normalise conversations around such health concerns while offering advanced and minimally invasive treatment backed by multidisciplinary expertise,” he said.

Dr. Ananth Rao, Vice President and Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, said the initiative strengthens the hospital group’s focus on specialised and patient-centric healthcare. He added that the clinics combine advanced medical technology with integrated clinical pathways designed to ensure patient privacy, comfort and dignity.

SPARSH Hospitals Launch Lifelong Vaccination Initiative Covering Children to Elderly

Vaccination for All: SPARSH Hospitals Launch Structured Life-Course Immunisation Programme in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, March 11, 2026: In a move aimed at strengthening preventive healthcare, the SPARSH Group of Hospitals has launched a comprehensive Life-Course Vaccination (LCV) programme in Bengaluru. The initiative is among the first structured hospital-led vaccination programmes designed to cover individuals across all age groups—from children to the elderly.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon of SPARSH Hospitals, in the presence of Jasdeep Singh, Group CEO; Dr. Ranjan Shetty, Group Medical Director and Lead Consultant–Cardiologist; and other senior healthcare professionals.
The initiative will be introduced in phases, starting with the hospital’s flagship facility on Infantry Road in Bengaluru and gradually expanding to other SPARSH centres across the city.

The programme is being supported by Zydus Lifesciences Ltd. as a knowledge and awareness partner. The company will provide educational resources and capacity-building support alongside the hospital’s internal clinical expertise, led by infectious disease specialist Dr. John Paul.
Healthcare experts say India currently faces a dual burden of disease. Estimates from the World Health Organization indicate that non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular conditions, diabetes and cancers account for nearly 63–65% of deaths in the country. At the same time, infectious diseases including influenza and pneumonia continue to pose risks, particularly for vulnerable groups.

The Life-Course Vaccination programme seeks to promote immunisation as a lifelong preventive measure, extending protection beyond childhood vaccines to adolescents, adults, senior citizens and other high-risk groups. The initiative also addresses a key gap in India’s healthcare system, where adult vaccination remains significantly underutilised despite increasing health risks.

As part of the programme, individuals will be encouraged to consider recommended vaccines across different life stages, including HPV vaccines for cervical cancer prevention, shingles vaccines for herpes zoster, pneumococcal vaccines to prevent pneumonia and invasive infections, and Tdap/Td boosters that protect against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Patil said India’s healthcare system must increasingly move towards prevention rather than focusing solely on treatment. “Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools in preventive medicine, yet adult immunisation is still widely overlooked. Life-course vaccination recognises that protection is required at every stage of life—from childhood to old age,” he said.

SPARSH Hospitals will also integrate vaccination assessments into routine medical care across departments. Doctors and healthcare teams will review vaccination status during OPD visits, hospital admissions, emergency consultations and follow-up appointments to ensure patients receive timely preventive guidance.

Highlighting the operational approach of the programme, Jasdeep Singh said the initiative aims to embed preventive care into everyday hospital practice. “By integrating vaccination checks into routine patient interactions, we want to make preventive healthcare simple and accessible. Every patient visiting our hospitals should receive appropriate advice and support to remain protected throughout life,” he said.

The hospital group said the initiative is expected to improve vaccination coverage among high-risk groups, reduce the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases and encourage a broader culture of preventive healthcare in the community.

Free Eye Check-ups for Women: Dr Agarwals Launches ‘Gift Her Clear Vision’ Campaign

Bengaluru, March 6: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has launched a nationwide campaign titled ‘Gift Her Clear Vision’ to provide free eye check-ups and consultations to women, marking International Women’s Day. The initiative aims to reach one million women through the hospital network’s more than 280 eye hospitals and vision care centres across India.

The campaign seeks to address a growing concern that many women in the country tend to place family and caregiving responsibilities ahead of their own health needs, often delaying eye examinations and treatment. According to the hospital, this tendency increases the risk of preventable vision problems among women.

As part of the initiative, individuals are encouraged to pledge a free eye examination for an important woman in their lives. Participants can register by scanning a QR code and completing a short pledge form available on the hospital’s website or by calling 9003888444 to nominate a woman for a complimentary eye check-up. After a nomination is made, the hospital team will contact the nominated individual and schedule a priority appointment at the nearest centre between March 8 and 31.

Dr Ashvin Agarwal, Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Ophthalmologist at the hospital, said studies suggest that nearly 65% of women in India postpone seeking eye care despite experiencing vision-related issues. He added that an estimated 2.5 million women face the risk of avoidable vision loss each year, often due to caregiving duties, social factors and financial constraints that delay timely medical attention.

Dr Sanjana Vatsa, Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Bengaluru unit of the hospital, said the campaign offers comprehensive eye examinations and clinical consultations for women across the country. She noted that early and regular eye check-ups play a key role in detecting eye conditions at an early stage and ensuring appropriate treatment.

To facilitate the programme, the hospital has introduced priority consultation hours for women during both weekdays and weekends across its centres. Dedicated consultation slots, expedited check-in procedures and private consultation spaces on Sundays have also been arranged to ensure convenient access to eye care services. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of preventive eye care among women, the hospital said.
