Bangalore, July 20th, 2023: KRAFTON, Inc. announces BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES (BGIS) 2023, the first ever BGIS tournament with a LAN event finale. Touted as the biggest Battle Royale Esports tournament in India, BGIS will witness thousands of teams competing for a prize money of INR 2 crore. Keeping in sync with its commitment to provide local experiences for players and fans, the Grand Finals of the event will be broadcast in 10 languages, including English, Hindi, and 8 other regional languages, making sure the excitement reaches every corner of the country.

BGIS 2023 will commence streaming on July 20th and conclude on October 14th, 2023. The tournament has been divided into two phases: the Online qualifiers and Offline Grand Finals which will be held on-ground from October 12th to 14th, with fans being welcome to attend.

BGIS 2023 commences with The Grind where 256 invited teams will compete fiercely to secure their position among the top 64 teams, who make it to Round 2 and Round 3 of the tournament. The Grind will determine which of the invited teams, as well as the players that advance via the In-Game Qualifiers, will compete in the main event. Fans can catch The Grind on KRAFTON INDIA ESPORTS YouTube channel, starting 20th July, every day at 12pm IST.

Registrations will take place from July 24th to August 2nd, with verifications taking place from August 3rd to August 9th. Players should make sure to enter details correctly to avoid elimination in the verification stage. From August 10th to August 17th, the verified teams will engage in intense in-game qualifiers through 15 classic matches, with their top 10 match scores determining their rankings.

Of this, 2048 teams will qualify for Round 1. These 2048 teams will then play in a group of 16 from Round 1 – Round 6 wherein the top teams will keep proceeding to the next round, leading up to the electrifying Grand Finale. The doors will be wide open for fans, as the best of the best clash for the ultimate glory in the LAN event, which will be held from October 12th to 14th.

OYO Launches ‘Spotless Stay’ program; to conduct 3000+ hotel audits per month

Bangalore, 17 July 2023: Global hospitality technology company OYO has launched a flagship customer experience program, ‘Spotless Stay,’ to deliver an enhanced stay experience. The program was initiated after the company’s consumer research findings revealed that clean and hygienic room was the topmost feature in customer experience journey, followed by property aesthetics.  As a part of the Spotless Stay program, hotels with high cleanliness ratings from customers will be awarded benefits such as high search rankings.

As a part of the program, OYO’s on-field officers will conduct a comprehensive on-ground audit of one property every day, leading to a total of 3000+ audits each month. This number will be scaled to [6000 audits per month by October 2023. The hotels will be carefully assessed for overall upkeep and maintenance of the property, cleanliness, in-room hygiene, maintenance of upholstery and linen, and washroom cleanliness, while also taking into account the customer ratings received during the week prior to the audit.

The property owners will be asked to conduct an overhaul and thorough deep cleaning, including replacement of upholstery, linen, sheets, and pillow covers. A follow-up audit will be conducted within one week to track the progress in case any area is found lacking. In case the issue persists, such hotels will be put on performance improvement plan to ensure that the required parameters are met.

The company has already implemented the Spotless Stay initiative across 250+ OYO hotels. Post the audits overall customer satisfaction score improved by 35%. The same will be implemented across all OYO properties by the end of July.

Talking about the new initiative, Shreerang Godbole, Chief Service Officer – OYO said: “We are committed to addressing one of the biggest issues that our customers face, head-on. There is no denying that in-room hygiene and property upkeep has been a persistent pain-point for many of our customers. However, we realised that without physical presence on the ground and assuming direct responsibility, we couldn’t effectively tackle this issue. By conducting regular audits and addressing any areas of concern by engaging with property managers, we hope to promptly address cleanliness issues and provide a consistent experience to our guests.”

OYO has consistently been undertaking initiatives to improve customer experience. Currently, 70% of the customer queries are resolved within 30 minutes, a metric that OYO is trying to further improve upon. B.PAC and WRI India launch the Personal2Public campaign

The public transport focused campaign, launched in collaboration with civil society groups and corporates, announces Bengaluru commuter survey

Bengaluru, 13 July 2023: Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) and WRI India today launched the #Personal2Public campaign to inspire commuters to use public transport at least twice a week. The launch, at the Bengaluru Press Club, was attended by representatives from several corporate organizations and citizen groups.

2023 is a significant year for Bengaluru as the much-awaited metro lines to some of the most contested parts of the city – Whitefield and Electronic City – become operational. The new metro lines can reduce traffic congestion to and from these areas significantly. This underscores the need to make the metro and other public transport modes, more viable to further decongest the city and reduce air pollution. Some of the factors that impact metro usage, for instance, include the lack of reliable first and last mile connectivity and time spent waiting for suitable modes of transport.

Research from an upcoming WRI India-Toyota Mobility Foundation working paper shows that walking and low cost shared modes are the most popular last-mile modes among metro commuters. The research also indicates that commuters consider the metro viable if they can access it within a specific time. Reducing traffic congestion and providing convenient and affordable last-mile solutions will be key to getting more people to use the metro.

On the lines of the study, ‘The #Personal2Public Bengaluru Commuter Survey’ seeks to analyse commuter travel patterns and identify gaps in metro access. The survey, while open to all, will specifically solicit participation from commuters and residents in the Whitefield, Mahadevapura, Electronic City, and ORR areas. The results of the survey will be mapped to available data analytics, with the Personal2Public team presenting actionable solutions, both at the city and station-level, to key representatives from BMRCL, BMTC, BBMP and DULT.
