4th Feb is World Cancer Day and this year’s theme is ‘ Close The Care Gap’ … realising People living with cancer regardless of race ,gender, ethicinity socioeconomic status ,new technologies of cancer therapies should be accessible and affordable for everyone .

Cancer is one of the world’s leading causes of death, and its burden is growing. In 2021, the world crossed a new threshold – an estimated 20 million people were diagnosed with cancer, and 10 million died. These numbers will continue to rise in the decades ahead. And yet all cancers can be treated, and many can be prevented . Cancer mortality can be reduced if cases are detected and treated early.

Cancer can be eradicated through early detection of cancer and appropriate treatment and care of patients who develop cancer.

Many cancers have a high chance of cure if diagnosed early and treated appropriately. Said Dr Ashu shah Director of Asian Health care .

She said our ASC Foundation efforts are focused on breast cancer , cervical cancer, Lung cancer and childhood cancer . All cancer can be eliminated easily by early detection and screening. Dr Ashu shah said solutions are complex which is why we are glad to partner with Intass oncology to raise awareness and address these challenges .

There are two components of Early detection :

Early cancer is more likely to respond to treatment and can result in a greater probability of survival and less morbidity, as well as less physical ,mental and financial suffering.
Early detection of Cancer can also reduces Chances of serious and more painful therapies that are needed in later stages .

There are two major enabling factors for early detection .

1 Education and Awareness to promote early diagnosis.

2.Screening tests to detect them early .

Screening is the basic important element of comprehensive cancer prevention and control but decisions on what to include in a cancer programme

I always emphasize that The best examiners are You in You.
It is said to notice symptoms like lump in the breasts . Unfortunately it is presented at late stages . It is time to wake up.The best time to examine your breast every month is immediately after your periods .

This World Cancer Day , my appeal / request to GOI ( Govt . Of India ) is to provide Free Mammogram and HPV ( Human papillomavirus virus ) vaccination to all and It is high time our leaders should raise the awareness and provide free Mammogram facility in all Government hospitals instead of women getting it done at private hospitals as most of them are not in a position to pay .

Mainly the government hospitals should have free mammogram facilities to all which helps in curbing this dreaded disease with earlier detection.

We are now in an age where new technology and care counter cancer’s fatality

Let us pledge to create awareness and unite in this fight against cancers and close the care gap!

Bengaluru, 28th January 2022: SPARSH Group of Hospitals has launched a new Multi-Organ Transplant Centre at Sparsh RR Nagar Unit, Mysore Road, Bengaluru to offer comprehensive and multidisciplinary care to patients. Led by Dr. Kumud Dhital, a globally renowned Heart & Lung Transplant Surgeon, SPARSH Multi-Organ Transplant Centre brings together a team of 50 highly experienced transplant specialists who will provide integrated care during every step of the transplant process.

An estimated 5,00,00 lakh Indians die each year waiting for organ transplants. A report by NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) suggests that only 1500 of the 30,000 patients requiring liver transplants annually benefit from this life saving procedure. Similarly, the discrepancy is considerably worse for heart and lung transplants. The deceased organ donation rate in India at less than 1 percent per million population, is a major handicap, and translates to less than one person per million opting to donate their organs. Superstitions and stigma, lack of transplant coordinators, and lack of required infrastructure for certifying and maintaining brain-dead patients are the reasons behind the low donation numbers in India. While lack of organ donation is one side of the story, the other is the lack of required processes, skilled experts, hospital infrastructure, and the lack of sufficient examples of long-term organ transplant survivors in the community that become the role models for organ transplantation.

SPARSH Multi-Organ Transplant Centre has been designed to address the gaps that exist in organ transplant and the management of organ failure. The 50 member multidisciplinary team at SPARSH encompasses a group of highly skilled and experienced doctors. Over the last several years, Sparsh has been undertaking pioneering work in the areas of Liver, Kidney, and Bone Marrow transplantation. With Dr Dhital joining the team, SPARSH will now offer a comprehensive transplant program covering Heart & Lung, Liver, Pancreas, Kidney, and Bone Marrow transplant. Facebook live in Kannada on PCOS

Bengaluru: A new series of Facebook live in Kannada titled “Nimma Aarogya, Nimma Savaalu” will be launched on 17 January 2022 at 3 p.m. to specifically address questions related to PCOS — Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

An estimated one in five Indian women suffer from PCOS. The programme aims to raise awareness amidst the Kannada-speaking community all over the world about women’s healthcare, and break the language barrier in which health information is delivered, thereby reaching every girl and every woman. It is a mission undertaken by Federation of International Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (FIGO) Chair of Well Woman Healthcare, Dr. Hema Divakar. 

This series is part of Health For Her, a special initiative and app being launched by the organization Artist For Her, with support from Divakars Service Trust, in association with DocSpacePlus.

The six-episode series, which will go live every 15 days on Mondays at 3 p.m., will address several questions in a conversational style so that the prevailing myths and misconceptions in the space of women’s health are dispelled. In the coming weeks, various topics of interest spanning menstrual health, maternal health, mental health and menopausal health will be addressed.

This will go a long way in empowering girls and women to take measures for preventing illness and promoting wellness.

The program will have the best of national experts from the region, who will speak in Kannada on the issue of PCOS.

The series will soon be available in other Indian regional languages also. The talks will later be made available on YouTube as well.

After 17 January, questions can be asked on the HealthforHer app (Google Play Store & IOS) to reach more doctors.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Firstaction Studios and Danish Sait, Humble Politician Nograj is written and directed by Saad Khan. The 10 episodic web series is all set to release on 6th January on Voot Select. The series is a satirical comedy based on the popular and critically acclaimed Kannada film with the same title, Humble Politician Nograj. Humble Politician Nograj is filled with unexpected twists and turns as the corrupt and chauvinistic Nograj sets out on a journey from being an MLA to vying for the most prestigious post in Karnataka – that of the Chief Minister. Ace comedian Danish Sait will be seen as Nograj, a conceited and self-serving civil servant. The funny political potboiler will also star Prakash Belawadi, Vinay Chendoor and Disha Madan in pivotal roles.

To promote the series, Voot Select announced the series in a never seen before avatar, Danish Saad made a grand entry in a jeep with the audience rallying and campaigning for him, just like what we see during political rallies. As the theme of the show suggests, Danish was seen in his character Nograj unveiling his own statue and distributing sweets along with director Saad Khan. The gimmick did catch a lot of eyeballs in the media as well as the audience, turning out to be a huge success.
