ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ದೇಶದ ರಾಜಕಾರಣ, ತುಘಲಕ್ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಶೂನ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬರೀ ಬಾಯಿಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರೆ ಸಾಲದು. ಅದು ಕಾರ್ಯರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬೇಕು. ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಬಾಂಡ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಹಣದ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಲು ಎಸ್. ಬಿ. ಐ. ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಯ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ತುಂಬಾ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟಕರ ಸಂಗತಿ. ಕಾರಣ ದೇಶದ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಟ್ರಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಸಾಲ ಬೆಳೆ ಸಾಲ ಇನ್ನಿತರೆ ಸಾಲಗಳ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ದಾನಿಗಳಿಂದ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಬಾಂಡ್ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಮಯ ಕೇಳುವುದು ನೋಡಿದರೆ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್. ಬಿ. ಐ. ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿದ ಕೋರ್ಟ್, ನಾಳೆ ಸಂಜೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಗಳ ಡೇಟಾವನ್ನು ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿರುವ ಸ್ವಾಗತ.

ಬರಗಾಲದಿಂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅನ್ನ ಕೊಡುವ ರೈತನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ತೀರಾ ಶೋಚನೀಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿಗೆ ತತ್ವಾರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಳೆಗಳು, ಇಲ್ಲ. ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಮೇವಿನ ಕೊರತೆಯುಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ರೈತನ ಜ್ವಲಂತ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು, ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇವರು ಆರೋಪ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾರೋಪ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಕಾಲಹರಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ರೈತರು ಈ ಬಾರಿ, ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ದಿ ಕಲಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜನತೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ವಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ನಮಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಆಫ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್.ವಿ ಸ್ಥಾವರಮಠ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಲೋಕ್ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ ರವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Bangalore, March 05, 2024: Roche Pharma India marked its foray into the Ophthalmology space by launching Vabysmo® (faricimab) for the treatment of neovascular or “wet” age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). Neovascular AMD and DME are two leading causes of vision loss worldwide.

Vabysmo® is the first and only dual-pathway-inhibitor that uniquely targets and inhibits two disease pathways linked to a number of vision threatening retinal conditions. It neutralises both angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) which are key proteins involved in the development and progression of retinal conditions, contributing to vision loss by destabilising blood vessels in the eye. 

As the world’s first bispecific antibody, Vabysmo is a single molecule designed to target and inhibit the effects of two targets, providing the benefits of two medicines in one. Current treatment options target VEGF alone, and therefore only partially address the biology of the disease. By blocking both pathways involving Ang-2 and VEGF-A, Vabysmo® offers people the first new MoA (mechanism of action) in more than 15 years for nAMD and close to a decade for DME, stabilising blood vessels in the retina and improving vision outcomes. 

Vabysmo® has the potential to transform the existing Standard of Care (SoC) as the burden associated with currently available treatment options for nAMD and DME such as frequent eye injections (typically required every one to two months) and physician visits can lead to under treatment and less-than-optimal vision outcomes. Vabysmo® offers better treatment durability and flexible dosing, with patients requiring eye injections at intervals of up to once in four months, while achieving similar vision gains and anatomical improvements.

Preventable and treatable vision loss is a growing global public health concern. A staggering 2.2 billion people1 live with vision impairment worldwide that could either be prevented or treated. Retinal conditions are now affecting more people than ever before. More than ~300 million patients globally2 and ~11 million patients in India3 suffer from retinal vision loss. India is home to one-third of the blind population of the world. Furthermore, in India, the prevalence of wAMD and severe DME stands at approximately 4 million4. 

Vabysmo® (faricimab) was first approved by the USFDA in January 2022. It is today available in across 90+ countries and more than 2 million doses have been administered till date.

Bengaluru, 26 February 2024:Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India, today inaugurated 21 new branches in Karnataka. These branches were inaugurated by Chief Guest – Shri. DK Shivakumar, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and Shri. Priyank Kharge, Honorable Cabinet Minister, Minister of State for IT, BT and Science & Technology in the presence of senior leadership from Axis Bank – Mr. Amitabh Chaudhry, MD&CEO; Mr. Subrat Mohanty, Executive Director – Banking Operations & Transformation; Mr. Ravi Narayanan, Group Executive & Head – Branch Banking, Retail Liabilities and Products and Arnika Dixit, President & Head- Branch Banking.

These new branches are strategically located across various regions of the state namely Bengaluru, Udupi, Vijayapura, Haveri, Hassan, Koppal, Tumkur, Shimoga and Vijayanagara. Among these, 9 branches are situated in metropolitan areas, 4 in urban centers, 3 in semi-urban regions, 2 in rural areas, and 3 in rural unbanked regions. The newly inaugurated branches will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology-driven banking solutions, aimed at enhancing customer convenience and efficiency.
