December 9-11 : World Cereals Organic Natural Farming Fair*

Project for 3 days at Art of Living campus in Bangalore

Bengaluru: On December 9, 10 and 11, under the joint auspices of Art of Living Institute headed by Sri Ravishankar Guruji and Bangalore Agricultural University, a 3-day World Cereals Organic and Natural Agriculture Fair and Agricultural Product Exhibition will be held in the premises of Art of Living Institute at Kanakapura Road here.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Chancellor of Bangalore Agricultural University Dr. S.  V.  Suresh said that for the first time in the fastest growing South Bengaluru, this Global Agriculture Fair dedicated to promoting healthy living will be an unprecedented organic and natural agriculture development thinking conference.

Brainstorming: An expert brainstorming session will be held on qualitative change and technology use in the field of real agriculture over a period of three days.  He said that several organic agriculture experts who will participate in this brainstorming will provide solutions to the problems and challenges of the farmers on the spot and give supplementary suggestions especially for the development of cereals, organic and natural agriculture.

MILLETS ORGANIC EXPO-2023 : With more than 180 stalls being opened, a mammoth exhibition of agricultural products is being organized to explain different concepts including cereals, organic and natural farming inputs, seeds, marketing system, farming practices to achieve high yield, which has gained wide global significance.  .  Agricultural experts and interested farmers from abroad will participate in this fair.

Various cereal, organic and natural farming organizations including farmers, farmer producer organizations, food processing organizations, exporters, government organizations will be interested in participating in the fair.  This World Cereals Organic Natural Farming Fair will also act as a bridge between buyers and sellers.  He said that more than 15 thousand people are participating in the fair every day and more than 50 thousand people are going to benefit from this fair in a total period of 3 days.

He also said that there is a transport bus and metro rail connection to reach the premises of the Art of Living Institute on Kanakapura Road, and a spacious parking lot has also been provided for the parking of the participating public. 

In the press conference, the Managing Director of Art of Living, Mr. Ranganatha Prasad, Mr. Ravindra Desai, Udayakumar Kollimatha, Bangalore Agriculture V.V.  Dr. S. V. Suresh, the chancellor of the Department of Organic Agriculture and Dr.  Boraya and others were there.

ಬುಧವಾರ ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಎಸ್. ವಿ. ಸುರೇಶ್ ಅವರು, ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸಲು ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಮೇಳ ಒಂದು ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಸಾವಯವ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಕಾಸ ಚಿಂತನೆಯ ಸಮಾವೇಶವಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿಬರಲಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ವಿಚಾರ ಮಂಥನ: ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಜ ಕೃಷಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಗುಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಬಳಕೆ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಸ್ನತ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಂಥನ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಂಥನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಾವಯವ ಕೃಷಿ ತಜ್ಞರು ರೈತರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ-ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಒದಗಿಸಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯಗಳ, ಸಾವಯವ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಂವರ್ಧನೆಗೆ ಪೂರಕ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರು.

“ಬೃಹತ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ” : ಸುಮಾರು 180 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಳಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯಗಳ, ಸಾವಯವ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಕೃಷಿ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು, ಬೀಜಗಳು, ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, ಅಧಿಕ ಇಳುವರಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಇರುವ ಬೇಸಾಯ ಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕೃಷಿ ವಸ್ತು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಮಹತ್ವ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ವಿದೇಶಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಕೃಷಿ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಆಸಕ್ತ ರೈತರು ಈ ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರೈತರು, ರೈತ ಉತ್ಪಾದಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಆಹಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ರಫ್ತುದಾರರು, ಸರಕಾರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯ, ಸಾವಯವ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿಯ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿವೆ. ಈ ವಿಶ್ವ ಸಿರಿಧಾನ್ಯಗಳ ಸಾವಯವ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ಮೇಳವು ಖರೀದಿದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರಾಟಗಾರರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸೇತುವೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಲಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತೀ ದಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಜನರು ಮೇಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಒಟ್ಟು 3 ದಿನಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 50 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಜನತೆ ಈ ಮೇಳದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಪಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

National Cancer Awareness Day: Experts Call for Increased Awareness of Lifesaving Stem Cell Transplants for Blood Cancer Patients

November 07, 2023: In India, the battle against blood cancer rages on, with an alarming statistic: someone gets diagnosed with this devastating disease every 5 minutes, resulting in over 100,000 incidences of it annually. Blood cancer continues to be a grave public health concern, characterized by its high prevalence and mortality rates. Leukemia stands as the most prevalent form of blood cancer in India, representing over half of all cases, while Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma have seen a concerning uptick in incidence in recent years.
A beacon of hope, a stem cell transplant has emerged as a promising treatment option for those battling blood cancer and blood-related disorders. However, the harsh reality is that only a handful of affected individuals find a matching stem cell donor to undergo this lifesaving treatment. This National Cancer Awareness Day, experts from DKMS BMST Foundation India call for an increased awareness of blood stem cell donation and how important it is to register as a potential stem cell donor.
To successfully carry out a blood stem cell transplant, it is crucial to obtain blood stem cells from an HLA-matched (Human Leukocyte Antigen) donor. When blood stem cells are collected from a donor, they are infused into the patient via a transplant process. This infusion allows the stem cells to travel through the bloodstream and eventually find their way to the bone marrow, where they reside. These new blood stem cells increase in number and produce healthy blood cells, replacing the patient’s diseased cells.
Only 30% of patients diagnosed with blood cancer or a blood disorder find a matching donor within their family, while the remaining 70% of the patients rely on the generosity of voluntary, unrelated stem cell donors. Ethnicity plays a significant role in finding a matching donor. Thus, the need for people of Indian ethnicity to register as stem cell donors is eminent as lakhs of Indian patients await their lifesaving donors.

Patrick Paul, CEO of DKMS BMST Foundation India, stated, “Only 0.04% of Indians are registered as stem cell donors. This means the chances of Indian patients finding a matching unrelated donor are one in a million. This leaves thousands of them on a waitlist for years as they cannot find donors, mostly due to the lack of their ethnic representation on the worldwide stem cell donor database. To address this disparity and save more lives, it is crucial to register a larger number of potential stem cell donors from India. With a population of over 1.42 billion and a rising incidence of blood cancer, thalassemia, and aplastic anemia, the need for Indian stem cell donors has never been greater.”
To highlight the importance of stem cell donation in combating blood cancer, experts lay emphasis on the case of 12-year-old Shruti, who battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her journey began with an unrelenting fever that baffled home remedies and local medical consultations. Rushed to a Chittor hospital, doctors prescribed a stem cell transplant as her lifeline. Facing financial hurdles, she sought treatment in Chennai, all while enduring chemotherapy and the loss of her hair. Today, she stands fully recovered, a testament to resilience and support from her stem cell donor.

ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು 1975ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ, ವಾರ್ಷಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು 14 ಲಕ್ಷ ಹೊಸ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ.ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದಾಜು 87,500 ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ 2,30,000 ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಪ್ರಚಲಿತದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪುರುಷರಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಧದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಆಗಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ. ಪುರುಷರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‍‌ಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಶೇಕಡಾ 9.6ರಷ್ಟಿದೆ. ನಂತರದ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿನ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ವಿಧಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ – ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‍‌ಗಳು (ಶೇ.6.8ರಷ್ಟು), ಅನ್ನನಾಳ (ಶೇ.5.5ರಷ್ಟು) ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಯಿ (ಶೇ.5.1ರಷ್ಟು) ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‌ಗಳು ನಂತರದ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ, ಸ್ತನದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‍‌ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಶೇ.30ರಷ್ಟಿದೆ. ನಂತರದ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು – ಗರ್ಭಗೊರಳಿನ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ (ಶೇ.11.0ರಷ್ಟು), ಅಂಡಾಶಯ (ಶೇ.7.2ರಷ್ಟು), ಬಾಯಿ (ಶೇ.4.3) ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಪಸ್ ಯುಟೆರಿ (ಶೇ.4.2).
ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ ದರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಪೈಕಿ ಪುರುಷರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಗತಿವಿಧಿಗೆಯನ್ನು (ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್) ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಶೇ.1ರಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾವಣೆನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪುರುಷರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ (1.9), ಬಾಯಿ (2.2), ಕೊಲೊನ್ (2.9), ಗುದನಾಳ (2.2), ಯಕೃತ್ತು (2.9), ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶ (1.6), ಪ್ರಾಸ್ಟೇಟ್ (2.3) ಮತ್ತು NHL (2.2) ಸರಾಸರಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಶೇಕಡಾವಾರು ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಯಿ (-1.1), ಗರ್ಭಗೊರಳು (-2.8), ಸ್ತನ (3.4), ಕಾರ್ಪಸ್ ಗರ್ಭಾಶಯ (5.4), ಅಂಡಾಶಯ (3.0), NHL (2.5) ಮತ್ತು ಥೈರಾಯ್ಡ್ (1.8) ಈ ದರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಶೇಕಡಾವಾರು ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಮೂರನೇ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‌ಗಳ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಿಗೆ ತಂಬಾಕು ಸೇವನೆಯೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂಬುದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪುರುಷರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ (ಅಂದರೆ, 46 ಮತ್ತು 24) ತಂಬಾಕು ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಗತಿವಿಧಿಗೆ (ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಗೆ) ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ, ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ ದರವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ಶೇ.0.5 ಮತ್ತು ಶೇ.-0.2ರಷ್ಟು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪುರುಷರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇತರ ಸಂಭವನೀಯ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶಗಳೆಂದರೆ -ಆಹಾರ ಪದ್ಧತಿ, ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ, ಅತಿಯಾದ ಮದ್ಯಪಾನ, ದೈಹಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಯ ಕೊರತೆ, ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಸೋಂಕುಗಳು.
ಕಿದ್ವಾಯಿ ಸ್ಮಾರಕ ಗಂಥಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬರುವ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಕೊರತೆ ಇರುವವರು, ಬಹುತೇಕ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ-ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸ್ತರದವರು ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಸುಮಾರು 21,000 ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 10,000 ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 3.6 ಲಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಆರಂಭಿಕ ತಪಾಸಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ರೋಗನಿರ್ಣಯ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡರೆ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ದುರದೃಷ್ಟವಶಾತ್ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ರೋಗ ಉಲ್ಬಣಾವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿವು ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ರೋಗಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಿಂತ ರೋಗ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವುದೇ ಜಾಣತನ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರ. ಈ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಿದ್ವಾಯಿ ಸ್ಮಾರಕ ಗಂಥಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪತ್ತೆ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು (ಸಿಡಿಸಿ) ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿದರೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿ ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ.
ಶೇ.80ರಷ್ಟು ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‌ಗಳು ಜೀವನ ಶೈಲಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಅಂಶಗಳಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬ ಅರಿವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಶಾಲೆಗಳು, ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳು, ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಬರಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತ ಹಾಗೂ ತಪಾಸಣ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಪುರದ ಸಮಿಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಡೆಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿದ ಶಾಲಾ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲು ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲು ಕ್ರಮವಯಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ರೋಗಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಸಹ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕು:

  1. ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಅಜೀರ್ಣ/ ಊಟ ಸೇರದಿರುವುದು/ ಮೈತೂಕ ಇಳಿಯುವಿಕೆ.
  2. ಚರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನರಹುಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಮಚ್ಚೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವಾಗುವುದು.
  3. ಗುಣವಾಗದ ಕೆಮ್ಮು.
  4. ಧ್ವನಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ.
  5. ನುಂಗಿದ ತುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅಡಚಣೆ ಆಗುವುದು.
  6. ಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಬರುವ ಬಿಳಿಮಚ್ಚೆಗಳು. ಮಲಮೂತ್ರ ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಬಹುದಾದ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸಗಳು.
  7. ಗುಣವಾಗದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳು. ಉದಾ: ಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುವ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳು
  8. ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ರಕ್ತಸ್ರಾವ ಅಥವಾ ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಬಿಳುಪು ಹೋಗುವಿಕೆ.
  9. ಸ್ತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಇನ್ನಿತರೆಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗೆಡ್ಡೆಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಗಂಟುಗಳು.
