Karnataka’s focus on electric mobility and advanced manufacturing received a significant boost on Monday with Shri M.B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries (excluding Sugar), rolling out Yamaha’s first electric scooter, the EC-06, in the state. The roll-out took place at River Mobility’s manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Bengaluru Rural district, in the presence of elected representatives and senior government officials.

The event was also attended by Shri Sharath Kumar Bacche Gowda, Hon’ble MLA, Hoskote, Ms. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director, Department of Industries & Commerce and Chairman, Mr Aravind Mani & Vipin George, Founder’s, River Mobility, Mr. Jim Aota, Chairman, Yamaha India; and senior representatives from Yamaha and Mitsui, including Mr. Yamamoto, Mr. Mochizuki, Mr. Koeda, Mr. Inagaki, and Mr. Ashimoto.

The commencement of EC-06 production marks a key milestone in Karnataka’s journey to emerge as a leading hub for electric mobility and future-ready manufacturing. Addressing the gathering, Shri M.B. Patil said the roll-out of a world-class electric scooter from Karnataka reflects the state’s readiness to lead the next phase of mobility. He noted that the Yamaha EC-06, manufactured in Hoskote, represents a shift towards practical, high-quality urban mobility solutions designed for Indian conditions. The project is expected to generate employment, strengthen the local supply chain, and open new opportunities for MSMEs in and around Hoskote.

Shri Sharath Kumar Bacche Gowda highlighted River Mobility’s strong roots in Karnataka and credited the company for identifying a new niche in utility-focused electric two-wheelers. He lauded the founders for driving innovation in a legacy automobile sector and emphasised the importance of retaining core values as the company scales.

The roll-out aligns with Karnataka’s Industrial Policy 2025–30, which prioritises advanced manufacturing and future mobility. With increasing investments from global players across automotive, electronics, and technology sectors, Karnataka continues to reinforce its reputation as a trusted and globally competitive manufacturing hub.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: 1924ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 12ರಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ದೇವಾಂಗ ಸಂಘ (ರಿ) ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವದ ಗಡಿ ತಲುಪಿದ್ದು, ನೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಘ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಜಿ. ರಮೇಶ್ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಆಫ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ನೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಆರಂಭಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಾಂಗ ಸಂಘ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿತು. ಈ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್‌ನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 8 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪದವೀಧರರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಬಂದು, ಇಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್‌ಗಳು, ವೈದ್ಯರು, ಐಎಎಸ್, ಐಪಿಎಸ್, ಕೆಎಎಸ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿವಿಧ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂಘದ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಸದ್ಯ ದೇವಾಂಗ ಸಂಘ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷದ ಜೂನ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 60 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ಸಿಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘದ ಸೇವೆ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿದೆ. 1981ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ದೇವಾಂಗ ಸಂಘ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಎಲ್.ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ಯಿಂದ 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಸಾವಿರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 2004ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜು, 2007ರಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪದವಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಎ, ಬಿಕಾಂ, ಬಿಬಿಎ ಕೋರ್ಸ್‌ಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಿವೆ. 2023ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ಕಾನೂನು ಪದವಿ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹಾಗೂ 2024ರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಿಕಾಂ–ಎಲ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಬಿ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸುಮಾರು 150 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇವಾಂಗ ಕಾನೂನು ವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಂಘದ ಶಾಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತೀ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಶುಲ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ದೊರೆಯುವಂತೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತ ಊಟ ಹಾಗೂ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂಘವು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಹಾದಾನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪತಿಯಪ್ಪನವರ ಜಯಂತಿ, ದೇವಾಂಗ ಮೂಲಪುರುಷ ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವಲ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳ ಜಯಂತಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ ಜಯಂತಿ, ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನವಮಿ, ಲಲಿತಾ ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ ಪಠಣ, ಆಯುಧಪೂಜೆ, ಋಗ್ವೋಪಾಕರ್ಮ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಪಡೆದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸಂಘ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ ಪೀಠ ಹಂಪಿಯ ಹೇಮಕೂಟದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ದಯಾನಂದ ಪುರಿ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ, ಕೊಂಡೆವೂರು ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಯೋಗಾಶ್ರಮದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಯೋಗಾನಂದ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ, ಆದಿಚುಂಚನಗಿರಿ ಮಹಾಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಪೀಠಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಡಾ. ನಿರ್ಮಲಾನಂದ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಆಶೀರ್ವಚನ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ 25 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.
ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ತಪ್ಪದೇ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ಸಂಘದ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಜನತೆಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಜಿ. ರಮೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
