ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, 20ನೇ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2025: ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಜಾರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾದಿಗ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಇಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಫ್ರೀಡಂ ಪಾರ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. 5000ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಚಿವ ಆರ್.ಬಿ. ತಿಮ್ಮಾಪೂರ ಅವರ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಚಿವರ ಹಾಜರಾತಿಗಾಗಿ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ 5:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಚಿವ ಎಚ್.ಸಿ. ಮಹದೇವಪ್ಪ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಚಿವ ಕೆ.ಎಚ್. ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ, ಆರ್.ಬಿ. ತಿಮ್ಮಾಪೂರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ನಾಗಮೋಹನ್ ದಾಸ್ ಅವರ ವರದಿ ನೀಡುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ವರಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ನಾಲೆಗೆ (22 ಮಾರ್ಚ್) ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, 23 ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ರಂದು ಸಂಘಟಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮುಖಂಡರ ಹಾಜರಾತಿ

ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಐಬಿಎಸ್‌ಪಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮಾರಸಂದ್ರ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ, ಮಾದಿಗ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಎಂ.ಆರ್.ಎಚ್.ಎಸ್, ದಲಿತ ಸಂಘರ್ಷ ಸಮಿತಿ (ಡಿಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್) ಮುಖಂಡ ಪ್ರೊ. ಬಿ. ಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪ, ಮಾದಿಗ ದಂಡೋರದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಜೆ.ಬಿ. ರಾಜೂರ್, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾದಿಗ ದಂಡೋರ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಸಮಿತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎಮ್.ಸಿ. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಮುಖಂಡರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರಿಂದ ಹಕ್ಕೋತ್ತಾಯಗಳು

ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾದ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಕೆಳಕಂಡ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟರು:

1. ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಸದಾಶಿವ ಆಯೋಗದ ವರದಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.


2. ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ವಿಳಂಬ ಮಾಡದೆ, ಶೇ.7% ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಮಾದಿಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಜಾತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.


3. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತ್ವರಿತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.


4. ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಆಯೋಗ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಒದಗಿಸಬೇಕು.


5. ಎಸ್ಸಿ/ಎಸ್‌ಟಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಅನುದಾನವನ್ನು ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಂಚಬೇಕು.



ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾದಿಗ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಮುಖಂಡರು 23 ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ರಂದು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಹೋರಾಟದ ದಿಸೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Bengaluru, March 2025: Coffee lovers and social change advocates are set to come together at Coffee Santhe, a unique three-day fundraiser dedicated to supporting women workers in coffee plantations. The event, scheduled to take place from March 21 to 23, 2025, at Freedom Park, Bengaluru, aims to celebrate India’s rich coffee heritage while addressing the challenges faced by women in the industry.

Organized by the Women’s Coffee Alliance India (WCAI), Coffee Santhe will focus on empowering women workers by providing skill training, resources, and better livelihood opportunities. Women in coffee plantations often grapple with issues such as unequal wages, lack of professional growth, and limited access to essential resources. This initiative seeks to bridge those gaps and create a more equitable future for them.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ವೇದಿಕೆ, ಸರ್ವಜ್ಞ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಎಂಬ ಮೂರು ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10.00 ರಿಂದ ರಾತ್ರಿ 10.00 ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ. ಹೊಸ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇ 7ರಂದು ನವ ಲೇಖಕರ ಮೇಳ, ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕರ ಮೇಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಬರಹಗಾರರ ಮೇಳ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

World Sparrow Day: A Call to Protect Our Vanishing Feathered Friends

Bengaluru, March 20, 2025 – Once a common sight in our homes, gardens, and marketplaces, the humble house sparrow is now disappearing at an alarming rate. On this World Sparrow Day, observed annually on March 20, environmentalists are urging citizens to take action to protect these birds from extinction.

The theme for this year, “Protect Sparrows, Preserve Nature,” highlights the critical role that sparrows play in maintaining ecological balance. Experts cite rapid urbanization, loss of green spaces, radiation from mobile towers, and excessive pesticide use as major reasons for their decline.

“These birds are an indicator of environmental health. If sparrows are vanishing, it’s a sign that our environment is under stress,” says a leading ornithologist. Conservationists suggest simple yet effective steps like setting up bird feeders, providing water sources, planting native trees, and reducing pesticide use to help revive their dwindling population.

Various schools, NGOs, and birdwatching groups across Karnataka are organizing awareness campaigns, tree-planting drives, and sparrow conservation initiatives. The government and urban planners must also step up efforts to integrate biodiversity protection into city planning.

As we mark World Sparrow Day, let us pledge to make our cities and homes sparrow-friendly, ensuring that future generations wake up to their cheerful chirping once again.
