Bengaluru, June 27th, 2024: The 9th edition of OSH South India, India’s premier occupational safety and health (OSH) expo and conference, organised by Informa Markets in India, commenced today at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre ( BIEC ) , Bengaluru. The two-day expo taking place on June 27th and 28th, 2024, showcased advancements in personal protective equipment (PPE), occupational health solutions, artificial intelligence applications in safety, fall arrest systems, and workwear, and it is expected to draw more than 4000 trade visitors. With the global workplace safety market projected to grow from USD 15.7 billion in 2023 to USD 30.3 billion by 2028 at a CAGR of 14%, OSH South India 2024 is poised to drive significant advancements in the sector, showcasing the latest technologies and solutions for enhancing workplace safety standards in India.
 

The inaugural ceremony of OSH South India 2024 was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Mohsin, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Government of Karnataka; Guest of Honour Mr. K. Held in association with the Karnataka State Safety Institute and the Department of Factories, Boilers, Occupational Safety & Health, Government of Karnataka, the event featured participation from over 200 brands represented by around 90 domestic and international exhibitors. The expo showcased a broad spectrum of safe and healthy working environments, with companies presenting their latest products, services, and solutions. These include hard hats, safety gloves, gas masks, safety shoes, workwear, and safety harnesses, all under one roof. Supported by prominent associations such as the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association (SAMA), Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA), and WSHAsia, the event’s credibility is enhanced, reflecting a collaborative approach to advancing workplace safety.

The Significance of the Shelter Home:

This shelter home will provide short-term accommodation to a maximum of 8 to 10 individuals for up to 60 days, depending on the severity of the crisis. Its primary function is to support adult AFAB Queer & Transmasculine community members and persons with intersex variations who need shelter support. The shelter home aims to provide a safe and secure environment where community members can access necessary care, support, and resources to help them navigate their challenges. Sound Healing Workshop for Madikeri Inmates by Dr. Sham Rock Foundation



Bengaluru, June 25th 2024: In an initiative to promote wellbeing and inner peace, Dr. Sham Rock Foundation, held a sound healing workshop for inmates at the Madikeri District Jail in Karnataka, 2024 under the theme Sonic Solace 5.0.

The workshop, titled “Find Harmony Within: Sound Healing to Empower, Nurture, Heal the Mind, Body & Soul,” was led by Dr. Sham Rock, founder and managing trustee of the foundation, and Ms. Shilpi Das, founder of Charista Foundation. Both are renowned sound healers and inspirational figures.

The event was inaugurated by A.S. Ponnanna MLA, Virajpet ( Kodagu) along with Shri. Pramod Ganapathi, Panchayat President of Gonikoppal, Madikeri, and presided over by Shri. Sanjay Jatti, Assistant Superintendent of Prison. Over 160 inmates participated in the session, experiencing the benefits of sound healing which included detoxification, stress reduction, and emotional regulation.

Mr. Sanjay Jatti commended the foundation’s efforts, highlighting the positive impact the workshop had on the inmates. Dr. Sham Rock  said  that criminal behaviour is often rooted in circumstance, not inherent traits. This session aims to equip participants with tools to manage their emotions and avoid making impulsive choices. Dr. Sham  also expressed his intention to reach out to the Karnataka Home Minister to conduct similar programs at Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru.

Dr. Sham Rock Foundation’s mission extends beyond this workshop. They aim to empower aspiring artists from rural areas by providing training and opportunities to pursue music as a profession. They also conduct sound healing sessions and interactive drumming circles for various groups, including cancer patients, government schools, and senior citizen homes, believing in the power of music to promote healing, creativity, peace and a sense of community, music and sound healing also helps patients with Parkinson disease, dyslexia and other issues.

ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಬಿಡಿಎ ಲೌಔಟ್ ಗಳ ಅನೇಕ ಭಾಗಗಳು  ಬಿಬಿಪಿಎಂಗೆ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ‌ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ತೆರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಿದ್ಧರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದು ಮನೆ ಅಸೆಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ, ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಲು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ಎರಡ್ಮೂರು ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಲಂಚ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಮೂಲಸೌಲಭ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪರಿತಪಿಸುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಡಿವಾಣ ಬೀಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಬಿಡಿಎ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವ  ಬಹುತೇಕ ಸೈಟ್, ಮನೆ, ಅಪಾರ್ಟ್ಮೆಂಟ್, ಕಾಂಪ್ಲೆಕ್ಸ್ ಗಳು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗೆ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾಗದ ಅಂಜನಾಪುರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ 1ರಿಂದ11 ಬ್ಲಾಕ್ ಗಳು, ಜೆ.ಪಿ.ನಗರದ 9ನೇ ಫೇಸ್, ಬನಶಂಕರಿ 6ನೇ ಸ್ಟೇಜ್ ನ 1ರಿಂದ 10ನೇ ಬ್ಲಾಕ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಂಗೇರಿ ಭಾಗದ ಸರ್ ಎಂ. ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ಬಡಾವಣೆ ಗಳಿಂದ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ದೂರಿದರು.

ಕಂದಾಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕ್ರಮ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಿಡಿಎನಿಂದ ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ‌?, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮಿಷನ್ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ? ಡಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಿಡಿಎ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಿಗೆ ಕಮಿಷನ್ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆಯೇ?  ಎಂದು‌ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು.

ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ತೆರಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದರೆ ಅಧಿಕ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆಯೇ? ಅಂದಾಜು ₹20 ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿ ಆದಾಯ ಬರುವಂತ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷ  ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಮ್ ಆದ್ಮಿ ಪಕ್ಷ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನಿತರ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಪಕ್ಷದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ.ಸತೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬಿಡಿಎ, ಬಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯುಎಸ್ಎಸ್ ಬಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ಅಂಗ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡದಿರುವುದು ದುರಂತ. ಸಮನ್ವಯತೆ ಸಾಧಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕುಂಠಿತವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಣ ವಹಿಸುವುದು ತರವಲ್ಲ. ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಅಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಬಡಾವಣೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಚಿವರು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.

₹100 ಕೋಟಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ವಸೂಲಿ ಆಗಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ಅಡಿಟ್ ವರದಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕ್ರಮವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.
