-Magniflex India will run the collection drive in their franchise stores from 10th to 23rd December-
Bengaluru: 12th, Dec-2022: To capture and spread the magic of Christmas, Magniflex India is organizing a collection drive at its franchise outlets in Bangalore, Delhi and Ahmedabad, wherein all the outlets will keep a red Christmas bag, encouraging people to donate toys and cycles (new or unused) for underprivileged children. Each toy will have a personalized message attached to it and on December 23rd Mr. Anand Nichani, MD of Magniflex India, will give all the toys to NGOs that shelter children, and make the day special for them.
Today, when parents try to shower their children with more goodies than they need, this drive will strive to inculcate the habit of giving gifts, rather than only taking gifts all the time. In a bid to make Christmas special for underprivileged children, this year Magniflex will appeal to its customers and masses to join the collection drive whole heartedly.
GARMENT WORKERS TO CARRY OUT CAMPAIGN AND PROTEST AGAINST THE FAILURE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA TO PROTECT THEIR INTEREST AND FAILING TO REVISE MINIMUM WAGES AS PER THE ORDER OF THE KARNATAKA HIGH COURT
Garments industry had wage revision in 2014 and even after 8 years since then there has been no wage revision. The law states that the minimum wage of the prescribed industries should be revised every 5 years. But the minimum wage revision in the garments industry is on an average every 9 years. Thus, the wages of garment workers are about 4 thousand less than the wage rates of other scheduled industries in Karnataka. Even in fixing the minimum wages, the government is doing injustice to the garment workers by following this discriminatory policy.
The Garments industry is a major industry in Karnataka employing about 4 lakh workers, 80% of whom are women. These workers face various forms of physical and mental harassment on a daily basis and are paid extremely low wages. Garment workers are paid only the minimum wages fixed by the government. According to the Minimum Wages Act, wages are to be revised every 3 to 5 years. However, in the last 43 years, the Government has taken an average of 9 years to revise the minimum wage for the garments industry, resulting in depriving workers of the minimum wages that is due to them. As a result of this, while the minimum wages of workers fixed for other scheduled industries in Karnataka such as Ceramic Tiles industry is around Rs. 18,176/-, the minimumwages fixed garment workers per month is only Rs. 10,441/-.
The Supreme Court in the case of Reptakos Brett has given the formula to be used for fixing the minimum wages. Based on that, if calculated at today’s rates, the minimum wages should be fixed at Rs. 28,200/-. Garment workers are forced to work today at merely 1/3rd of such amount.
The Supreme Court has held that when workers are forced to work for less than minimum wages, the same amounts to forced labour. When the Government has failed to revise minimum wages, it means that workers are working for less than minimum wages, and this is nothing but forced labour. Why is the Government of Karnataka forcing lakhs of women workers to work as forced labourers?
The Managements of the Garment industries have been vigorously lobbying with the government every time the minimum wage is to be revised. Unfortunately, the Government instead of protecting the interest of the lakhs of workers has been working on behalf of the Managements. While the Management of the Garment Industry makes profits in billions, workers are forced to work for less than the minimum wages, and the Government is supporting such exploitation.
Every time there is a revision of the minimum wage, the garment industry lobbies heavily to ensure that the minimum wage does not go up. The most recent example was in February 2018 when the government issued a draft order fixing the wages of the helper category at 445/- per day. However, this was withdrawn within a month due to the lobbying of the industry. This withdrawal was challenged before the Karnataka High Court and in February, 2020, the High Court ruled in favor of the workers and held that such withdrawal was illegal and directed the Government to complete the process of issuance of a final notification. Today also with Dearness Allowance the workers should have been receiving wages of atleast Rs. 14,000/-. Instead they are paid merely Rs. 10,441/-.
The Garment and Textile Workers Union (GATWU) has been raising its voice since 2007 at the Government level, before the Court and with the International brands about the unjustness of the wages paid to garment workers. Garment workers have been taking forth their struggle for fair wages and dignified working conditions under the leadership of the GATWU.
The Governments and the Management of the Garment industry has created a situation where women workers are forced to struggle even for the fixation of proper minimum wages. Despite the Court directing the Government to ensure the revision of wages, the Government has failed to do so, perpetuating the injustice against garment workers
In this regard, GATWU is launching an agitation demanding for an increase in minimum wages to Garment Workers. As part of this campaign, GATWU will be distributing pamphlets, carrying out a postcard campaign, holding factory level meetings and protests as well as staging a massive protest by workers at Freedom Park.

Training models to save 60% project time and reduce paint wastage
Bengaluru, 12th December 2022:Nippon Paint, Asia’s real No.1 Paint Manufacturer, today announced the expansion of their XR painter training in Bengaluru to empower over 200 paintersby the end of this financial year. Nippon recently also introduced the Extended Reality (XR) painter-training module in Chennai followed by Madurai in Tamil Nadu this year.
Recognised by the Ministry of Skill Development, the XR module uses cutting-edge technology to address the gaps found in conventional methods of training. The basic training sessions will be held at the regional centre. On successful completion, painters can enrol for advanced training sessions after six months.
Painting has always been seen as a painful process by customers and painters are seen as a group of unskilled labours without any proper training. To change this perception and to make customers enjoy the painting experience, Nippon Paint, through XR painter, offers a 6-month training programme to Painters. This ground-breaking training programme, XR (eXtended Reality)painter, was created to assist painters in improving their painting skills for a more seamless process and to train them as professionals.
During this training, Nippon Paint, will adopt modern technology to train the painters, equip them to use high-end tools such as spray-painting machines (100 % dust free machines) and provide modernised painting experience.
The module lets the painter visualise rooms/walls and learn spray-painting techniques without using actual paint. Painters who have cleared this programme will be able to reduce their painting time by up-to 60 per cent, minimize paint wastage, and improve the surface finish, hence ensuring perfection of their projects. This in turn will translate into better business opportunities and multi-project skills for the Indian painter community.
Commenting on the launch of the Training academy, Mr. Mahesh Anand, President Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division)said, “At Nippon Paint, we always believe in giving back to the industry and contribute to the development of Painters. To empower the painters, the key stakeholder in the ecosystem, Nippon has initiated the training model to modernise the painters and to train them to use latest technologies.” As a driving thought, Mahesh also mentioned that the PROceed Painters will also get the machines at subsided costs.
Mechanised spray painting has the potential to halve the project time and is expected to change consumer mindset in the context of painting. This in turn will translate into better business opportunities and multi-project skills for the Indian painter community.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೂ ಜನಜಾಗೃತಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಶ್ರೀ. ಮೋಹನ್ ಗೌಡ ಇವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಜಿಹಾದಿ ಅಪ್ತಾಭ್ ಹಿಂದೂ ಯುವತಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಬರ್ಬರವಾಗಿ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ರಾಜಗಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ವಾರ ರಾಯಚೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಹಿಂದೂ ಯುವತಿಯರು ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಗೆ ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ಲಾಮ್ ಗೆ ಮತಾಂತರವಾದರು. ಪೋಷಕರು ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದರೂ ಸಹ ಪೋಲಿಸರು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯ ಬಂಧನ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಮತಾಂತರ ಕಾಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನೊಂದಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2022 ರಂದು ಗದಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಯುವತಿಯು ಇಸ್ಲಾಮ್ಗೆ ಮತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಂತರ ಆಕೆಯ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಯಿತಯ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಉಡುಪಿ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಕೊಡಗು & ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಸಲ್ಮಾನ್ ಯುವತಿಯರ ಶಾಹಿನ್ ಗ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಹಿಂದೂ ಯುವತಿಯರನ್ನು ಮುಸಲ್ಮಾನ್ ಯುವಕರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿ ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತಾಂತರ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾಯಿದೆ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಸಹ ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್’ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಿಂದೂ ಯುವತಿಯರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ಲಾಮ್ಗೆ ಮತಾಂತರ ಮಾಡುವ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ‘ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ದಳ’ ವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಗೆ ಪ್ರಚೋಧನೆ ನೀಡುವ ಮಸೀದಿ, ಮದರಸಾ, ಮೌಲ್ವಿ, ಶಾಹಿನ್ ಗ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಮ ಜರುಗಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 21, 000 ಯುವತಿಯರು, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಮಾಫಿಯಾ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಇದೆಯಾ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಗ್ರಹ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಮನವಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವರು, ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಮತಾಂತರ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವ ಲವ್ ಜಿಹಾದ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮತಾಂತರ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎಂದರು.
