Erode Vasan Eye Hospital Reopens with State-of-the-Art Facilities

Erode: Vasan Eye Hospital in Erode has been revamped with modern infrastructure and advanced medical equipment, offering upgraded facilities for public healthcare. The newly renovated hospital was formally inaugurated in a special ceremony graced by Hon’ble Minister for Housing, Prohibition and Excise, Mr. S. Muthusamy, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the occasion.

The event witnessed the presence of Erode East MLA Mr. V. Chandrakumar, Erode Mayor Mrs. Nagarathinam Subramaniam, and Mr. S. Sivanandan, Secretary of Kongu Educational Institutions, along with other dignitaries.

Distinguished guests from the Tamil Nadu Government Pensioners’ Association, including Mr. Natarajan, Mr. Soundararajan, Mr. Murugesan, Mr. Sivasubramani, Mr. Mani, Mr. Kandhasamy, Mr. Kathirvel, Mr. Sivalingam, and Mr. Paramasivam, also attended the event.

Minister Mr. S. Muthusamy and Dr. K. Kamalbabu, Medical Director of Vasan Eye Hospital, honoured the leaders of the pensioners’ association in recognition of their contributions. Dr. Kamalbabu also addressed the public, outlining the advanced services and facilities now available at the hospital. Mr. Sundaramurugesan, Director of Vasan Eye Hospital, delivered a keynote speech detailing the hospital’s specialties.

The hospital’s medical team, including Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Sindhanai, Dr. Keerthana, Dr. Saranya, and Dr. Preethi Madhubala, along with hospital staff and members of the public, participated in the event.

Notably, as part of the inauguration, free cataract surgeries were successfully performed on 25 senior citizens under the Tamil Nadu Government Insurance Scheme by Dr. Kamalbabu.

MG Windsor PRO Makes a Powerful Entry in Bengaluru with 150 Deliveries

Bengaluru, May 17 – In a significant milestone for the electric vehicle (EV) market in Bengaluru, Jubilant Motorworks on Saturday delivered 150 units of the newly launched MG Windsor PRO to customers across the city. The large-scale handover event highlights the growing demand for premium EVs in the urban market.

The MG Windsor PRO, which debuted nationally on May 6, 2025, has already garnered considerable attention, registering 8,000 bookings within 24 hours of its launch. Positioned as an upgrade to the original Windsor, the PRO variant features enhanced technology, improved range, and advanced safety systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Jain, Chief Executive Officer of Jubilant Motorworks, said, “The MG Windsor has disrupted the Bengaluru four-wheeler EV market with its compelling value proposition. Car buyers here have appreciated the Windsor for offering the right balance of premium features and a sustainable driving experience. The Windsor PRO is available in the “Essence PRO” variant, priced at Rs. 18,09,800 (ex-showroom). It is also offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option at Rs. 13.09 lakh, with a usage charge of Rs. 4.5 per km*. The vehicle is powered by a 52.9 kWh battery pack, providing a certified range of 449 km, and delivers 136 PS of power with 200 Nm of torque, enabling a smooth and efficient driving experience.

A key highlight of the model is the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which offer 12 core safety features and three levels of warning alerts. The vehicle is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities, enhancing utility and connectivity for users.

Further updates include a powered tailgate and the introduction of three new colour options: Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red, adding aesthetic appeal to the vehicle’s design.

The high-volume delivery in Bengaluru underscores the city’s growing interest in electric mobility and MG’s strong position in the EV market. With its combination of performance, safety, and smart features, the Windsor PRO is expected to further boost the adoption of EVs in the region.

Detects and blocks malicious websites across all communications platforms including email, OTTs and SMSes in real time

New Delhi, May 15, 2025: In continuation of its fight against spam, Airtel today unveiled a new cutting-edge solution that will detect and block malicious websites across all communication Over-The-Top (OTT) apps and platforms including emails, browsers, OTTs like WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, SMSes etc., in real time. This safe service will be seamlessly integrated with, and auto- enabled for, all Airtel mobile and broadband customers at no additional cost. When a customer tries to access a website flagged as malicious by Airtel’s advanced security system, the page load is blocked, and customers are redirected to a page explaining the reason for the block.
The threat of online fraud is growing everyday as a result of digital platforms becoming increasingly ubiquitous across the country and posing a serious risk to consumers. There is an alarming surge in such threats in the last few days. Fraudulent schemes have evolved far beyond mere OTP frauds and deceptive calls, with recent reports indicating that millions of individuals have fallen victim to malicious online scams. Recognizing the gravity of this situation, Airtel has implemented an AI-powered, multi-tiered intelligence platform designed to safeguard customers from the full spectrum of scams and fraud. It intends to do so by introducing a state-of-the-art threat detection platform that will conduct domain filtering across all platforms and block the link across devices.
