Numeros Motors Unveils First Company-Owned Showroom in Bangalore on World Environment Day

Bangalore, June 5, 2025 — In a move reinforcing its commitment to sustainable transportation, homegrown EV manufacturer Numeros Motors today launched its first Company-Owned, Company-Operated (COCO) showroom in Rajajinagar, Bangalore. The opening, timed with World Environment Day, reflects the brand’s broader mission to drive clean mobility solutions across India’s urban landscape.

The 1,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to cater to both personal and commercial users, offering a curated retail experience for electric two-wheelers built on the brand’s Diplos platform. At the forefront is the newly launched Diplos Max, a multi-utility e-scooter with an IDC-certified range of 140 km and a full charge time of 3–4 hours. Available in Sonic Silver, Cosmos Blue, and Crimson Red, the scooter embodies the company’s design ethos of Safety, Reliability, and Durability.

The showroom is segmented into two dedicated zones:

The Family Zone, which highlights EVs built for daily commuting with features tailored for households.

The Business Zone, designed for delivery professionals and fleet operators, offering practical, load-ready options with modular attachments.

Dr Agarwals Pioneers Robotic Cataract Surgery in Karnataka to Combat Rural Vision Loss

Bengaluru, June 5, 2025 — In a significant stride toward revolutionizing eye care in Karnataka, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has rolled out robotic-assisted cataract surgery, addressing the growing burden of cataract-related vision loss, particularly among elderly populations in rural areas.

Cataract continues to be the leading cause of avoidable blindness among people over 50 in India, contributing to more than 60% of preventable visual impairment. Karnataka reported over 4.2 lakh cataract procedures in the 2022–23 period alone, reflecting an urgent need for earlier detection and intervention—especially in underserved rural regions where access to timely care remains a challenge.

“This marks a breakthrough in cataract care,” said Dr Archana S, Regional Head – Clinical Services, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Bengaluru. “Robotic surgery allows for greater customization and accuracy, significantly improving patient outcomes while reinforcing our mission to make cutting-edge eye care widely accessible.”

Dr Sripathi, also a Regional Head at the hospital, added that while technology is improving surgical efficiency, early diagnosis remains critical. “Cataract often progresses silently. People may not realize it’s affecting only one eye until the vision loss becomes advanced. Surgery is the only definitive solution, and newer techniques make it painless and swift—but awareness and timely check-ups are key.”

In recognition of Cataract Awareness Month, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital announced it will offer free cataract evaluations across all its centers for individuals aged 50 and above. The initiative is aimed at encouraging early screening and treatment among at-risk groups.

Health experts advise that everyone over the age of 40 should undergo routine eye examinations, not just for vision correction, but also to detect early signs of cataracts, glaucoma, and other age-related eye conditions. Cataract affects approximately 3.8 million Indians annually, with incidence rates rising sharply after age 60.

Bengaluru, June 4, 2025 – Global industry leaders have identified artificial intelligence (AI), deep technology, clean technology, and reform-driven governance as the cornerstones of India’s future as an innovation powerhouse. Speaking at the opening day of the India Global Innovation Connect (IGIC) 2025, experts emphasized that India is at a pivotal moment to accelerate its innovation journey.

Held in Bengaluru, the two-day summit brought together a distinguished international delegation comprising technology leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, and academics from countries including the United States, Japan, Germany, Israel, South Korea, Singapore, and France. This year’s summit centers on the theme: “Innovation in the Age of AI: Business, Society and Governance.”

Karnataka Governor Unveils JGU’s 2025 Sustainability Report, Calls for Climate Leadership in Higher Education

Bengaluru, June 3, 2025: O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) unveiled its 2025 Sustainable Development Report at the Bengaluru Sustainability Conclave on Tuesday, with Karnataka Governor Shri Thawaar Chand Gehlot releasing the report as the Chief Guest. The report highlights JGU’s progress in integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its academic, operational, and community frameworks.

The report outlines key achievements over the past year, including a notable rise in sustainability-focused research, increased student participation in green initiatives, and new academic programs dedicated to environmental and social governance. The university also recorded measurable reductions in its Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions, and strengthened its focus on waste management, water conservation, and health-conscious campus dining.

JGU Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar said the report reflects the university’s institutional commitment to sustainability as a core value.
“This report is not merely a summary of achievements—it’s a reflection of our mission to embed sustainability across all spheres of university life, from curriculum and research to administration and outreach,” he said.



Professor Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean, Office of Academic Governance at JGU, emphasized the role of universities in advancing global development goals.
“Sustainability is not an add-on—it’s part of our institutional DNA. Through inclusive and ethical education, we aim to foster responsible leadership for a more just and sustainable world,” he noted.



As part of the conclave, a panel discussion on “Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals: Maximising the Impact of Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships” brought together experts from academia, law, sustainability, and business sectors. Moderated by Prof. Kumar, the panel included:
