ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: 2025-26ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಅನುದಾನ ಮೀಸಲಿಡುವಂತೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ, ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಬಹುತ್ವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಳುವಳಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 11:30 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ನಡೆಸಿತು.

ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ 200 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿದಿದೆಯೇ?
ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಮನೋಹರ್ ಎಲವರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಹ-ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಕಾಂತದೇವಿ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ₹200 ಕೋಟಿ ಮೀಸಲಿಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಟೀಕಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪ್ರಭಾವಶಾಲಿ ಒತ್ತಾಯಗಳು:
ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದರು:

1. ವಸತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ: ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ನೀಡಲು ಹೊಸ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕು.


2. ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ನೆರವು: ಲಿಂಗ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರು ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರತಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ₹2,00,000 ಸಹಾಯಧನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.


3. ಉಚಿತ ಲಿಂಗ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ: ಉಚಿತ Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) ನೀಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ನಂತರ 6 ತಿಂಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.


4. ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶ: 1% ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಡಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರಿಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೋಚಿಂಗ್‌ಗಾಗಿ ಅನುದಾನ ಹಂಚಬೇಕು.


5. ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ: ಲಿಂಗತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ₹200 ಕೋಟಿ ಮೀಸಲಿಡಲು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ನೀತಿ ರಚಿಸಬೇಕು.



ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಈ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗ ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಅನುದಾನ ಮೀಸಲಿಡಲು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದೆ. “ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಹೋರಾಟ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಮನೋಹರ್ ಎಲವರ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Akasa Air Launches Direct Flights from Bengaluru & Ahmedabad to Abu Dhabi Under Codeshare with Etihad Airways

Bengaluru, 28th February 2025 – Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has expanded its international network by launching daily direct flights connecting Bengaluru and Ahmedabad with Abu Dhabi. The new routes, operated under a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, aim to boost travel and trade between India and the UAE.

The inaugural flight from Bengaluru took off from Kempegowda International Airport on 1st March 2025 at 10:00 AM IST, landing at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 12:35 PM AST. The maiden Ahmedabad-Abu Dhabi flight will depart at 10:45 PM IST, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 1:00 AM AST on 2nd March 2025.

This expansion strengthens Akasa Air’s presence in the UAE, complementing its existing Mumbai-Abu Dhabi route launched in July 2024. The airline now operates 21 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from three major Indian cities, marking its first international route from Bengaluru and an enhanced global reach from Ahmedabad.

A special flag-off ceremony was held at Kempegowda International Airport, attended by Akasa Air’s Executive Committee members. To commemorate the occasion, a ceremonial lamp was lit, and a special boarding pass was presented to the first passenger on the inaugural flight.

“ಬಿಷಪ್ ಕರ್ಕರೆ ಅವರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಾವಧಿ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಇವರು ಈಗ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಕ್ಕುದಾರರಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳು ಮೆತೋಡಿಸ್ಟ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಇನ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ರೆವ್. ಡೇವಿಡ್ ನಾಥನಿಯಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾನೂನು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳೂ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಕರ್ಕರೆ ರಿಜಿಸ್ಟ್ರಾರ್ ಆಫ್ ಸೋಸೈಟೀಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ಥಗಿತ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ, ಈ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದೆ. ಮುಂಬೈ ನಗರ ಸಿವಿಲ್ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಕೂಡ ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯಂತರ ಜಾಮೀನು ಅರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದೆ.

ಚರ್ಚ್ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ, ಬಿಷಪ್ ಕರ್ಕರೆ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಅಥವಾ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ನಡೆಸಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. “ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಹರಿಸುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಚರ್ಚ್ ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ರೆವ್. ನಾಥನಿಯೇಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದೆ ವೇಳೆ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನೋ ಅಥವಾ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನೋ ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಜೋಡಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸದಂತೆ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. “ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ವಿಷಯ. ಮೆತೋಡಿಸ್ಟ್ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ನಿಯಮಾವಳಿ ಮತ್ತು Book of Discipline ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

Methodist Church in India Announces New Leadership, Disputes Former Bishop’s Claims

Bengaluru, India – 28th, february, 2025  – The Methodist Church in India (MCI) today announced the appointment of Bishop Dr. Anilkumar John Servand as the sole legally appointed Resident and Presiding Bishop of the Bangalore Regional Conference, effective February 1, 2025. This decision, formalized through an Executive Council resolution on January 31, 2025, marks a significant leadership transition within the church.

Bishop Servand, who also serves as the Master (Chancellor) of the Senate of Serampore College, Chief Acharya of Sattal Christian Ashram, Chairman of the Council of Medical Work – MCI, Chairman of the Council of Women’s Work – MCI, and a Central Committee Member of the World Council of Churches (WCC), will assume his new role amidst ongoing legal disputes involving his predecessor, Bishop N.L. Karkare.
The MCI has clarified that Bishop Karkare, who continued in office beyond the age of superannuation (70), no longer holds any official position, title, or authority within the Bangalore Regional Conference. The church has denounced any claims suggesting otherwise as “false and misleading.”
“Bishop Karkare’s tenure has concluded, and any actions or representations made by him are not recognized by the Methodist Church in India,” stated Rev. David Nathaniel, Executive Secretary – Regional Executive Board, Bangalore Regional Conference, at a press conference held at the Press Club of Bengaluru.
The dispute has involved legal challenges, including a stay order obtained by Bishop Karkare from the Registrar of Societies, which was subsequently overturned by the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka. His plea for ad interim bail was also rejected by the Mumbai City Civil Court.
The MCI has issued a strong caution against engaging with Bishop Karkare in any official or financial matters, stating that the church will not bear responsibility for his actions. “Any individual or institution dealing with him does so at their own risk,” Rev. Nathaniel emphasized.

The church has also addressed potential attempts to involve external parties, including political leaders and civic bodies, urging them to respect the internal governance of the church. “This is an internal governance issue, guided by our bylaws and the Book of Discipline,” Rev. Nathaniel explained. “We trust that external entities will acknowledge and respect our self-governing nature.”
The Methodist Church in India reiterated that all conference-related matters should be directed to the duly appointed leadership. This declaration is considered final and binding.
