Ujjivan Small Finance Bank observes Vigilance Awareness Week, educating employees on the right practices of banking Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (‘Ujjivan SFB’ / ‘Bank’) to observe ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from October 30 to November 6, 2023.
The theme is “Educating the employees on fraud prevention”, and it is aimed at promoting ethical banking practices among its employees. The Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Hegde, former Judge of the Supreme Court and former Lok Ayukta of the Karnataka State, kicked-off the “Vigilance Awareness Week” event with a ceremonial lamp lighting followed by a keynote speech. Other dignitaries included Mr. Samit Ghosh, Founder-Ujjivan, Mr. Ittira Davis, MD & CEO, Ujjivan SFB and Mrs. Rajni Mishra, Independent Director, Ujjivan SFB. During Vigilance Awareness Week, the Bank will conduct awareness programmes and workshops across its banking outlets. Initiatives will focus on training programme and educative series on importance of ethical conduct and building trust amongst its customers; a gamification version of educating the employees about Do’s and Don’t’s with the creation of “The Escape Room”; educative series highlighting the importance of ethical conduct, preventing fraud, and safeguarding customers’ interests. The Bank also recognised outstanding employees who showed exemplary behavior and integrity at their work. Initiatives like these demonstrate the bank’s commitment in promoting ethical banking practices and nurturing a culture of Vigilance among its employees.
corporation considers “healthy employees as assets to the organization”. Currently 34000 employees are working in the Corporation, out of that, 24686 are drivers and Conductors. Heart attacks/cardiac related diseases are very common these days due to working style, lifestyle and other reasons of our Corporation employees. Heart related diseases are more prevalent among drivers, Conductors and other staff above 40 years of age. Regular cardiac check-ups/examinations can help prevent possible heart attacks and taking precautionary measures save lives. Realizing the necessity of subjecting all the employees of the corporation to specific tests/checkups related to the heart, creating awareness among the employees and making them to take proactive measures, KSRTC has taken an initiative in collaboration with Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Research, decided to conduct ten medical checkups related to heart.
Today, i.e. 02.11.2023, KSRTC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Sri Jayadeva Institute. The MoU will be valid for next five years. Dr. C. N Manjunath while speaking on this occasion said, human health is very important and it cannot be purchased. Nowadays heart attack rates are increasing and is more seen in early aged. I have seen older people bringing their children for heart checkups. Human body is one’s best companion and it is our responsibility to protect it from any disease. This scheme also vogue in BMTC where employees aged 45 and above are covered under the scheme, but in KSRTC this scheme is extended to employees of 40 years and above which is good as the persons of this age group are also prone to heart ailments. He further said, Corporation has entered into an MoU with our institute and from now onwards it is our responsibility to identify the heart related ailments of employees. Separate checkup and treatment facility will be provided to employees and in our Mysore institute facilities would also be utilized by staff working in nearby divisions. During the occasion accident relief insurance cheque of Rs.1 crore each was distributed to 2 employee’s dependents who lost their life in accident while in service. Dr. C.N Manjunath expressed his extreme happiness over this special scheme and informed the audience, that this type of Rs.1 crore on road/off road accident relief insurance scheme is very unique and not implemented anywhere. He said, he is reading about various schemes introduced by KSRTC through newspapers and while 2-3 days back, he read about introduction of enhanced family welfare scheme amount to Rs.10 lakhs under the leadership of Sri. Ramalinga Reddy, Hon’ble Transport and Muzrai Minister which is highly appreciable. Hon’ble Transport and Muzrai Minister stated MoU entered with Sri Jayadeva Institute will facilitate for continuous heart related and other checkups to identify and prevent heart attacks and thereby save employees lives. Employees play vital role in corporation’s development and taking utmost care of them is their priority. He thanked Dr. C.N Manjunath for implementing this scheme for corporation employees at an economical cost. Sri. V. Anbukkumar IAS, Managing Director told, the corporation has implemented many schemes for employee’s welfare and to protect their family interest. In continuation of its commitment, it has entered into an MoU with Sri Jayadeva institute for medical checkups of employees over 40 years of age which will facilitate about 21,000 employees.
On behalf of employee who undergoes test the corporation pays Rs.1200 and Rs.2.55 crores per year to Jayadeva hospital. He said, this scheme will facilitate 62% of employees. Sri. Manjunath T. Assistant Traffic Inspector, Dharmasthala Depot, Puttur Division who has put in 34 years of service died by falling from his two wheeler on 17/03/2023. He was survived by two children and Sri.Srinath T.B. Driver-Cum-Conductor, T.No. 3973,Depot-5,Bangalore Central Division who has put in 24 years of service died in a private accident with Bolero on 04/04/2023 who was survived by his wife. These two employees dependents are paid with accident relief compensation of Rs.1 crore each. Bangalore, 2023: Marking the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, HCG Cancer Hospital Bangalore hosted a cyclothon with the theme “Ride to Beat Breast Cancer” to create awareness and educate about breast cancer for women. The chief guest for the event were well-known sandalwood actresses Ms. Neravanda Chetticha Prema and Ms. Ranjani Raghavan. The cyclothon was flagged-off by Ms. Manisha Kumar, the Regional Business Head for Karnataka, Dr. Mahesh Bandimegal, Senior Surgical Oncologist and Dr. Krithika Murugan, Surgical Oncologist, HCG Cancer Hospital, Bangalore. The participants were felicitated by the chief guests.
The event showcased a powerful display of community engagement, as participants united in solidarity for breast cancer awareness and championed the importance of early detection.

The event kicked off at 6 am from St. Joseph’s Ground on Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore and culminated at the same location, drawing an enthusiastic response from over 400 cyclists including women and senior citizens.
The cyclothon brought together people from varied walks of life to promote early breast cancer detection and treatment. The event was successfully concluded by recognising the exemplary participants, who were rewarded free breast cancer screening vouchers, commemorative photos etc. Through this event, HCG Cancer Hospital Bangalore has ignited a lasting commitment to building a healthier and more informed community.
