Congress Leaders Mark Rahul Gandhi’s Birthday by Distributing Sweets at Orphanage

Bengaluru, June 19:
To mark the birthday of National Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi, a special outreach program was organized by Shri Khallel, President, and Shri Anwar Pasha, Vice President of the Street Vendors Cell, Bangalore Central District Congress Committee. As part of the celebration, sweets were distributed to underprivileged children at an orphanage located near Hasnath College on Dickinson Road.

The event was attended by several prominent leaders from the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). Chief guests included Dr. Yoonas Jones, Vice President of KPCC Human Resource Development Cell; Smt. Asma Khanam, General Secretary of KPCC Mahila Congress; Shri Guna Shekar, Media Incharge of the SC/ST Wing, KPCC; Pastor Raju; Shri Inayath, DSS Leader; and Smt. Iman Taj.

The orphanage management and several local dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The initiative reflected the Congress party’s continued commitment to social welfare and community engagement, especially on occasions of significance to its leadership.

ಬೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಚೇರಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿರುವ ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಸೂಚನೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಯೋಗ್ಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರ (OC) ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಆದೇಶದ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಹಲವಾರು ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅನೇಕ ಮನೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೇಕಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶುಲ್ಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾವತಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನೀಡದೆ ಬೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾವತಿದಾರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದುರುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

“ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಯಾವುದೇ ನಿರ್ಣಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನೀಡಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧವನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ನಿಯಮಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಜಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಬೇರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಎಸ್7 ಉಪವಿಭಾಗದ ಬಳಕೆದಾರರೊಬ್ಬರು ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಡೆ, ಈ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಮಾಸವೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಬಿಲ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. “ಮನೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸಾಲ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ EMI ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದು ನಮಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಬಳಕೆದಾರರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಹಾಕದೇ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನೀಡದೆ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ತೋರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ಈಗ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ಸಂಘದ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಂದ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ಸಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಶೀಘ್ರ ಪರಿಹಾರ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೋಟರಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಉದ್ಯೋಗ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ತನ್ನ 25ನೇ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 22ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಜ್ಞಾನಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ರಜತ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಗಾಯಕರಾದ ವಿಜಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುರಾಧಾ ಭಟ್ ಅವರ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಂಜೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ರೋಟೇರಿಯನ್ ರವಿರಾಜ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ರೋಟರಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಶಕಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವೃತ್ತಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನವೀನ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅನೇಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು, ಮೇಜು-ಕುರ್ಚಿಗಳು, ಶೌಚಾಲಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಭಾಂಗಣದ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಅವರು ಮುಂದುವರೆದು, “ ರವಿ ಕಿರ್ಲೋಸ್ಕರ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡ ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಿದ್ದಗಂಗಾ ಹಾಗೂ ದೀ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತಗೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಈ ವರ್ಷ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ರವಿ ಕಿರ್ಲೋಸ್ಕರ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಲಡ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಜೂನ್ ತಿಂಗಳ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ” ಎಂದರು.

ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ, ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಯುವಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರುದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವೃತ್ತಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯೂ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ನೆರವಿನ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ, ಜೂನ್ 22 ರಂದು ಜ್ಞಾನಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ “ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಂಜೆ” ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಹೃದಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಮಿತ್ರರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಜರಾಗಿ ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ರೋಟರಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಉದ್ಯೋಗ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಕೋರಿದೆ.

Tinder Introduces ‘Double Date’ Feature, Bringing a Social Twist to Online Dating

Bengaluru, June 18 — In a bid to make online dating more engaging and less intimidating, Tinder has launched a new feature called Double Date, allowing users to team up with a friend and match with other pairs. The feature aims to offer a light-hearted, group-based alternative to traditional one-on-one swiping, catering especially to younger users.

The new feature builds on Tinder’s existing tools such as Tinder Matchmaker™ and Share My Date, which already enable users to involve friends and family in their dating experience. With Double Date, Tinder shifts the focus further toward social interaction, turning the dating journey into something users can navigate with a companion by their side.

To use the feature, users simply tap the Double Date icon on the app, pair with a friend, and start browsing profiles of other duos. If one person from each pair shows interest, a match is created and a group chat opens — eliminating much of the pressure typically associated with online dating.

Tinder tested the feature across several global markets and reported high engagement, particularly among Gen Z and younger millennials. Nearly 90% of profiles using Double Date were from users under the age of 29, a demographic that already represents over half of Tinder’s global user base.

According to the company, women using the feature were three times more likely to “like” a pair compared to individual profiles. Moreover, users involved in Double Date conversations sent 35% more messages than in standard one-on-one chats. The new feature also appears to be attracting fresh interest in the app, with around 15% of Double Date participants being either new or recently reactivated users.

The feature is currently available in the United States and select international markets, with a global rollout expected in July.

Tinder says the initiative is part of its broader effort to reimagine online dating as a more social, fun, and supportive experience — particularly for women and younger audiences.
