Bengaluru, 08th November: Jeep India announced the start of production of the 5th generation Grand Cherokee at its manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, Pune making it the Brand’s fourth nameplate to be made in India. India’s cancer burden to rise to 29.8 million in 2025: ICMR report

According to a report by the Indian Council for Medical Research on the ‘Burden of cancers in India’, seven cancers accounted for more than 40% of the total disease burden: lung (10.6%), breast (10.5%), oesophagus (5.8%), mouth (5.7%), stomach (5.2%), liver (4.6%) and cervix uteri (4.3%).

Obesity is new age smoking and a slow plague which can leads to many cancers and lifestyle diseases. Maintaining optimum weight must be our health mantra. We are moving away from natural food to processed food which contains certain preservatives which increase the risk of cancers & Sudden Heart Attacks

ಪ್ರೊ. ಮಲ್ಲೇಪುರಂ ಜಿ. ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ 1952 ಜೂನ್ ಐದರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಹೆಬ್ಬಗೋಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನನ, ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ನೆಲಮಂಗಲದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹೈಯರ್ ಸೆಕೆಂಡರಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಮೊದಲ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ-ಕನ್ನಡ ಗುರುಗಳು ಎಸ್.ವಿ. ರಾಮಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅಯ್ಯಂಗಾರ್, ಸಿದ್ದಗಂಗಾ ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪಂಡಿತ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ವಿದ್ವತ್‌ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ, ವಿದ್ವಾನ್‌ ಬಿ. ವೆಂಕಟರಾಮ ಭಟ್ಟ, ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವ್ಯಾಲಂಕಾರಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣಾಶ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಆದಿದೇವಾನಂದರಿಂದ ಅದೈತ ವೇದಾಂತದ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ, ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಎಂ.ಎ., ಮೂರನೇ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನೊಡನೆ ಕುವೆಂಪು ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಎಂ.ಎ., ಉನ್ನತ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತೇರ್ಗಡೆ. ಕನಕಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಜೀವನ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪಂಡಿತ. 1992ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂಪಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಚಕ, ಅಧ್ಯಯನಾಂಗದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ 1998ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಲಸಚಿವ. 2001ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ. 2004ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಹಂಪಿ, ಡೀನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, 2008ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವಿಶೇಷಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ, 2010 ಮೇ 26ರಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಕುಲಪತಿ, 2015ರಿಂದ ಕಲಬುರಗಿಯ ಪಾಲಿ ಇನ್‌ ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಗೌರವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ತೊಂಬತ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯಿಂದ 2008ರಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಗೌರವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ’ ಹಾಗೂ 2009ರಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ’ 2011ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ‘ಡಾ. ಬಿ.ಆರ್ ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ. 2012ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಗಂಗಾ ಮಠದಿಂದ ‘ಸಿದ್ಧಗಂಗಾಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ 2016 ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಚೂಡಾಮಣಿಯಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನ, ನವದೆಹಲಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ, 2017ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಗಂಗೆಯ ಮೇಲಗಣವಿಮಠದಿಂದ `ಶಿವಗಂಗಾಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಸವ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ‘ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ. 2018ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ ಸೇಡಮ್ ‘ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಸಮ್ಮಾನ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಅಮ್ಮೆಂಬಳ ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ನಾವಡ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದಿಂದ ಅಮ್ಮೆಂಬಳ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ’, 2020ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾವೇರಿಯ ಬಸವಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಶ್ರೀ ಹೊಸಮಠದಿಂದ ‘ಡಾ. ಶಿಮುಶ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನ ಆಜೀವ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ’, ಸಾಗರದ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾಭಾರತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾಮಂದಿರದಿಂದ ‘ವಿದ್ವಾನ್ ಎನ್. ರಂಗನಾಥ ಶರ್ಮಾ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ. 2021ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ನೃಪತುಂಗ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ’, 2022ರಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್ಯಭಟ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಂಘದಿಂದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ‘ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಆರ್ಯಭಟ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ’ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋವಿಂದ ಪೈ ಸಂಶೋಧನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ‘ಸೇಡಿಯಾಪು ಕೃಷ್ಣಭಟ್ಟ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ.
